 6 students do not like any of the three sports

b. Given that 𝑥(2𝑥 2 − 7𝑥 + 6) and 𝐴𝑥 3 + 𝐵𝑥 2 + 𝐶𝑥 2 + 2𝐴𝑥 + 𝐶𝑥 are identical polynomials,

b. The probability of a football player scoring a goal is 4⁄7, the probability of scoring a

9. The cost of running a business per week is partly constant and partly varies inversely as the
number of customers. When the number of customers is 30, the cost is K230,000 when there
are 80 customers, the cost K180,000. Calculate the cost when there are 60 customers.

12. Business woman bought two types of tyres. Type A costs K7,500 each and type B costs
K6,000 each. She had K150,000 available and decided to buy at least 15 tyres all together.
She also decided to buy at least 5 tyres of type A.
a. If x represent the number of tyre A types and y represent the number of type B tyres.
Write down three inequalities that satisfy the information above in addition to 𝑥 ≥ 0, and
𝑦≥0

b. Using a scale of 2cm to represent 5 units on both axes, draw graphs, on the graph paper
provided, to show the region represented by the inequalities. Shade the unwanted region

c. Use your graphs to find the number of tyres of type B the business woman would buy if
she bought 8 tyres of type A. (10 marks)
