I. Compensation & benefits for Field Engineer/Field Supervisor (excluding RDSS project):
i. Field Engineers will be paid monthly remuneration in the pay band of ₹ 30,000-3%-1,20,000/- with
initial basic pay of ₹ 30,000/- + Industrial DA + HRA+ Perks @ 35% of Basic Pay with an annual CTC
of ₹ 8.9 Lakhs approx.
ii. Field Supervisors will be paid monthly remuneration in the pay band of ₹ 23,000-3%-1,05,000/- with
initial basic pay of ₹ 23,000/- + Industrial DA + HRA+ Perks @35% of Basic Pay with an annual CTC of
₹ 6.8 Lakhs approx.
II. Compensation & benefits for Field Engineer/Field Supervisor (for RDSS project):
i. Field Engineer will be paid monthly remuneration in the pay band of ₹ 30,000-3%-1,20,000/- with
initial basic pay of ₹ 30,000/- + Industrial DA + HRA + Perks* with an annual CTC of ₹ 8.9 Lakhs
approx.
*Perks @ maximum 35 % of basic pay (shall be paid as Variable Pay, subject to performance criteria
defined by Management).
ii. Field Supervisors will be paid monthly remuneration in the pay band of ₹ 23,000-3%-1,05,000/- with
initial basic pay of ₹ 23,000/- + Industrial DA + HRA + Perks* with an annual CTC of ₹ 6.8 Lakhs
approx.
*Perks @ maximum 35 % of basic pay (shall be paid as Variable Pay, subject to performance criteria
defined by Management).
On successful completion of every year of engagement, Field Engineer/ Field Supervisor will be eligible for
annual increment at the rate of 3% during subsequent year of engagement. The increment will be given from
the first day of the month subsequent to the month in which the candidate completes the year.
OTHER BENEFITS:
1. HRA will be paid as per HRA rules of POWERGRID.
2. Contract personnel will be entitled for reimbursement of official mobile call charges /rentals as per extant policy.
3. Contract personnel will be covered under EPF & EPS MP Act 1952, Payment of Gratuity 1972 and corresponding
rules in POWERGRID.
4. Contract personnel will be entitled to 12 day’s Casual Leave, 10 day’s Sick Leave and 30 day’s Earned Leave in a
year. In addition, EL encashment, Maternity Leave, Quarantine Leave, EOL and Special Casual Leave as per leave
rules shall be admissible. No other leave/ encashment is admissible including SAL/OH/Special Disability Leave.
5. Contract personnel will be entitled for medical benefits for self during the first year of engagement and for self
and family (Spouse & two dependent children) from second year onwards of engagement. The medical benefit
is limited to maximum one month’s pay for every year for OPD cases. Medical insurance is provided in case of
IPD treatments during tenure of engagement.
6. Contract personnel will be covered under Group Personal Accident Insurance scheme of POWERGRID.
7. Contract personnel will be eligible for PF deductions @ 12% of Basic Pay and DA per month.
“POWERGRID” may provide opportunity to eligible Fixed Term Employees- FTEs (after completion of minimum 02
years tenure in POWERGRID subsequent to recruitment as FTE based on this recruitment) for selection to regular
posts, through internal selection process among FTEs. Such opportunity shall only be provided to FTEs who are
serving as on the date of such notification (for selection to regular posts), subject to requirement from time-to-time,
based on their performance during engagement in POWERGRID and as per the policy of POWERGRID.”
1. Reservation/ relaxation/ concession to OBC (NCL)/ EWS/ SC/ ST/ ExSM/PwBD/ Victims of Riots shall be as per
Government of India directives for posts reserved for the respective category.
2. Relaxation in Marks pertaining to essential qualification for SC/ST/PwBD/ExSM candidates: Qualifying
Marks in essential qualification is relaxed to pass marks subject to the post being reserved for the respective
category.
3. Persons suffering from not less than 40% of the relevant disability shall only be eligible for the benefit under
PwBD.
4. Relaxation in Upper Age Limit:
a) For OBC(NCL) 3 years (for the posts reserved for the respective category)
b) For SC/ ST 5 years (for the posts reserved for the respective category)
c) For SC/ ST Submission of relevant Caste Certificate in the prescribed format issued by a
Competent Authority.
d) For PwBD/ Submission of disability certificate in prescribed format issued by the Government
PwD Medical Board.
e) Ex- Submission of relevant Discharge certificate etc. in the prescribed format issued by
Servicemen/ the Competent Authority.
DESM Ex-Servicemen candidates whose experience of service in the Armed Forces has been
equated by the Government of India with qualification prescribed in this
advertisement, then the said experience shall be acceptable as an induction level
qualification for the said post in this recruitment.
The Ex-Servicemen candidate shall however have to produce certificate issued
by respective Armed Forces stating that their experience/ training has been
equated to or has equivalency of required level of qualification, failing which
their candidature will not be considered.
e) Victims of Submission of relevant Age relaxation cum Domicile certificate in the prescribed
riots format issued by a Competent Authority.
6. In case Caste/ Category certificate is issued in a language other than Hindi or English, candidates are advised to
produce a certified translation of the same in either Hindi or English at the time of Document Verification, if called
for.
7. Armed forces personnel applying for Civil posts under Ex-Servicemen category have to submit the Form of
Undertaking / Proforma Certificate for employed official as per Govt. of India, Department of Personnel & Training
OM No. 36034/2/91-Estt. (SCT) dated 03rd April 1991.
SELECTION PROCESS
1. Interested and eligible candidates shall register for POWERGRID - Common FTE Written Test-2025.
