RECRUITMENT TO NON-EXECUTIVE POSTS IN NHPC

NHPC Limited is the largest hydropower development organization in India, with

capabilities to undertake all the activities from conceptualization to commissioning of hydro
projects. NHPC has also diversified in the field of Solar & Wind energy development etc.

NHPC Ltd. (Formerly known as National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd.) was
incorporated in 1975 under Companies Act, 1956. The company is mandated to plan,
promote and organize an integrated and efficient development of power in all its aspects
through Conventional and Non-Conventional Sources in India and abroad. NHPC is a listed
company on NSE and BSE after successfully concluding its IPO in 2009.

NHPC (standalone) has an authorized share capital of ₹ 17,500 crores, paid-up share capital
of ₹ 10,045.03 crore and an investment base (Assets) of ₹ 87121.11 crore as on 31.03.2025.

NHPC's total installed capacity as on 01 July, 2025 is 8247.18 MW including 1681.70 MW in

Joint Venture, comprising 7771.20 MW from 23 Hydro Power Stations, 425.98 MW from
five Solar Power Project and 50 MW from a Wind Power Project. NHPC's hydro share of
7771.20 MW comes to about 16.21% of the country’s total installed Hydro capacity of
47928.16 MW. NHPC has been earning profit for the last many years, with Gross Turnover
of Rs. 10,024.99 Crore and Profit after Tax of Rs. 3,743.94 Crore during FY 2023-24.

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities belonging to any category for which the post is
identified (as indicated in Table-2 above) can also apply even if no vacancies are specifically
reserved for them. Such candidates will be considered for selection for appointment to the
post by general standard of merit in the respective category i.e., UR/EWS/SC/ ST/ OBC.

For posts reserved for PwBD, candidates belonging to any category i.e.
GEN/EWS/OBC/SC/ST and any suitable benchmark disability identified for the post at Table
2 can apply.

PwBD candidates applying against a vacancy specifically reserved for them shall be eligible
for the benefit of reservation/ concessions, if impairment is not less than 40 % of the
relevant disability.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
The company offers attractive compensation package comprising Basic Pay, Dearness
Allowance, HRA, Cafeteria Allowance, Performance Related Pay (PRP), Medical Facility,
NHPC Employees’ Family Economic Rehabilitation Scheme, Social Security Benefits
including PF, Pension, and Gratuity etc. as per company rules in force from time to time.
Selected candidates will be placed in minimum of their respective pay scales on probation
for a period of one year.

PLACEMENT:
Candidates will be placed at Projects / Power Stations/ Offices including Joint Ventures &
Subsidiary Companies of NHPC in various parts of the country or abroad.

APPLICATION FEES:
Candidates belonging to General/EWS/OBC category are required to pay a non-refundable
fee of 600/- plus applicable Taxes i.e. Rs.708/- per application. Bank Charges/Processing
charges including GST (if any) shall be extra borne by the candidate only. The
SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/ Female candidates need not pay the Registration Fee. Fees
once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Candidates are, therefore,
requested to verify their eligibility & correctness of information on Application Form before
paying the Registration Fee.

STEPS FOR APPLYING:

Step-1: Visit to www.nhpcindia.com & apply through online application portal available in
the “Career” section with us. The candidate must possess valid E-mail id and
mobile number which shall be active throughout the process as required for any
further notification.
Step-2: Read all instructions given on the website to ensure your eligibility before
applying.
Step-3: Fill the Online application form with relevant details and submit. After successful
submission of application, an application ID shall be generated by the system
which shall be kept and used for further communication
Step-4: Scanned copies of following documents should be kept ready by the candidate
before applying online registration for attachment:
a. Matriculation/ secondary school certificate as proof of Date of Birth.
b. Complete set of mark sheets/ certificates in support of qualification.
c. Caste certificate in format prescribed by the Government of India. In case of
OBC candidates, the community certificate should have been issued within 6
months before the date of registration.
d. Disability certificate issued by Competent Authority (if applicable)

Step-5: Upload latest photograph and signature as per instructions given in online
application portal.
Step-6: Take out the print of the registration form generated by the system in duplicate
with Unique application ID for future references.

Application registered without / incomplete documents uploaded shall be summarily

rejected even if registration number has been generated. Candidate should not send any
document/ certificate or print out of Registration slip/ Form through post.

SELECTION PROCESS:
The candidates registered online with NHPC and have filled all the requisite information in
conformity with eligibility criteria shall be provisionally allowed to appear for Computer
Based Online Test (CBT) and Written Test (as applicable).
The Minimum Qualifying Marks in CBT and Written Test (as applicable) for consideration of
candidates in selection process shall be as follows:
Gen./OBC/ Gen-EWS : 40% of total Marks
SC/ST/PwBD : 35% of total Marks

Based on merit of Online Test, the provisionally selected candidates shall be called for
Document Verification (DV) at Corporate Office, Faridabad. In this process, all the requisite
documents will be verified against original marksheet / certificates. Further, at the time of
DV biometric authentication of the shortlisted candidates will also be done.

