Gauge:

needles.

Method:
The sweater is knit in the round, starting from the bottom. When the
body has been knit up to the underarms, it is set aside, and the sleeves
knit separately. The three pieces are then joined on a circular needle,
except for a few stitches for grafting under the sleeves. Then, it’s time
to knit the yoke and incorporate the yoke pattern using the stranded
colorwork technique. After casting off at the neckline, the underarm
stitches are grafted together using a Kitchener stitch.

Body:
Cast on 100/112/120/124/132 stitches with color B on a 4.5mm circular
needle.

Join in a circle and knit 10 rounds of rib as follows: repeat *k2, p2* until
the end.

Switch to a 6mm needle and knit one round in color B. Increase evenly
through the round 8/8/6/8/6 stitches.

Knit pattern A.

After the pattern, knit one round and increase evenly through the round
4/0/2/4/4 stitches.

For a fitted body:

Knit 12 rounds. If you prefer a longer body than 40/42/42/43/44 cm add a

few rounds.

Place a marker between the first and last stitches of the round.
Knit 56/60/64/68/72 stitches and place another marker. Knit the
remaining stitches of the round.

Decrease 4 stitches in the next round as follows:

K1, k2tog, knit to 3 stitches before marker, ssk, k1, slip marker,
k1, k2tog, knit to 3 stitches before marker, ssk, k1.

Repeat the decrease round two times every 7th row.

Knit 12 rounds, and on the 13th round, increase as follows:

K1, m1 left, knit to 1 stitch before marker, m1 right, slip

marker, k1, m1 left, knit to 1 stitch before marker, m1 right.
Repeat the increase round two times every 7th round.

Knit until the body measures 40/42/42/43/44 cm or as long as you prefer.

For a straight unisex cut body:

Sleeves:
Cast on 28/28/28/32/32 stitches with color B on 4.5mm needles and join
in the round. Mark the middle of the underarm with a marker between
the first and last stitches.

Knit rib as before.

Switch to 6mm needles and increase 2/2/2/4/4 stitches evenly throughout
the round (30/30/30/36/36).

Knit pattern A.

After the pattern, continue knitting in color A.

Work two increases every 8 rounds, M1L after the first stitch and M1R
before the last stitch, 6/7/8/6/7 times.

Then, there should be 42/44/46/48/50 stitches on the needle.

Continue knitting until the sleeve measures 49/50/51/52 cm (or as long

as you prefer).

Put the 3 last and 4 first stitches on a scrap yarn/stitch holder.

Set aside and knit the other sleeve the same way.

Yoke:
Start by marking the underarm stitches on each side of the body.

Thread the 3 last and 4 first stitches on a piece of scrap yarn/yarn

holder.

Knit stitches from the first sleeve (35/37/39/41/43 stitches) onto the body
needle so that the stitches on the scrap yarn face each other.

Knit the next 49/53/57/61/65 stitches from the body.

Thread the next 7 stitches from the body on scrap yarn/stitch holder.

Knit stitches from the second sleeve (35/37/39/41/43 stitches) onto the
body needle so that the stitches on the scrap yarn face each other.

Knit the last 49/53/57/61/65 stitches from the body.

There should be 168/180/192/204/216 stitches on the needle.

Knit chart B and decrease stitches as shown. All decreases are made by
knitting 2tog or ssk.

As the stitches on the needles decrease, change to double-point needles

or a smaller circular needle. After the chart, there should be a total of
52/52/56/56/60 stitches on the needles.

After the chart, switch to 4.5mm needles and continue with color B. Knit
the rib as before for 4-6 rounds.

Cast off loosely.

Finishing:
Graft the underarm stitches using a Kitchener stitch. For a good result,
put the stitches on a pair of double-point needles before starting.
(Video instructions can be found here: https://youtu.be/ArQELrfVI_E )

Weave in all loose ends.

Wash the sweater in lukewarm water with mild shampoo and/or

conditioner, and lay it out to dry.

I do not recommend machine washing if you used Lopi wool since that
could destroy the sweater.
