1.
Your family rules and their benefits
My family has some rules. Firstly, one of the most important rules in my family is that each
member of my family has to be responsible for household chores. For example, my mother goes
shopping and prepares the meals, my dad mends things around the house in his free time, my sister
does the laundry and I usually clean the house. Secondly, we always do morning exercise every
day because we want to have better health. Finally, my sister and I must be home before 10 p.m
because my parents are very strict and they want us to be safe from dangerous thing in the streets.
In spite of having to obey a lot of rules, I feel comfortable and safe because I know that my
parents want the best things for me. These rules will make us a close-knit family and supportive
of one another.
2. Are there any conflicts between you and your parents? Where do these conflicts come
from? How do you solve the problems of those conflicts?
-Nowadays, because of the development of society, there are many parent-child relationship
problems.
-First, most parents still treat us like small kids and do not often respect our privacy. They maybe
go into our room without knocking the door or read our messages, diaries, ... However, as we
grow up, we want to be more independent. - Second, parents are always comparing us with
someone who is well-informed in our class. It makes us feel sad and painful.
- Another source of conflict is the way we spend our free time. Parents may think that we should
spend our time in a more useful way rather than surfing the internet or chatting.
- Conflicts arise from different viewpoints between parents and children. Open communication
can really help to create mutual trust and understanding. If we find it difficult to talk, maybe we
had better write a letter or a note sharing our feelings to our parents.
3. If you have a chance to talk to your parents about your complaint/ problem, what will
you talk about? What should teenagers and parents do when there are problems?
- If I have a chance to talk to my parents about my complaint, I will tell them that I don't like
being compared with someone. Since I was a child, they have put a big expectation on me and
wanted me to be successful in life, so they keep comparing me with others to learn their good
things. I can understand the reason why they have done like that but when they just talk about my
friends’ achievements, it pressures me a lot and makes me feel terrible about myself. I will tell
them about my feeling when they’re doing that, and we will find a way to work out the problem
that we all agree with.
When there are problems, teenagers and parents should calm down first and have a small talk
about it because when we are angry, we can’t control our emotions and actions, which can lead to
conflicts. Parents shouldn’t put too much pressure on their childen. Let they relax and feel ready
to share their feeling with you. By the way, children should believe in their parents, be open and
honest, tell them about the problem you are facing with. I believe that effective communication
will not only help a family solve their problem on their own but will also make them understand
each other more.
4: Who has had a significant influence on you, your parents, your friends or your teachers?
Explain your reasons?
- The person who had a great influence on me was my grandmother. Since my childhood she has
always been a caring person and loved me very much.
-She is still a good friend of mine whom I share many things with.
-She is very kindhearted and giving person who always tries to help others in whatever way she
can.
-She is a successful mother of four children including my father. She has devoted her life to her
kids and educated them properly and when her grandchildren came along, she did the same for
them.
-She has a charming personality and lights up whatever room she’s in with her smile.
-She is wise and always has the best advice to offer.
-There are several reasons why she was an influential person to me when I was a child.
+The most important reason is because of her unconditional love and affection for me.
+She was a good mentor who could show me positive ways of living and guided me in my
distressed time. Talking to her was a soothing experience and the stories she told were always
entertaining but also full of morality. I learned many positive attitudes and good thinking from
her.
- Even now, she is someone I can confide in and seek guidance from.
-She’s always there to support me, or anyone else who asks.
- Her openness and kindness have been a real influence on my life.
5. Talk about your personal problems? What did you do to deal with the problems?
Everyone has problems in life and mine is lacking time management skills. The clearest sign is
that I find it hard to schedule tasks effectively and I don’t know how to prioritize tasks. And for a
long time looking for the solutions, I have known 3 tips to use the time wisely and properly.
The first way is to make a schedule and stick to it. For example, you could start planning your
time days or weeks in advance by making a to-do lists. So that you can know what you need to do
– what needs to get done that day.
Another way is taking regular breaks. Whenever you find yourself feeling tired and stressed, take
a break for 10 to 15 minutes. Too much stress can take a toll on your body and affect your
productivity, so you should take a walk, listen to some music, or do some quick stretches.
I realize that social media are really annoying and destruct me from my working process and slow
down my productivity. To avoid that, I close everything, ignore it and focus on my real work. It’s
hard to do at the first time, but if we try to do it frequently you will find it is not that hard.
6. Do you think romantic relationships affect students’ lives? Why or why not?
Love is a beautiful and necessary thing for everyone. However, depending on age, love will have
different effects. I think romantic relationships will affect student’s lives. There are two types of
influence, good and bad. Firstly, when you have a romantic relationship, if it is a healthy
relationship, then both will help each other to study, go up in learning together. And if it is not a
healthy relationship, it will adversely affect academic performance, will affect the lovers
psychophysiology and even if in a moment of impulsiveness, things can happen that have serious
consequences. as important as an unwanted pregnancy. That greatly affects your health and future.
