Jonkateshwara Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS}, consisting of
Medical College and a 1250 bedded hospital, was established in
2016 as one of the constituent units of Shri Venkateshwara
University in Gajraula, District Amroha, UP. It is promoted by Shri Bankey
Bihari Educational & Welfare Trust. VIMS is the brain child of the dynamic
founder of Shri Venkateshwara University, Dr. Sudhir Giri, having vision and
mission to provide education at par with international standards via skilled
medical graduates with ability to serve the global community. His untiring
and dedicated endeavor to provide the state of the art medical education in
the country had culminated in the esteblishment of VIMS. The hospital
attached to this medical college is extending medical facility to the poor and
underprivileged society. VIMS started functioning in 2016 by admitting its first

The campus is Ragging Free. An Anti-Ragging
Committee ensures that no incidence of ragging takes
place in the university. All over the schools and
campus, flex and notices are displayed of showing the
evils of raging and also the telephone numbers of
important officers, police ete.
The word "Ragging’ means the action of teasing,
playing a practical joke upon someone of holding
comic parades and other similar activities.
All students are being asked to submit affidavits
pledging that they will not participate or even witness
any act which may fall under the definition of ragging

instructed and trained to keep a close watch on the
