I hereby claim from you

the R5360 for the EGR and tappet gasket cover repairs done through lion pride, the boot cover
and indicator cover, as well as the minimum quote of R2500 for the alternator repairs. Efforts have
been made to settle this matter amicably, but unfortunately, an agreement has not been reached.
Regrettably, if this issue cannot be resolved outside of court, I will have no choice but to pursue
legal action. Here is my statement of the case I intend to submit to the court:

I purchased a Ford Figo 2011 diesel from Richard Botha on May 2nd, 2024, and upon completion
of the transaction, I delivered payment (R45000). Subsequent to this, the car was inspected by a
mechanic on the same day after purchase, who identified several issues. On May 2nd, I informed
Richard of the situation, prompting a discussion in which he agreed to repair the car on May 5 th.
The vehicle was taken on May 8th by Richard and returned on May 12th, seemingly unfixed ,but
rather the engine light was now on. Upon notifying Richard, we agreed that I would obtain a quote
from a different mechanic. Despite assurances on May 15th, the necessary covers have not been
delivered, and the quote for the repairs was not obtained until June 3rd. On June 6th Richard
agreed to pay for the repairs and alternator via voice note. On June 8th he agreed to the price that
was given for the repairs. After extensive negotiation, an amount of R5360 was established on
June 19th, which Richard has yet to settle. On July 5th, I paid the full R5360 for the repairs on my
car as it needed to be fixed, I informed Richard, and he agreed to get the money together for
reimbursement. Furthermore, the alternator, also part of the agreement, requires repairs estimated
to cost between R2500 and R4500 which was obtained on August 7th, hence my request for the
minimum amount of R2500 to cover these repairs as he agreed to cover the cost of the alternator
on June 6th.

As a teacher enrolled at UNISA, reliable transportation is paramount for me to fulfil my work

responsibilities and academic pursuits. Therefore, resolving this matter promptly is imperative.

I trust that we can reach a satisfactory resolution without the need for legal action. Kindly respond
to this letter within 14 days to discuss a mutually acceptable solution.