On successful completion of DV, the final selected candidates will be given provisional
“Offer of Appointment”.

TEST CENTRES:
The Computer Based Online Test (CBT) and Written Test (as applicable) will be held in 19
Cities* as mentioned in the 'Online' Application system. Candidates shall have to select
preferred examination city (limited to three choices) from the given list of exam cities in the
Online application form. However, NHPC reserves the right to cancel or add any Centre
depending upon the response of the candidates for that area/centre. Admission to the test
centre will be on allowed production of Admit Card which is to be downloaded from NHPC
website only.

Part-II consists of 30 MCQ on General Awareness and
Part-III of 30 MCQ on Reasoning
Marking For every correct answer of MCQ, one mark shall be
awarded. For every wrong answer of MCQ attempted by the
candidates, negative marking of ¼ marks i.e. 0.25 marks shall
be deducted. No marks will be awarded/deducted for un-
attempted questions.
RESERVATION AND RELAXATION:
1. Reservation for SC / ST / OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) / PwBD (degree of disability 40%
or above)/ will be as per the Govt. Norms & Directives. Vacancies for Economically
Weaker Section (EWS) are as per Govt. guidelines subject to final outcome of Hon'ble
Supreme Court order.
2. The OBC category candidates who belong to “CREAMY LAYER” are not entitled for
OBC concession and such candidates have to indicate their category as “General”.
The OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category candidates are required to submit requisite
certificate (latest) in the prescribed format, issued by Competent Authority as
prescribed by the Government of India, at the time of further selection process, if
called for the same. The certificate must be issued within 06 months from the date
of closing of online application.
3. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ ST, 3 years for OBC (Non- creamy
layer). It is relaxable by 10 years for PwBD - General, 13 years for PwBD – OBC (Non-
Creamy Layer) and 15 years for PwBD - SC/ST candidates.
4. The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for the candidates who had ordinarily been
domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989.
5. The relaxation of age for Ex-servicemen shall be as per Government guidelines.
6. Candidates seeking reservation under Gen-EWS will have to submit an income &
asset certificate issued by a Competent Authority. The closing date for submitting
income & asset certificate by the candidate will be treated as the closing date of
online application. The prescribed format and the competent authority have been
given in the Department of Personnel & Training Office Memorandum No.
36039/1/2019-Estt (Res) dated 31.01.2019.
7. Candidates seeking reservation as SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/ Gen-EWS/
Person with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) (degree of disability 40% or above) will
have to upload Certificate only in the prescribed proforma meant for appointment
to the posts under the Government of India from the designated authority indicating
clearly the candidate’s caste, the Act/ Order under which the caste is recognized as
SC/ST/OBC (NCL) and the village/ town the candidate is ordinarily resident of.
8. TA/DA will not be paid to any candidate appearing for the online test.

MEDICAL FITNESS:
Selected candidates should be medically fit as per the extant guidelines of NHPC.

LIABILITY TO DECLARE:
a.) Candidates with reported ailments, deficiencies or abnormalities and also those
with finding of not meeting the physical fitness criteria as above shall make a
declaration to this effect while submitting their application.
b.) A candidate found UNFIT for a position during medical examination by any other
Government Authority or any other PSU, shall be required to declare his/her medical
condition with reasons for being declared “UNFIT”. If the candidate applies / seeks
employment/ engagement in NHPC, suppression of such information may render the
candidature liable for Rejection.
c.) Candidates have to necessarily declare in case he/she has been arrested, prosecuted,
kept under detention or fined, convicted by the Court of Law for any offence,
 debarred/disqualified by any Public Service Commission from appearing in its
examination.

