Project Title: Postmodern Narratives: Critical Analysis and Creative Reconstruction

Instructions for the Project (Due Date 8th May)
1. Selection of a Novel (3 Marks)
o Choose a novel that exemplifies postmodern literature.

o Provide a brief justification for your selection, explaining how it aligns


with postmodern themes and techniques.
2. Analysis of Postmodern Elements (4 Marks)
o Identify and discuss key postmodern themes in the novel (e.g.,
fragmentation, metafiction, irony, intertextuality).
o Analyze the narrative style and techniques that reflect postmodernism.

o Support your analysis with relevant examples from the text and critical
perspectives of critics.
3. Presentation Quality (3 Marks)
o Organize your content logically and present it in a clear, structured
manner.
o Use slides, visuals, and an engaging speaking style to enhance
understanding.
4. Creative Rewrite – Twisting the Ending (5 Marks)
o Rewrite the last five pages of the novel with an alternate ending and
present in the class.
o Ensure the new ending maintains a postmodern approach (e.g., irony,
ambiguity, metafiction).
o Your rewritten section should be original, coherent, and engaging.

Submission Guidelines:

● The project should be presented in class, accompanied by a slideshow.

● The rewritten ending should be submitted as a written document.

● Cite all sources appropriately.