Candidates will have to meet all the eligibility criteria including one year relevant post qualification
experience, as on the last date of online registration.
2. The written test for all the provisionally eligible candidates will be conducted for all the posts on PAN
India basis in a single day.
3. The scheme of the test shall be as following:
i. The test would be of 1 hour duration (Extra time will be allowed to PwBD/ PwD candidates as per
Govt. of India directives)
ii. Sections and Number of questions:
a. Technical Knowledge Test – 50 questions based on B.Tech / BE/ Diploma (as applicable)
syllabus in the relevant discipline.
b. Aptitude Test – 25 questions tentatively on the following topics:
General English: Articles, Prepositions, Vocabulary, Comprehension, Synonyms/Antonyms,
Jumbled Sentences.
Reasoning: Data Interpretation, Coding and Decoding, Deductive Logic, Inductive Logic, Data
Sufficiency, Series Completion, Puzzles, Pattern Completion.
iii. All questions would be MCQ type with 4 options and carry equal weightage (1 mark each) and there
shall be no negative marking.
iv. Qualifying marks would be minimum 40% for Unreserved including EWS and 30% for reserved
vacancies (subject to reservation of vacancies).
v. Candidates shall have the option for appearing in the Common FTE written test in Hindi or English.
vi. Centres for Common FTE written test shall be pan-India and date of test shall be intimated separately
to the applicants after basic scrutiny of application. The right to allocate centre/venue shall be
reserved by the Management.
4. After completion of written Test process, the written test score in the form of score card will be available for
all the Candidates in their respective candidate login.
5. The score in written test will be valid for a period of 01 year from the date mentioned on the score
card.
6. As per workforce requirement for various projects in the Regions, the vacancies will be announced in the
candidate login/ notice on the career page of POWERGRID website.
7. The candidates will have to submit the consent for the respective vacancies, provided they meet all the
prescribed criteria for the post and have a valid score in the written test.
8. Candidates are allowed to appear for Common FTE Written Test as per the online declaration submitted by
them only and no document verification will be done at this stage. The onus lies with the candidate that they
meet the eligibility criteria of the respective post as mentioned in our detailed advertisement.
9. The candidate who are not meeting the eligibility criteria at any stage of the recruitment process, shall be
summarily rejected.
10. The Offer for Contractual Engagement shall be issued to the suitable candidates on the basis of merit and
requirement.
11. The decision of POWERGRID regarding scrutiny of application and short listing shall be final and binding.
i. Candidates who have qualified the Common FTE Written Test as per the eligibility criteria and
have submitted their consent for the vacancies notified by the respective Region/CC as
mentioned at point 7 above, will be shortlisted and called for interview by concerned Region/CC
based on their performance in the test.
ii. Qualifying marks in Interview would be minimum 40% for Unreserved including EWS and 30%
for reserved vacancies (subject to reservation of vacancies).
iii. Candidates shall have the option for appearing in Interview in Hindi or English.
iv. The merit will be drawn by the Region purely on the basis of performance in the Interview only.
v. Candidates who qualify as per qualifying criteria, shall be shortlisted category-wise for
empanelment by the Region, in proportion to the number of vacancies in the respective category
in the prescribed ratio of 1:5.
vi. In case two or more candidates secure equal marks, they will be empanelled in the chronological
order of their date of birth, the eldest being placed first among them. The number of candidates
to be empanelled may change as per availability of suitable candidates at cut-off.
i. Candidates who have given consent for the vacancies notified by the respective Region/CC as
mentioned at point 7 above, provided they meet all the prescribed criteria and qualify in the
Common FTE Written Test-2025, shall be empanelled by that Region/CC in order of merit purely
on the basis of performance/ marks obtained in the written test.
ii. Candidates who qualify, as per qualifying criteria, shall be shortlisted category-wise for
empanelment by the Region/CC, in proportion to the number of vacancies in the respective category
in the prescribed ratio of 1:5.
iii. In case two or more candidates secure equal marks, they will be empanelled in the chronological
order of their date of birth, the eldest being placed first among them. The number of candidates to be
empanelled may change as per availability of suitable candidates at cut-off.
iv. The candidates will be called for document verification as per number of vacancies and if found
eligible, will be issued Offer of Engagement.
v. Candidates can apply against any number of Regions simultaneously, as per the vacancies notified by
the Region, provided they meet the eligibility criteria and have valid test score.
vi. Candidature of those candidates who are disqualified in document verification, shall be rejected and
will not be considered for further process in any Region/CC, during the validity of the score.
vii. A candidate who joins a Region based on the score obtained in the test, shall not be eligible to apply
for the same post in other regions during the validity of the score. In other words, test score can be
used only once for obtaining employment during the validity of test scores.
HEALTH STANDARDS
1. Candidates should have sound health. Candidates must ensure that they meet POWERGRID’s health standards

