FIRST DESTINATION OUTCOMES REPORT
The First Destination Survey is administered annually by University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh Career and Professional
Development using Handshake. The survey asks baccalaureate degree graduates to identify primary post-graduation
outcome status. The survey content and procedures follow the National Association of Colleges and Employers
(NACE) standards.
Data was collected from baccalaureate degree candidates prior to graduation and through follow-up emails sent
to graduates six months after graduation. Graduates who had already completed the survey were invited to update
their previous responses if their post-graduation status had changed. Outcome information was also collected from
campus community members, telephone calls and web research. It is also notable that only the primary outcome
upon graduation is reported for each individual graduate. For example, a graduate working full time while attending
graduate school part time is reported only once—as either employed or continuing their education.
In total, 1,445 graduates are included in this report. The results reflect students from the Class of 2023–24 who were
on the official graduation list and awarded a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh during the
2023–24 academic year, including graduates from fall 2023, spring 2024 and summer 2024.

WHE RE A RE THEY NOW? When I started my undergraduate career,
I wasn’t sure which path I wanted to take,
so I completed my associate degree at the
Fox Cities campus before transferring to
UWO’s main campus. It was on the main
campus that I applied to be a McNair Scholar,
began studying psychology, and became very
involved in research as a McNair Scholar and
research assistant. This allowed me to strengthen
professional relationships with faculty that mentored me
through the research process and through applying to doctoral programs. For
me, the MENTORSHIP OF FACULTY in my department and the McNair staff
was instrumental to my success. I would strongly encourage students, especially
first-generation students, to prioritize seeking mentorship and guidance as they
complete their undergraduate degrees.