Second, school-age love will save great memories for life and in the end, when you meet the right
person, that person may be your life partner in the future. But anyway, still at school age, we
should listen to the advice of our parents and maintain love in the healthiest way. Don't let love
affect your studies or negatively affect your future.
7. Are you an independent student? In your opinion, what skills do teenagers need to
become independent? Explain your reasons.
-Some needed qualities should be gained to be an independent person.
-Firstly, finding information skills helps you think independently and make your own decisions. It
promotes problem-solving approaches and makes you become a self-reliant person.
-Coping with loneliness is the second important virtue. Lacking this skill may make you feel
depressed, and you are likely to make wrong decisions about your life.
-Last but not least, teens should learn how to set a goal and persistently pursue it. A teen who
knows how to track his progress is possible to stay motivated.
- In short, equipping with the above skills is a big step in preparing girls or boys for independence
and leading a successful life in the future.
- Basing on the above criteria, I think/ I don’t think I am an independent person.
8. If you want to be independent, what skills are the most important for you? How can you
develop them?
-Becoming independent is essential for all people. There are some important skills they need to
have to become independent.
-Firstly, they need organizational skills which include time-organizing, money-organizing, and
task-organizing. An independent person is a person who knows clearly about what and when to do
and spend. Teenagers should be taught to consider everything by themselves.
-Secondly, they need some life skills such as doing housework. Many children don't know how to
make their bed after sleeping, and don't know how to wash their clothes without their mothers.
Everybody must do all the house chores when they live independently of their parents.
- Finally, they need to have interpersonal communication skills. These skills are vital when they
encounter difficulties. They need to talk with others to ask them for help if they can solve the
problems themselves Topic 9:
The last Covid-19 waves had led multiple households into a wide range of problems, which may
include essential food products, medical treatments or regular medicine as well as poverty. In
order to get rid of these issues, a few charity organizations were established. As a presentable high
school student, I have joined a couple of their campaigns in neighborhood and local areas. It is my
job to raise some money to help people in need, serving foods to disadvantaged people and
making donations. Among my journey, the act of getting involved in improving the community’s
life makes me feel delightful and incomparable. In addition, it also supports my academic and
social records as well as letting me feel much more sympathetic to the weaker community.
10. Why should we get involved in donating to charities and supporting people with
disabilities? How can we help them?
There are a lot of reasons why people donate to charity.
- Donating to charities teaches kids the importance of giving.
Teaching children to care about others is an important life lesson. When children watch you give,
they will grow up knowing that giving back is the right thing to do and follow in your footsteps.
So, donating to charity also helps you be a good role model for your kids.
- Donating to charities promotes the feelings of happiness.
Helping others may make you feel good. When you donate to a charity that is important to you,
you not only help them continue their vital work, but you’re also improving your emotional well-
being, a win-win situation.
- Donating to charities allows you to show gratitude.
Life is busy, and it can sometimes be easy to forget to show your gratitude for all that you have
been given. When we are ready to give and are researching a charity to support, this can remind us
of all that we have, and the act of donating to charity is a way to express our feelings of gratitude.
How can we help?
-As a student, we can help donating to charities and supporting people with disabilities in our
abilities. We can help charities arrange their activities such as receiving donations, distributing to
people in need or participating in fun- raising campaigns. We can also spend our weekend our
summer time helping prepare meals for homeless people, teaching disadvantages children learn
new things and life skills, doing chores for the elderly and becoming the acquaintances of lonely
people.
11. As a student what can you volunteer to do to help the community?
Volunteering is a voluntary act of an individual or group freely giving time for community
service. The community volunteering can be seen as the easiest way to improve our life because
we have to change, to improve from our local to our country and our Earth. Community
volunteers refers to people who are volunteer to work in their local community. This activity
commonly occurs through people who want to improve the local life, local government or
volunteer teams… And to improve our local community, our students can join hands to do easy
things:
-We can plant more trees together in the mountains and hills which are bared. Or we can plant
more flowers under the power poles, on the pavements… They will make our area more beautiful.
Make teams to pick up garbage on the streets, along beaches…
-We can help old people who are disabled or orphans by organizing a charity, visiting and taking
care for them, making conversations, playing with them…
-Or easily, if we see old people, disabled people want to cross the road, we can help them to cross
the road quickly. From volunteering, we can find new meaning and direction in our lives by
helping others.
Whatever our age or life situation, volunteering can help take our mind off our own worries, keep
us mentally stimulated, and add more taste to our life.