{www.powergrid.in}. No relaxation in POWERGRID Medical Norms is allowed. (Refer to “Health” Link on
career page of our website for standards of Medical Fitness.)
2. Engagement of selected candidates will be subject to their medical fitness as per the company’s prescribed
standards.
Objection Management window shall be made live for 02 days after the conduct of Common FTE written Test to
provide an opportunity to candidates to represent their claims regarding a question / answer etc.

Interested and eligible candidates are advised to select one test center from the list of test centers mentioned

POWERGRID reserves the right to alter the test centers. The decision of POWERGRID regarding test centers shall
be final and binding. Efforts will be made to allocate the choice of city opted by the candidate for Common FTE
Written Test in their application form. However, in exceptional circumstances, a nearby/different city may be
allotted.
APPLICATION FEES
It is mandatory that the candidates go through the full text of the advertisement and agree to all the conditions
given, while applying for the post.
1. Interested and eligible candidates should apply only through Online Registration System of POWERGRID. To apply

on All India Basis and then “Engagement of experienced personnel on Contract Basis for the post of Field

2. Before registering and submitting their applications on the website, the candidate should possess a valid self E-
mail ID, Alternate E-mail ID and Mobile number. This is Mandatory. In case a candidate does not have a valid
personal e-mail ID, he / she should create his / her new email ID before applying online. These would be required
for accessing information through candidate login during the later stages of the recruitment process.
Candidates are advised to keep the E-mail ID and Mobile number entered in the online application form
compulsorily active for at least one year.
d) Qualification Certificate along with Mark Sheets of all years / semesters along 10 MB .pdf
with Proof of norms adopted by the Technical Board / Institute/ University
to convert CGPA / OGPA / DGPA into percentage (if applicable) (all
Qualification Certificate & Mark Sheets are required to be scanned in one pdf)
e) Candidates working in Govt. / PSU are required to apply through the proper 03 MB .pdf
channel and need to upload “No-Objection Certificate” from the present
employer
f) Experience Certificate (for Present as well as Previous employment 1MB .pdf
indicating start date, end date, designation, pay scale/ emoluments &
area of experience) issued by authorized/ appropriate signatory of the
organization.
8. Candidates will have to bring these above documents along with original at the time of
Interview/Document verification for preliminary & functional scrutiny / medical / joining, if called
for, failing which candidature shall be cancelled.

