1
1 First movement

The first movement is carried out each time the control device is switched on. This
movement is performed at reduced approach speed and permits the control device to
check the door stroke on opening and closing.
The first position checked is always the closing stroke end, followed by the opening stroke
end.
The first movement is not completed until the operations described above have been
successfully checked (free stroke without obstacles and reading of the stroke ends).

2
Complete opening and closing

On receiving the opening command, the door accelerates until it reaches the maximum
speed set, which it maintains until it reaches the open/close check position.
On reaching the open/close check position, it begins the checking stage and decelerates
until the approach speed is reached.
Once the door has reached the end of the opening stroke, the holding force is applied.
After a period of time of 3 sec., the door automatically closes again using the same
methods as those used in the opening cycle.

3 Obstructions

Door closing

If during the closing phase the door detects an obstruction, it stops and opens again at
normal speed.
At the next closing movement, the door proceeds normally to the point where it detected
the obstacle, and then continues slowly until the movement has been completed.
If the obstacle is still present during the slow movement, the door opens again and
attempts the closing movement 7 times (this number has been set beforehand), after
which the door stops at the obstacle. In this condition, all the pushbuttons on the internal
pushbutton panel begin flashing.
After the obstacle has been removed, press the ON-OFF pushbutton twice and the
pushbutton panel will begin operating normally.

Door opening

If during the opening phase the door detects an obstruction, it stops and a few seconds
later tries to open again. If the obstacle is still present, the door closes again and waits to
receive a new command. If the obstacle has been removed, it continues in low speed to
the stroke end and then closes again at normal operating speed.

3
4 5-button pushbutton panel operation

The door is supplied as standard with an internal 5-button pushbutton panel.

4.1 Main controls

ON/OFF : ON normal operation/ OFF door stop

OPEN/CLOSE : door opening and closing
PARTIAL OPENING : enabling/disabling of partial opening
EXTERNAL RADAR : enabling/disabling of external radar
INTERNAL RADAR : enabling/disabling of internal radar

The ON/OFF pushbutton lights up with a red light when in the OFF condition (in this
condition the door is stationary).
The PARTIAL OPENING, EXTERNAL RADAR and INTERNAL RADAR keys light up with
a green light when the respective functions are enabled.
If the ON/OFF key is pressed when the door is in motion, the door stops immediately in its
current position. Pressing the key again activates the door again, which remains stationary
until it receives a new command.

4
4.2 Secondary controls

• After the door has been stopped with the “ON/OFF” key (red LED steady on), if the
“ON/OFF” button is pressed again for more than 5 seconds, all the door operator
components stop (red LED flashing), the motor drivers are disconnected and the
door is free to be moved manually.
If the ON/OFF key is pressed once again (for 5 seconds), the drivers are
reconnected. To activate the door again, the ON/OFF key must be pressed again.

• Automatic closing.
If the “ON/OFF” + “EXTERNAL RADAR” + “INTERNAL RADAR” keys are pressed
simultaneously for 5 seconds, automatic closing is disabled. To close the door again
a command from the pushbutton panel is required (the OPEN/CLOSE button will be
flashing). To restore automatic closing, press the three keys again for 5 seconds.

• LED pushbuttons.
If the “PARTIAL OPENING” key is pressed for 7 seconds, the additional LED
pushbuttons are enabled/disabled (§.6). These can be mounted on the vertical
posts of the door or in other locations by using a metal plate. When in the enabled
condition, the “PARTIAL OPENING” pushbutton flashes.

• Reset function.
If the “ON/OFF” + “OPEN/CLOSE” + “PARTIAL OPENING” keys are pressed for 5
seconds, the electronic control device is reset. When this operation is performed, all
keys begin flashing, the electric control device switches off and on again, and the
First movement (§.1) procedure is repeated.

5 Radars

Each door is equipped with both an internal and external radar, which can be mounted on
the door itself or built into the boat structure.
Each time the radars are activated, they open the door at normal operating speed.
The radars can be disabled. In this case, when the door is closed, they do not permit
opening.

5
During the closing phase of the doors, the radars are always active even if they have been
disabled, to ensure maximum safety within the range of action of the door.

(We recommend that built-in radars are positioned as near as possible to the door, making sure that they are
mounted in the correct direction, as illustrated by the arrow on the radar itself, which should indicate the
entrance/exit of the door).

6 Additional pushbutton panel types

The door opening command can also be activated by the following additional components,
which are not part of the standard equipment:

• LED pushbutton;

• Key switch;

• Key switch + LED pushbutton;

6
Code keypad.

6.1 External code keypad

When a 4-digit code is typed into the external code keypad, the door can be opened by
pressing the * key or closed by pressing the # key.
The keypad remains enabled for 60 seconds. In other words, door opening and closing
can be controlled without entering the 4-digit code.
Each door opening and closing operation restarts the keypad enabling time.
At the end of the 60 second period, the keypad is automatically disabled.
The keypad can also be disabled immediately by pressing the 0 key.

