Q1. Read the passage carefully and answer the questions.
Water is one of the most important natural resources on Earth. All living beings—humans, animals, birds, and
plants—need water to survive. We use water for drinking, cooking, bathing, cleaning, farming, and many other
daily activities. Most of the water on Earth is found in oceans and seas, but this water is salty and not fit for
drinking. Only a small amount of the water is fresh and can be used by people.
Fresh water is found in rivers, lakes, ponds, glaciers, and underground sources. But due to increasing pollution,
much of our clean water is getting dirty. Many factories throw waste into rivers, and people waste water by
leaving taps open. As the population grows, the need for water also increases, and if we are not careful, we may
face water scarcity in the future.
We must learn to save water. Simple steps like turning off taps properly, using a bucket instead of a shower, and
collecting rainwater can help conserve water. Schools and homes should teach children the importance of saving
water so that we can protect this precious resource for future generations.
