Question 2: HIGHLIGHTS *

Please provide 3-4 words/adjectives to describe yourself. List some examples that support why you
picked those words to describe you. The examples should NOT be short answers so please provide
stories/examples of the things you are talking about

I am hard-working, determined, and being bold and clear to people about how I feel about
a course.
For example, in my freshman year of High School, I had a course named Honors Biology;
it was a harder level of science than I could have, but I had an option to drop this and go
to academics. That might sound fair, but it was not something I wanted to do. I stood up,
became bold and said to myself to not to drop but do my best to improve.
Even in fact, in science, I had no interest, but I was determined to pull off a good GPA
from the start, so I thought about letting this honors course be on my schedule for my
first-year, so that if I improve, it would increase my GPA nicely. Then I was determined to
take that course; every day I came into class, I took notes in a different way than other
students did. I prefer to write them by hand instead of typing. Though this style was old-
fashioned, I used it every moment. My grades did not improve; I could have dropped it
due to failure, but I have kept doing working hard. I reviewed my notes and watched You
Tube Videos to understand the concept and started asking questions to the teacher, and
my grades on my next exam improved slightly but it was sign of right track.
I started Unit 2 in Honors Bio called Biomolecules. This unit was harder than ever; I did
not do well even after working hard, but in test grade I got a one-point improvement, which
given my confidence. Dr Lollin took the first pop quiz, and I was in shock as I did not
prepare for it, I had answered half of the questions, I left blank. Why? Because I could not
answer, and the grade was bad – well, too bad, in fact. Then I thought," Alright, I must
change things, turn them around and start reviewing the concepts every weekend,
Saturday and Sunday, so they are fresh in my mind. I started doing a revision before
coming into class, so that we are prepared for pop quizzes.
Well then, I went directly to the Unit of Cellular Respiration. The teacher, by far, had
observed that I was working hard and determined and up for this challenge. So, I asked
him what I was doing wrong. Why are the grades not leveling up by percentage? Then he
said that for this unit he had posted a video; he advised the whole class to watch it while
telling me to watch and take notes of that video and ask him any questions the next day.
He tried to appoint me a study buddy, but I declined that offer, as I study by myself only.
Well, then I suppose I did exactly what he said, and then came the exam of it. I kept
reviewing in classes, even answering the questions he asked us. I wrote and explained
everything in detail with my open-ended response, and he loved it and wrote a note that I
have started improving now on this course. The result was much better than before.
The reading from the textbooks, the videos, and additional class notes were all helpful.
Hence, it proved why I choose these words to describe myself.

Question 3: COLLEGE MAJOR AND CAREER GOAL *

What is your intended college major and how does that tie to your career goal? If you are unsure
about your major, you can write that here. Please share things you might be interested in pursuing.

My intended major is in Business Administration and something that will help me out with
my career could be Entrepreneurship. My career in the future will be to handle a business
as a partner or start my own venture.

Question 4: FAVORITE CLASSES: *

What are your favorite classes? Why?

My favorite classes are Business classes like accounting 1, Marketing, Personal Finance.
Though I like Math classes like Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 because the teachers in the class
make it easy to understand the material, but I have an interest in business, Marketing,
Finance and Accounting.

Question 5: ACTIVITIES *
Please include ALL EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVTITIES HERE. Please include anything outside of the
school day such as clubs, activities, sports, travel sports, religious organizations, music lessons,
martial arts, competitive dance, or gymnastics, volunteer work, internships, jobs, summer programs,
responsibilities at home of anything else you think you should share.

Besides school, I participated in a lot of clubs, like badminton, chess, bridge, FBLA, SGA,
Health and Wellness, Animation, ICCA. From the FBLA club, I got volunteer hours, like for
Haunted High, which is basically, an event made in our school during Halloween, I was
picked for the decorations' committee.
I have completed a lot of sponsorship runs for Mission Life basketball, basically it is a
charity basketball game fundraiser type organization where we raised money for the
Charity Embrace Kids foundation. I worked with a group of 4 people and collected $ 200
and gave it to the officers. I had secured a sponsorship which awarded me extra points
at that club. Points are basically like how many hours you have spent volunteering, but
extra points are awarded if work is done more than expected.

Question 6: ACCOMPLISHMENTS *
What is an accomplishment that you would like me to highlight in your letter of recommendation?
Example: My work with the lantern fly traps in Piscataway was on the news. I broke the state record
in swimming. I overcame my fear of public speaking by becoming the student representative to the
board of education.

One of the accomplishments I would like to highlight in my letter of recommendation is the

time I devoted to community service to the Kennedy and Westgard Public libraries. I have
devoted around 100 hours of volunteering service there. Also 18 hours of volunteering for
the FBLA club. Whenever I have been given an opportunity to volunteer, I always sign up
promptly and reached before time to the event. Under some circumstances, when I was not
able to show up, I always informed well before the time so that alternate arrangement can
be done to cover up my slot. I used to maintain my records of all volunteer hours devoted in
an excel sheet.

Question 7: TRANSCRIPT *
Is your transcript an accurate reflection of your ability? What factors have influenced your school
performance either positively or negatively? If you have nothing to respond with for this question,
please write N/A.

N/A

Question 8: CHALLENGES *
Are there any personal circumstances or challenges that you have had to navigate in your life? What
is the most difficult situation you have had to face? How did you handle it? PLEASE DO NOT SHARE
ANYTHING HERE THAT YOU WOULD NOT WANT MENTIONED IN YOUR LETTER OF REC!

Yes, I have faced challenges and work hard to achieve them.

The most difficult situation was when I saw my average GPA for first year and sophomore
year, it was not meeting the college GPA admission rate, which was not a good feeling for
me. So, I talked to my counselor about this, and he told me that colleges mostly look at
Junior year, the year right now, so if I do good in this year and get higher GPA then it will
increase my average, and college will see how determined I was. I accepted the challenge
and from then I have worked hard every minute to raise it. On this path, I come across
failures but to improve and work harder to succeed every moment in my life.
