2 From a young age, Elon was already a great entrepreneur. At age 12 he created
a video game and sold it to a computer magazine. By 28 years old, he had already sold
his first company called Zip2. He went on to start X.com, which later became PayPal.
Elon's next two big ventures were SpaceX and Tesla.
3 Musk believed that for life to survive, humanity had to become a multi-planet species.
He founded Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) to make affordable rockets for
fast transportation between cities on Earth and for building bases on the Moon and
Mars. In May 2020, NASA and SpaceX launched two astronauts, Robert Behnken and
Doug Hurley into space.
4 Musk was interested in the possibilities of electric cars, so he became one of the
funders of Tesla Motors (renamed Tesla). Elon wanted to prove that electric cars were
better than traditional engines, so his team developed the world's best electric cars.
They were not only kind to the environment but also included some amazing technology.
They developed the Model S car, which included an autopilot mode. This car can follow
road markings and make sure there is a safe distance between itself and other cars.
