Dear Tourism teacher

Data handling is a source-based single-sitting assessment task, where


learners engage with and analyse data. (Abridged Section 4
Amendments of the CAPS for Tourism, Implementation: January 2021,
Reference Number 4.4.2)

This task is linked to the following content topics:


 Regional Tourism
 Domestic Tourism Growth Strategy
 Marketing

Skills included in the task:

•Organising data
•Presenting data
•Interpreting data
•Discussing data

Every Grade 11 Tourism teacher is expected to draw up a marking


guideline. Please DO NOT use any marking guidelines or resources
from the internet or social media, do NOT buy from any other source -
this poses a significant danger that the task will be declared invalid.
Developing your own marking guideline, will enable you to better
prepare your learners for the task BEFORE the scheduled assessment
session takes place
