(a) Planning is deciding in advance what to do, how to do and for whom to do.
However before planning one has to follow some steps. (Koontz and
O`Donell), Explain the steps managers follow while planning for an
organization. (15marks)
(b)As a management student, explain the benefits of having a well spelt out
plan for a particular organization. (10 marks)

Management is an activity concerned with guiding human and physical


resources such that organizational goals can be achieved.
a) Discuss the main features of Management (10 Marks)
b) Explain the levels of management highlighting the key skills required at
every level. Prepare this paper (15 Marks)

Management is defined by Terry and Franklin (2003) as a distinct process


consisting of the activities of planning, organizing, actuating and controlling
performed to determine and accomplish stated objectives with the use of
human resources and other resources.
