 INTRODUCTION

The Bourg Book Press Xerox (BBP-X) is an accessory machine used to «crush» the
spine of the booklets made in an SBM stitcher - folder assembly. That feature makes
booklet stacking easier and reduces the volume of the stacks.

Spine is crushed by four rollers:

- the two upper rollers are mounted on moving arms and spring assembly.
- the two lower rollers are mounted on adjustable cams.

It is thus possible to adjust the crushing pressure depending on number and weight of
sheets in the booklet.

 MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENTS
Setting of the rollers pressure (spring).

Tighten nut «B» until washer «A» do not rotate. Then tighten further half a turn.

Roller setting.

Set thickness to «0», i.e., the lower rollers are in their highest position . The shafts of
the upper rollers must rest on the side walls (1) and you should be able to pass two
sheets of 80gsm paper (4024DP) (2) between the upper and lower rollers. 3 sheets can-
not pass. If required, adjust the gap by changing height of stop keys (A).

Make sure the eccentric shafts (B) are well tightened. Then adjust the upper pushers (3)
by means of eccentric shafts (B) until the contact surface between those 2 upper
pushers (3) is well tight (4) (the pushers need to be parallel) and the pushers need to
rest on the upper side of the upper roller shaft (5).

Servicing chain area rep. A.

NEVER USE COMMON LUBRICANT (GREASE,OIL OR VASELINE).

Clean the external part of the chain with dry cloth then spray a thin layer of «Moldry»
(drylubricant).

Using any other lubricant may result in stains on documents passing thru BBP-X.

Changes brought to the product may lead to non compatibility of spares or product spe-
cification changes.
The Tag Matrix allows to know whether this or that important change is or not implemen-
ted in the machine.
When installing, after factory delivery, such a change, it is important to tick the appro-
priate box(es) on the Tag Matrix, according to the instructions.
When ordering spares, it may be important to specify what boxes are ticked on the Tag
