Objectives/SLOs
Children will identify the letter B by its shape and name, recognize /b/ objects, and practice
tracing and writing B. They will improve pencil grip and letter formation through guided
practice. They will begin connecting letter sounds with familiar words and images. Motor
control and confidence in writing will also be supported.
Activating Prior Knowledge
The teacher will show yesterday’s B flashcard and ask, “What is this letter?” Children will
say “B” and the sound “/b/.” She will ask for words beginning with B and do a short B chant.
A few objects starting with B will be shown, like ball and banana. Children will be invited to
mimic the B sound and do actions for each word.
Acquiring New Knowledge
The teacher will show a worksheet with dotted B shapes and B-object pictures. She will
model tracing and coloring. She’ll explain how B has one line and two curves. Children will
trace B in the air with fingers before using pencils. Teacher will name each B-object while
showing the picture.
Applying New Knowledge
Children will trace B on the worksheet, color B pictures, and write B freehand. They’ll say
the sound aloud while writing, with teacher guiding hand movement. Children who finish
early can draw one more B-object on the back. Teacher will encourage sharing work with
peers in small groups.
Assessing Knowledge
Worksheets will be checked for shape and matching. Teacher will give praise and support to
those who need correction. Correctly traced sheets may be placed on the wall display. A
quick verbal review of B-words will end the session.

Objectives/SLOs
Children will reinforce B recognition and /b/ sound through sorting and games. Listening
and naming skills will be practiced during play. They will strengthen sound-object
association using real materials. Confidence will grow through group turn-taking and
participation.
Activating Prior Knowledge
The teacher will review B flashcard and sound. She will ask, “What objects start with B?”
and show a toy basket. Children will respond by naming B-items they remember.
Excitement will be built by previewing a game with the toys.
Acquiring New Knowledge
The teacher will pull items from the basket, say their names, and show flashcards. Children
repeat after her and decide if the word starts with B. Incorrect examples will be included to
check understanding. Children will clap or tap the table when they hear a B word.
Applying New Knowledge
Children will pick toys, name them, and sort B objects into a pile. They will cheer when
someone finds a correct B-object. Groups will take turns, and all children will participate.
Flashcards may be placed next to the sorted objects for clarity.
Assessing Knowledge
Teacher observes sorting and pronunciation. Claps or stickers reward effort and right
answers. Verbal encouragement will be given even for near-correct attempts. The teacher
may recap using flashcards to reinforce learning.

Children will listen for B-words in a short poem and match them with pictures. They’ll
practice pronunciation and word recognition. Rhyme and rhythm will help improve
memory and listening skills. The lesson will also support creative expression through sound
play.
Activating Prior Knowledge
Teacher reads a rhyme with B words like “Bouncy ball…” Children clap when they hear a B-
word. She will read it again slowly, emphasizing B sounds. The poem may be sung or
chanted to make it more fun.
Acquiring New Knowledge
Teacher points to B-words in the poem and shows matching flashcards. Children repeat
lines and say the words aloud. Each word will be explained through actions or images. The
teacher may call on individual students to identify letters on the chart.
Applying New Knowledge
Children match a flashcard to a line in the poem. They will read the line aloud with support.
Children can also act out words to deepen understanding. Flashcards will be placed under
each poem line after matching.
Assessing Knowledge
Teacher checks matching and pronunciation. Children get praised for correct attempts and
participation. Stickers or stars may be given for active effort. The class may repeat the poem
together for closure.
