Pre-lesson:-
1. Divide the class into days of the week.
2. Each group sings their line(s) from the song in the previous lesson. Everyone sings the
chorus.
Lesson development:-
3. Teacher says, e.g. I go swimming at the weekend. Ask a pupils Do you? Do you go
swimming at the weekend?. Prompt a short answer: Yes, I do / No, I don’t.
4. Pupils ask and answer the same question around the class in open pairs. (21st CA)
5. Pupils look at the pictures. Elicit what they can see to check understanding of watch TV.
Play the recording. Pupils point and compare answers in pairs. (CD2 25)
ACTIVITIES
6. Play the next recording. Pupils listen and repeat in chorus. Pupils take turn to practise the
question and answers in pairs.
7. Make group of four or six. Demonstrate the activity. Ask Do you … ? question to the pupils
on your left. If he/she answers Yes, I do, he/she asks another question to the person on
their left. If he/she answers No, I don’t, the game changes direction and he/she asks the

3. Pupils compare their ideas in pairs before the class check. Check understanding of This

one. They compare their answer in pairs.
2. Write much and fun on the board, using a red pen for the u. Separate out the three
phonemes in the words and say each one separately (e.g. m-u-ch) before saying the whole
word.

3. Pupils repeat This isn’t much fun after you. Pupils find the speech bubble in the story

Pre-lesson:-
Write play in a circle on the board. Elicit free time activities which use the verb play, e.g. play
the piano. Create a word map around play with these activities. Pupils copy the word map into
their notebooks.
Lesson development:-
1. Pupils look at the text. Elicit poem. Tell pupils to look carefully at the pictures and at the
poem. Elicit what activities they can see. Elicit sleep and perfect.
2. Pupils read the poem silently to find out what days the boy does the activities.
ACTIVITIES 3. Read the poem aloud. Pupils listen. Read the poem in sections. Pupils repeat. Read the
whole poem with the pupils.
4. Next to the play word map on the board, brainstorm all the other free time activities from
the unit. (21st CA)
5. Pupils write a poem in their exercise book, using S Activity 1 text as a model. (HOTS)
6. Pupils illustrate / present their poems. (CBA)
7. Teacher distributes worksheet as a homework.
Post-lesson:-
In group of six, pupils take turns to read their poems to their friends.
