SECTION 07821 - BOARD FIRE PROTECTION


In addition to general MASTERSPEC instructions for coordinating Drawings with Specifications,
Drawings should indicate the following information related to this Section:

q Extent of each type of board fire protection. Use generic names from this Section if using more than
one type.

q Locations and extent of fire-resistance-rated construction with board fire protection. Include the
design designations listed in UL's Fire Resistance Directory or in listings of another qualified testing
and inspecting agency.

q Special anchorage requirements if available and if the choice to select from approved systems per
Specification is not left to the Contractor.

q Locations of calcium silicate board fire protection that will be exposed and is indicated to have joints
finished and surface treated to receive a decorative finish.

q Areas to be covered by finish construction specified in other Sections.
