• Spreadsheet :-
A spreadsheet application is used to store data in rows and
columns, i.e. tabular form.
• Uses of spreadsheet: - A spreadsheet application can
also be used to sort, manipulate, calculate and analyse
data.
• Examples of spreadsheet software include
Google Sheets, iWork Numbers, LibreOffice, Lotus Symphony,
Microsoft Excel, OpenOffice Calc.
Features of a Spreadsheet :-
• It allows you to enter and store data in a tabular format.
Stored data can be filtered and sorted in various ways.
• It provides support for a variety of mathematical calculations
on numeric data.
• It can be used to generate charts or graphs of numerical data
that can be used for quick analysis.
• You can protect and secure sensitive data contained in a
spreadsheet.

1. Fill in the blanks.

form.
d. Aditi has created a Calc worksheet. Which cell format in Calc
should she use to display the numbers as shown below?
i. $80 -> Number Format: Currency
ii. 50.00% -> Number Format: Percent
e. Kriti has created a Calc worksheet with the marks obtained by
students of her class in Term I examination. However, she forgot
to add the column for ICT. She needs to add this column
between Math and Science. Explain how she can do this.
Ans:- Steps to add/Insert a Column :-
Step 1: Select the cell before which you want to add a column
and right click the cell.
Step 2: Click the Insert option from the context menu that
appears.
Step 3: Select the Entire Column from the dialog box and click
the OK button. A column will be inserted to the left of the
selected cell.
