Instructions for Remote Proctored Exams

Standard instructions

• Students need to take the exam in a silent, well-lit, and exclusive room to ensure no disturbance and distraction during
the exam.
• Students MUST take the exam on a clean desk with sufficient space to place the Laptop / Desktop.
• The duration of each examination is 90 minutes.
• It is a multiple-choice question (MCQ) type test.
• The number of Questions to be attempted is 100
• The allotted time is 90 mins. The clock will be set at the server. The countdown timer at the top right of the screen will
display the remaining time available for you to complete the test.
• Correct answer carries 1 Mark each
• There is No negative marking
• The passing percentage is 50%.
• The test can be submitted by clicking the Submit Test Button. In case the test is not submitted properly, result may not be
processed
• The examination will end automatically after the allotted time is over
• In case the candidate is involved in any unethical activity, he shall be liable to be debarred from the examination.

• A candidate should login the test and get himself/herself approved half an hour before the scheduled time by entering the
User ID and password. User ID is Roll No. of candidate and password is Date of Birth of candidate in ddmmyyyy format.
• After logging in with correct credentials, a candidate should click his photo & ID Card Photo and wait for Approval from
NIELIT’s Online Approvers (Candidates must bring original Aadhaar card or Pan card / Driving License/Voter card or any valid
Photo ID proof.)
• This test will be proctored and is to be given on a desktop or laptop which has a webcam/camera. The exam will be remotely
proctored by our Online Proctors during the test
• Candidates should follow all the warnings given by proctors. Anyone using unfair means will be disqualified immediately.
• Once the test starts, the candidate will not be allowed to change the screen. The test will be auto-submitted after warnings
if the screen moves to any other tab/application.
• The test will be auto-submitted after the given duration once it starts.
• All questions are confidential and proprietary to NIELIT. Any attempts to reproduce the questions through screenshots,
camera shots, copying on paper or any other means will result in immediate disqualification from the process and strict legal
action.
Mandatory Hardware Requirements

PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLINE PROCTORED EXAMS CAN BE TAKEN USING MICROSOFT WINDOWS OS MACHINES ONLY. OTHER SYSTEMS LIKE MAC /
MACBOOK / MACBOOK AIR / LINUX OS / CHROME OS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED FOR TAKING ONLINE PROCTORED EXAMINATIONS. IN CASE THE
STUDENT DOESN’T HAVE A WINDOWS OS MACHINE CURRENTLY, HE / SHE WOULD NEED TO ARRANGE FOR THE SAME COMPLYING WITH
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS BELOW FOR TAKING ONLINE PROCTORED EXAMINATIONS

Laptop or Desktop with the following configuration

• 4GB RAM minimum


• Core2 Duo (Intel or AMD) processor or above
• Functioning in-built primary camera in laptop OR functioning attached primary camera in desktop
• Functioning mic (inbuilt or attached) for audio
• Software Installation rights for the user in the laptop or desktop concerned (if you plan to use an office machine for
taking the exam, your employer should agree and give you the required permissions. If you are unsure of getting the
requisite permissions, please arrange for an alternate machine).
• In case you have custom hardware (e.g. high-end graphics card) attached to your laptop / desktop, it is required that such
custom hardware is disabled or disconnected. Candidates needs to have rights on the system to do this activity.

Mandatory Connectivity and Power Requirements

• Minimum Network speed of 2 Mbps (Mobile Hotspot not recommended).


• Uninterrupted Power / UPS for Desktop used for taking the exam. If the Laptop is used, the battery should be
charged in full to provide power backup in case of any outage during the exam.
• Uninterrupted Power / UPS for network router. Please have a suitable UPS that provides power backup for
your network router for the full duration of the exam.
• Recommended Browser: Google Chrome(Updated version)
