ADMISSION NOTICE for 2018
School of Languages and Linguistics (SLL), Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Jadavpur University
Applications are invited for the following Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma Courses in Indian and
Foreign Languages offered by the School of Languages and Linguistics, Jadavpur University. Courses
(except Functional and Communicative English) are of approximately one year duration and will
commence in late January 2017, with final examinations at the end of December 2018. Classes are held
twice in a week in the evening between 5 and 8 pm.
Minimum qualification: High School Graduation (Class XII/ Higher Secondary/ or equivalent).
Indian candidates should apply on the prescribed form available at the Enquiry Office, Jadavpur
University on payment of Rs 100, or download the ‘School of Languages and Linguistics’ form from the
website and enclose a DD of Rs 100 payable at Kolkata. They should submit their applications by 28th
December, 2017 in the information center Jadavpur University.
Foreign candidates should download the ‘Application Form for Foreign Nationals’ from the University
website and scan the filled-up form as a PDF attachment, with an e-mail giving any other necessary
information (certificate of High School Graduation : Class XII/ Higher Secondary/ or equivalent, copy of
the Passport), to (1) [email protected] / (2) [email protected] by 28th of December, 2017
A list of selected Indian candidates and the Foreign Nationals will be posted on the University Website
on 5th January, 2018. Admission procedures for the Indian & Foreign Nationals will be completed by 2nd
week of January, except. In the case of foreign and outstation candidates who may apply by letter or
email to the Director, School of Languages and Linguistics, at either of the above email ids, for earlier or
later admission in case of visa or logistic requirements.
