Dear Tourism teacher
Data handling is a source-based single-sitting assessment task, where learners
engage with and analyse data. (Abridged Section 4 Amendments of the CAPS
for Tourism, Implementation: January 2021, Reference Number 4.4.2).Adapted
from KZN

This task is linked to the following content topics:

 Mapwork
 Domestic Tourism
 Tourism Attractions
 Sustainable and Responsible Tourism

Skills included in the task:

•Discussing data

Every Grade 10 Tourism teacher is expected to draw up a marking guideline.


Please DO NOT use any marking guidelines or resources from the internet or social
media, do NOT buy from any other source - this poses a significant danger that the
task will be declared invalid. Developing your own marking guideline, will enable
you to better prepare your learners for the task BEFORE the scheduled assessment

Refer to the infographic below and then answer the questions that follow
