1. Laila loved walking in the woods near her house. One cool afternoon, she
went for a walk with her mom. The trees were covered in red, orange and
yellow leaves. The air smelled like pine needles. The cool breeze brushed
against her face as she walked. As they wandered down the path, the
woods became very quiet. The only sound was the crunch of leaves
under her feet. All of a sudden, a squirrel ran in front of them, holding an
acorn. He froze in place and stared at them. It was like he was trying to
decide if he could be their friend! Laila grinned at the squirrel, but then it
turned and ran up a tree. Laila and her mom decided to turn back. The
breeze was cooler now and the sun was starting to set. Laila hoped the
squirrel had somewhere warm to sleep tonight.

took a big jump to avoid a puddle. Emma could hear the clucking of
chickens, the mooing of cows and the buzzing of bees. She even heard a
rooster crowing. She smiled as a fluffy lamb ran up to her, and she gave
it a pat on the head. Then she followed her class to go feed the goats.

go outside. The rain had stopped but puddles were everywhere, and Sam
loved splashing through them. As he stomped along, he found a small,
muddy hill and decided it was the perfect spot to climb. In the middle of
climbing, Sam’s boot got stuck! He tried to pull it out, but the mud held
on tight. He tugged harder and harder. With a big “POP,” his boot came
free… but Sam fell back into a big, muddy puddle. Instead of being upset,
Sam laughed as mud splashed all around him. Just then, his friend,
Mandy, walked by. Seeing Sam covered in mud, she laughed and jumped
in to join him. They splashed and played until it was time to go home.