Two types of codes can be entered in the keypad:

user code which permits the door to be opened or closed.

master code which permits the user code to be changed as desired.

7
Changing the user code:

• Type in the master code and press the # key on the keypad.
• Enter the new user code (four digits) and press the # key.
To change the master code:

• Type in the old master code and press the * key on the keypad.
• Enter the new master code (four digits) and press the * key.

The following default codes have been programmed into the electronic control device:
• User code: 5678
• master code: 1 2 3 4

If the new codes are typed incorrectly into the keypad, press the keys * 0 #
simultaneously and, keeping them pressed, switch the power to the electrical control
device off and on again.
The default codes given above will be activated again.
During normal operation, if the user code for door opening is incorrectly typed in, press the
* or # key and type in the user key again.

8
7 Standard Door Closing

In order to change over from manual movement to automatic and vice versa, the lock hook
bolt should be positioned as follows:

From manual to automatic

Press the handle down and, keeping in down, turn the key in the locking direction (anti-
clockwise if outside the door). Release the handle and the lock hook bolt will remain
raised.

1 2 3

(View of the door exterior)

In this position (3) the hook bolt will not interfere with the automatic door opening
movement.

9
From automatic to manual:

After having disabled the door operator and changed door operation to manual, press the
handle down and, keeping it down, turn the key in a clockwise direction if you are on the
outside of the door (unlocking). Let go of the handle and the lock hook bolt will be released
(3a) and begin operating normally.

In this configuration and if the doors are close, the door can be mechanically locked by
turning the key.

8 Heavy duty series Door closing

The Heavy duty series includes doors equipped with mechanical bar closing systems,
which when moved vertically lock the door.
To lock the door when closed, firstly rotate the handles to the horizontal position and then
turn the key.

10

9 Doors with pneumatic seal

In the case of doors with a pneumatic seal, if the handles are rotated from the vertical
position to the horizontal position when the doors are closed, the closing bars lock the door
and disable all controls (the OPEN/CLOSE pushbutton flashes).
At the same time the pneumatic circuit is activated, which rapidly inflates the seal.
The seal can be deflated by rotating the handles back to the vertical position.
After a certain period of time (approximately 35 sec. during which the seal deflates), all
door functions are automatically enabled again and await a new command (the
OPEN/CLOSE pushbutton stops flashing) .
When the handles are in the vertical position, the door with seal operates in the same way
as the standard sliding doors described in previous paragraphs.
If the main pneumatic system fails, the control panel is equipped with a pressurised
reservoir which can be used to perform several seal inflation cycles. Once the reservoir
has been exhausted, the seal can be supplied by using the hand pump found on the
control panel.

WARNING !
Manual inflation and deflation of the pneumatic seal must be carried out only when the
doors are closed and the handles have been pressed down (i.e. when the doors are
locked). Failure to carry out this procedure could cause damage to or breakage of the
pneumatic seal.

To activate the hand pump, move the ring nut of the opening/closing slide value to the
closed position (direction indicated by the arrow on the drawing of the same) and begin
working the hand pump, performing about ten strokes in order to reach a pressure of 1.5
bar, which is the value required for the seal to operate correctly. The progressive pressure
value can be read on the manometer located near the valve (a relief valve is however
present to protect the seal).

11
To deflate the seal, the ring nut of the slide valve must be moved to the open position.
Wait approximately 35 sec. for all the air in the seal to discharge completely.

HAND PUMP OPENING/CLOSING VALVE MUSHROOM-SHAPED EMERGENCY PUSHBUTTON

9.1 Emergencies

To rapidly deflate the pneumatic seal in an emergency, the pneumatic system can be used
by pressing the mushroom-shaped emergency pushbutton.
To return to the normal operating condition, the emergency pushbutton must be reset.

Display operation

When the control device is on and operating normally:

− The display is blank;

− The green LED (presence of power) is on;
− The red LED (communication) flashes.

DISPLAY ( ES-00708 )

Each parameter regarding automatic door operator movement (operator type, speed,
acceleration, current, etc.) and the enabling of various components can be modified using
the appropriate menu accessed on the display.

13
11 Door status

The terminal board on the electronic card is equipped with two contacts: one N.C.
(normally closed) and one N.O. (normally open), which can be used to signal the status of
the door (open or closed).

12 Control device malfunction

If the control device safety lock is tripped (high temperature of motors, high temperature of
control device, encoder fault, mechanical failure), the door operator stops.
This event is signalled by the flashing of the pushbutton panels present; the control device
will display the type of anomaly.

13 Mains power failure

The door operator will continue to operate, using the power provided by internal batteries,
as long as the voltage remains above 18 volt. Below this level the control device switches
off.

Final note

Improper use of the operating systems or failure to observe the instructions given in this
manual may cause the door to malfunction.
