Public Policy Polling Gives McClure Lead in Pa. 7 Race
A new poll from Public Policy Polling finds that even in a crowded field, Lamont McClure
emerges as an early frontrunner among likely Democratic primary voters.
• In the initial 5-way matchup between candidates, McClure garners a plurality of the
vote at 23% while other candidates trail at 7% (Obando-Derstine and Pinsley) and
3% (Crosswell and Brooks.) More than half (58%) of voters are initially unsure of
who they would vote for.
• About a third (31%) of likely Democratic primary voters already view McClure
favorably with only 9% responding unfavorably and 60% remain not sure either
way. McClure’s favorability rating is the highest in the poll, as voters report
favorable opinions of other candidates at only 16% (Pinsley), 11% (Obando-
Derstine), and 6% (Crosswell and Brooks.)
Public Policy Polling surveyed: 518 likely Democratic primary voters from July 29-30,
2025. The margin of error is +/- 4.3%. 60% of the interviews for the survey were
conducted by text message and 40% by telephone.
