The Impact of Lithium-Ion Battery Technology on the Battery

The following a re t he key poin ts you should k now abou t Lit hiu m-Ion
ba t tery tech nology:
The ba t tery will disch a rge on its own, even when it is not in st alled in

t he bia s cu r ren t required for th e in tegr a ted elect ronics.
By t h e n a t u re of Li t hiu m-Ion cells, t he b a t t ery will self-disch a rge.

How to Improve the Performance of the Battery

Installation Guideline
Position t he monitor in a loca tion t h a t does not a r tificially increase t h e
oper a ting temper a t u re of t he ba t t ery. See “Loca tion” on p age 3-3 for

Charging Guideline
Use t he Ca dex SM a r t Two+ ch a rger to ch a rge t he ba t t ery ins tead of

The C a dex SMa r t Two+ ch a rger m ain t ains a lower ba t tery cell

Storage Guideline
Store t he ba tt ery ou tside of t he monitor a t a t em per a t u re bet ween 20°C

When t he ba t tery is stored in side a monitor t h a t is powered by a n AC

(50°F to 59°F) above t h e room’s a mbien t temper a t u re. This red uces
t he life of t he ba t tery.
When t he ba t tery is s tored inside a monitor t h a t is con tin uou sly
