ROLE PLAY SCRIPT (5 PEOPLE)

Title: KITCHEN BLACKOUT: A Culinary Crisis

Scenario: A power outage hits mid-prep with 1 hour left before dinner service. Chaos? Yes. But this

team? UNSTOPPABLE.

CHARACTERS:

1. Chef Leader Calm, bossy, brain of the group

2. Hot Cook Handles heat, drama, and pressure

3. Cold Cook Chill, artistic, salad slayer

4. Pastry Chef Dessert genius with a flair for the dramatic

5. Server The PR team, comedian, and social butterfly

SCENE:

[Everyones prepping. Theres background noise chopping, sizzling, music. Suddenly...]

POWER OUTAGE.

All (screaming in panic):

AHHH!

Waitwhat?!

Not the power!

Who touched something?!

CHEF LEADER (claps loudly, full control)

Okay! Everyone. Breathe. This is just a blackout. The clocks still ticking, and dinner must go on.

Weve trained for worse. Kind of.


Hot Cook use the gas burner. Cold Cook get creative with fresh ingredients. Pastry Chef time for a

no-bake miracle. Server keep the guests calm before they form a riot.

HOT COOK (raises portable burner like a sword)

Im on it, Chef! This burner and I are best friends now. Its giving fire. Literally.

Electricity? Never met her. These noodles will still slap.

COLD COOK (already slicing like a boss)

Honestly, I was built for this moment. Salads? Easy. Cold sides? Say less. Ill make them so pretty

theyll forget the lights are out.

PASTRY CHEF (pouting at the oven)

I was going to bake the most amazing chocolate cake. But noooo, the universe said no.

You know what? Plan B. Mango float. No-bake. Still iconic.

SERVER (storms in like a reality show contestant)

Chef! Guests are panicking. One said, Why is the restaurant giving haunted house vibes?

What do I say? That their dinners powered by vibes ?

CHEF LEADER

Tell them this is an *exclusive chefs surprise night.* A one-time-only off-grid dining experience.

Fancy. Trendy. Mysterious.

SERVER

Oh I LOVE that. Limited-edition darkness dinner. Theyll eat it up literally.

[Everyone rushes back to their stations. Music intensifies. Sound effects: chopping, flames,
whisking, determination.]

HOT COOK

This stove is hotter than my love life. But the chicken? Perfectly seared.

COLD COOK

This salad is museum-worthy. Id hang it in the Louvre if it didnt taste so good.

PASTRY CHEF

No bake, no problem. Im still the dessert queen.

CHEF LEADER

You guys are killing it. Im proud. This? This is kitchen excellence under pressure.

LIGHTS SUDDENLY TURN BACK ON

All (freeze, squint, then groan):

Oh wow. NOW you decide to come back?!

SERVER

Too late, power. We already slayed without you.

CHEF LEADER

Dinner service complete. Blackout or not we delivered. Thats the real recipe for success.

All (in sync, raising utensils like heroes):

YES, CHEF!!
