in three countries in 2007.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons
where relevant.

Word Count: 156

Response:

The table illustrates the fees in US Dollars for the postgraduate degree students from overseas
paid in various countries in 2007.

Overall, the science course took the lead in prices, while the meals and accomodation showed the
least expensive fees.

Regarding to the two dominant fields of study courses such as computing and science, the figure

slight difference, 27 000 & 24 000 and 29 000 & 25 000, respectively.

In terms of relatively low-cost branches, including arts, commerce and meals & accomodation, A
country posessed the same prices for all, showing 8 000. The B and C countries had the same
costs for two sections, for arts 18 000 and for commerce 19 000. The meals & accomodation,
however, differed slightly, presenting 17 000 for the B country and 11 000 for the C one.
TASK 2
Question:

Some people believe that showing crime-related content on television and in newspapers has
negative consequences on society and should be restricted. To what extent do you agree or
disagree?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or
experience.

Word Count: 389

Response:

In the era of television and newspaper articles, some believe that broadcasting and writing
crime-involved content can posess certain detrimental effects and ought to be banned while others
disagree with it. Personally, I believe this type of media can benefit greatly as well as having several
drawbacks.

On the one hand, the crime-related media can have several drawbacks. Firstly, the attention of the
society can be directed in wrong direction rather than more essential matters. People can end up
discussing those crime involved situations more than focusing on their daily activities. Secondly, a
society can benefit more from useful and educational contents instead of crime-directed ones. By
this, informative TV shows or articles, such as language or finance focused, could result in
significant improvement of particular community. What`s more, younger generation can get
brainwashed due to such contents. Content related medias can posess detrimental effects in young
members of society serving as an encouragement for them. They may find themselves interested in
sugar-coated criminal activities that may bring a fortune in one`s lifetime. Taking all
above-mentioned factors, broadcasting or writing about crime can be seen as an unwise decision.

On the other hand, the benefits of reporting harsh crime-related content on broadcasts and in
papers tend to far surpass the certain disadvantages. Although, the society`s focus can be
disrupted with certain types of criminal events, the rise of awareness is a key aspect. Parents
along with school teachers are usually updated about the potential risks of the circumstance and
avoid their children being included in those kinds of situations. As a result, the younger generation
can be well-educated regarding the crime-involved situations. Furthermore, the educational matter
of adults is another positive aspect. The presence of that type of media can be a necessary lesson
for the other people of certain society. When criminals are identified and put behind the bars due to
their crimes, ordinary people can stop themselves from committing crime after seeing the negative
outcomes. In addition, young members of society nearly always find such type of stories
enterntaining, as a result they can expose themselves to reading. Consequently, their reading skills
along with the critical thinking abilities may thrive. Finally, remaining the society in the loop with
these types of media can be a happy one for authorities and individuals of particular society.

In conclusion, ...
