leader, Astha revitalized the Moot
Society while excelling in national and
international moots, specializing in
International Humanitarian Law,
International Criminal Law, and Public

Tanya is a young and dynamic lawyer with a
keen interest in diverse areas of law,
particularly International Humanitarian Law
and International Criminal Law. She has
gained valuable experience working with
various legal databases and repositories,
offering editorial suggestions and legal
insights. During her time in practice, Tanya
was actively involved in litigation before
different courts in Delhi and its surrounding
regions, allowing her to develop a strong
understanding of courtroom procedures and
strategies. A talented mooter during her law
school days, Tanya has earned accolades in
several prestigious competitions, including
the Henry Dunant Moot, Red Cross Moot,
and the Nuremberg Moot Court. Her passion
for legal research and advocacy continues to
drive her professional journey.

RULES OF THE COMPETITION
I. GENERAL ELIGIBILITY
1.The competition is open to students currently enrolled in an undergraduate law program (5-
year or 3-year) in any recognized law college or university.
2.Each team shall comprise two speakers and one researcher. A two-member team is also
permitted (i.e., two speakers).
3.There is no cap on the number of teams per institution.
II. DRESS CODE
The dress code for all oral rounds shall be strictly professional.
1. Male Participants: Black formal coat and trousers (black or grey), white shirt, black tie, and
black formal shoes
2. Female Participants: Black full sleeve coat with white shirt and black/grey trousers or

A. General Guidelines
1.Each team must prepare memorials for both sides – Petitioner/Appellant and Respondent.
2.Memorials must be emailed in .docx and .pdf formats to [email protected] by 2025,
6:00 p.m. IST.
3.No revisions or additions shall be allowed after submission.
4.Memorials must be anonymous and must mention only the team code.
5.The memorials must contain the following:

B. Formatting Guidelines
1.Font: Times New Roman; Size 12 for body text, Size 10 for footnotes.
2.Line Spacing: 1.5 for body text; 1.0 for footnotes.
3.Citation Style: Harvard Bluebook (20th edition).
4.Margins: One inch on all sides.
5.Page Numbers: Top right corner.
6.Cover Page Colors:
Petitioner/Appellant: Blue
Respondent: Light Red
7.Plagiarism must not exceed 20% (excluding citations).
8.Penalty: 1 mark per day for late submission.

IV. ORAL ROUNDS
Preliminary Round
After the submission of memorials, 40 teams shall be selected on the basis of their memorial
scores. These 40 Teams shall advance to the preliminary rounds.
Duration: 30 minutes total (15 minutes per team, including rebuttal/sur-rebuttal).
Each speaker must speak for a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes.
Teams must inform time division to the Court Officer in advance.
Quarter-Finals
Top 8 teams will qualify.
Same time rules and structure as prelims.
Semi-Finals
Duration: 40 minutes (20 minutes per team, including rebuttal/sur-rebuttal).
Each speaker must speak for minimum 8 minutes, maximum 12 minutes.
Final Round
Duration: 60 minutes (30 minutes per team, including rebuttal/sur-rebuttal).
Each speaker must speak for minimum 12 minutes, maximum 15 minutes.

VI. CLARIFICATIONS
Participants may seek clarifications on the problem, by mailing their questions to
[email protected]VII. ONLINE CONDUCT GUIDELINES
All participants must ensure stable internet connectivity.
In case of technical difficulties, time extension may be granted. Persistent issues may lead to
assessment based on completed arguments.
The judges are at discretion to grant extension of time to a speaker on the grounds of
technical glitches, but the same cannot extend beyond five minutes per speaker. Any time
taken by the speaker beyond this, shall be deducted from the time alloted for presentation.
No use of devices apart from the system being used for participation.
Speakers must be clearly visible and unmuted during their speaking time.
Researchers may pass notes using chat/private messaging, subject to judges’ discretion.