10. Payment of Application Fees:
➢ After successful completion of registration, candidates shall receive an email with details of their Login
ID, Password and other information. Candidate is required to login to career page through candidate
login link available on job opportunities section (Go to Careers> Job Opportunities>Openings>
Executive Positions on All India Basis > Concerned advertisement & candidate login link).
➢ A button shall be available on the login page which will guide the candidate to payment gateway.
Candidate will be automatically directed to payment gateway website and return back to POWERGRID
website automatically on completion of transaction.
➢ Online payment can be made through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking.
➢ If the transaction is successful, the online payment button will disappear and transaction confirmation
will appear. If the transaction fails and the amount is deducted, the candidates will have to wait for 2
hours to check any update in status on his/ her candidate login home page. In case of no change, he/
she will have to send mail stating the issue and quoting his/ her POWERGRID Registration Number.
Hence candidates are advised not to wait till last date for submission of application or payment of fees.
Payment once done cannot be refunded.
11. Once applied, the applicants are advised to check the web site as well as their registered e-mail regularly for
any updates.
12. The admit card indicating Roll Number, Name of the allocated Test Center and guidelines for the test will be
made available on our website to the candidates found apparently eligible based on the online data only. The
candidate is required to download his/her Admit card, Test Guidelines etc. for appearing in the test from the
website only. Please note that the admit card will not be sent by post.

The Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) in the categories of blindness, locomotor disability (both arm
affected – BA) and cerebral palsy are allowed the facility of scribe, if desired by the person. In case of other category
of Persons with Benchmark Disabilities / Persons with Disabilities as defined under section 2(r)/2(s) of the RPWD
Act, 2016, the facility of scribe is allowed to such candidates on production of a certificate to the effect that the
person concerned has physical limitation to write, and scribe is essential to write examination on behalf, from the
Chief Medical Officer/ Civil Surgeon/ Medical Superintendent of a Government Health Care institution in the
prescribed proforma.
• Candidates who are eligible and interested in engagement of Scribe for the test are required to fill up the
details of the Scribe in the application form itself.
• Candidates engaging scribes are also required to download and fill up the Scribe Declaration Form
(available in Important Formats Section) and bring the duly filled scribe declaration format at the
examination venue.

2. The candidature of the candidate at all stages of the selection process shall be provisional in nature.
3. Mere submission of application does not guarantee the adequacy of candidature for being considered for
further selection process.
4. Before applying, the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfils the eligibility criteria and other norms
mentioned in this advertisement. Applications in which the essential qualification/ experience cannot be
fully ascertained will be liable for rejection. Accordingly, it is the responsibility of candidate to satisfy that

5. Date of issuance of final mark sheet shall be taken as the date of acquiring essential qualification .
6. All photocopies of documents (along with the application) submitted at the time of Interview/Document
Verification (as applicable), if called for, should be self-attested by the candidate.
7. The candidate must possess qualifications recognized by the relevant statutory bodies like UGC/ AICTE
etc. Correspondence course in Degree/ Diploma shall not be considered as recognised qualification as
per AICTE norms.
8. Candidates must note that for the post of Field Supervisors, Higher technical qualification like B.Tech/B.E.
/M.Tech/M.E etc with or without Diploma is not allowed.
9. At the time of application and at the time of joining, the candidate applying for Field Supervisor
post, shall submit an undertaking that he/she is not possessing Higher technical qualification as
mentioned above and in case it is found subsequently that he/she has submitted any false
declaration or suppressed any information, his/her application shall be liable for rejection and if
appointed, services shall be liable for termination at any stage of service.
10. Wherever CGPA/OGPA/DGPA or Letter Grade is awarded in the essential qualification, its equivalent
percentage of marks must be indicated in the application form as per norms adopted by the University/
Institute from where they have obtained the qualification.
11. Percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in in the essential qualification shall be calculated based on
the practice followed by the University/Institution from where the candidate has obtained the
degree/diploma.
12. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks,
the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA
and multiplying the result with 100.
13. Marks in Essential Qualification will not be rounded off for deciding eligibility of any candidate.
14. Management reserves the right to post selected personnel at any of its project/office as per requirement.
15. The number of vacancies mentioned are tentative and may vary. Operation of panel will depend on the
requirement in the projects.
16. Application Fee is non-refundable even if the candidature is rejected for any reason.

18. Training / Teaching / Internship/Apprenticeship period will not be counted as experience.
