Why is it important to
know the basic
occupations in
Mandarin?
It's helpful to know some basic
occupations in Mandarin, as it makes
discussion easier. When getting to know
one another, people frequently inquire
about one another's employment, and
having a conversation about occupations
enriches the relationship.

OCCUPATIONS IN THE TOURISM INDUSTRY

➢ Flight attendant / cabin crew – kōng fú yuan (kong fuuu yeeen)

SAMPLE SENTENCE CONSTRUCTION USING MANDARIN OCCUPATION:
He: tā (teeeh)
She: yī (yiiii)
Is / Are: shì (shiiih)
A: a
Not: bú (buuuh)
They: tā men (tuuuhmeeen)

He is a Doctor. = tā shi yī sheng


She is not aTeacher = yī shì bú lǎo shī
They are engineers = tā men shì gong chéng shī

❑ If you want to ask a question, just simply add MA at the end of the sentence.

Is he a doctor? = tā shi yī sheng ma?