GENERAL INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
2. Final year/ semester appearing students are not eligible to apply. The result should
be declared before date of closing of online application.
3. Candidates acquired essential Diploma Qualification through 2 years Lateral Entry in
relevant Discipline from Government/Government recognized Institute with
minimum 60% marks (SC/ST/PwBD Candidates with 50% marks) or equivalent grade
are also eligible to apply.
4. All computations of age requirement/ qualifications shall be done w.r.t. last date of
receipt of online application as mentioned in the advertisement.
5. Certificate issued by a Board of Secondary Education for passing
Matriculation/Higher Secondary mentioning the date of birth shall be the only
acceptable document in support of proof of age.
6. Candidates should possess a valid e-mail ID and mobile number. Candidates are
advised to keep their e-mail ID active at least for one year. No change in e-mail ID
will be allowed once entered. All future correspondence including issuance of Offer
of Appointment (if selected) etc. shall be done through e-mail only. Responsibility of
receiving, downloading and printing of information, communication etc. will be of
the candidate. NHPC will not be responsible for any loss of email sent due to
invalid/wrong email id provided by the candidate.
7. Before applying, the candidate should ensure that he / she fulfils the eligibility and
other norms mentioned in the advertisement. If a candidate is shortlisted, based
on the information given by him / her and does not fulfill the same / meet the
criteria, he / she will not be allowed to join.
8. Category (SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/ EWS/PwBD) once filled in the online application form
will not be changed and no benefit of other category will be admissible later on. The
reserved category candidates and EWS/PwBD category candidates are required to
submit requisite Caste/Tribe/EWS/PwBD certificate in the prescribed format, issued
by Competent Authority as prescribed by the Government of India, at the time of
further selection process, if called for the same.
9. Candidate is required to obtain requisite marks / grade in minimum qualification
prescribed for the post, taking average of all the semesters / years irrespective of the
weightage given to any particular semester / year by Institute / University.
10. No representation will be entertained for relaxation of prescribed criteria in any
circumstances.
11. Internal candidates having requisite qualifications are also eligible to apply. They are
advised to refer to internal circular before filling up the application.
12. Candidate has to apply Online only. No manual / paper application will be
entertained.
13. The date of declaration of result / issuance of Mark sheet shall be deemed to be the
date of acquiring the qualification and there shall be no relaxation on this account.
14. Candidature of the registered candidate is liable to be rejected at any stage of

आवेदन पोटल के मा यम से आवेदन कर । अ यथ के पास वैध ई-मेल आईडी और मोबाइल
नंबर होना चा हए जो भत क पूर या के दौरान स य रहे गा ता क कसी भी आगामी
अ धसूचना से अवगत कराया जा सके ।
चरण-2 : आवेदन करने से पहले अपनी पा ता सु नि चत करने के लए वेबसाइट पर दए गए सभी
अनुदेश को पढ़।
चरण-3 : संगत यौर के साथ ऑनलाइन आवेदन फॉम भर और उसे सब मट कर । सफलतापूवक
सब मट करने के बाद स टम वारा एक आवेदन आईडी जनरे ट क जाएगी िजसे सुर त
रख और आगामी सं ेषण के लए उपयोग कर ।
चरण-4 : ऑनलाइन पंजीकरण के लए आवेदन करने से पहले अ यथ वारा न न ल खत द तावेज

02 ओबीसी ेणी के अ यथ जो " मी लेयर" से संबं धत ह, ओबीसी ेणी म छूट के हकदार नह ं ह
और ऐसे अ यथ को अपनी ेणी "सामा य" के प म दशनी होगी। य द ओबीसी (नॉन- मी
लेयर) ेणी के अ य थय को आगे क चयन या के समय, य द इसके लए बुलाया जाता है ,
तो उ ह भारत सरकार वारा नधा रत स म ा धकार वारा जार नधा रत ा प म आव यक
माण प (नवीनतम) तुत करना आव यक है । यह माण प ऑनलाइन आवेदन समाि त होने
क तार ख से 06 माह के भीतर जार कया गया हो।
03 अनुसू चत जा त/ अनुसू चत जनजा त के लए अ धकतम आयु सीमा म 5 वष , अ य पछड़ा वग
(नॉन- मी लेयर) के लए 3 वष क छूट है । पीड यूडी – सामा य के लए 10 वष, पीड यूडी
– ओबीसी के लए 13 वष तथा पीड यूडी - अनुसू चत जा त/ अनुसू चत जनजा त के लए 15
वष क छूट है ।
 04 िजन अ य थय ने दनांक 01.01.1980 से दनांक 31.12.1989 के दौरान सामा य प से ज मू
एवं क मीर रा य म नवास कया है , उन अ य थय के लए अ धकतम आयु सीमा म 5 वष क
छूट है ।
05 भूतपूव सै नक को आयु म छूट सरकार दशा- नदश के अनुसार द जाएगी ।

ू स के अंतगत आर ण के इ छुक अ य थय को स म ा धकार वारा जार
कया गया आय एवं प रसंप माण-प तत
ु करना होगा । अ यथ वारा आय एवं प रसंप
माण-प तत
ु करने के लए अं तम त थ इस पद के लए आवेदन के ऑनलाइन ा त होने
क अं तम त थ के प म मानी जाएगी। नधा रत प और स म ा धकार का मक एवं
श ण वभाग के दनांक 31.01.2019 के कायालय ापन सं. 36039/1/2019- थापना (आर ण)
म दये गये ह।

प अपलोड करना होगा िजसम सरकार वारा व न द ट ा धकार से प ट प से अ य थय
क जा त, अ ध नयम / आदे श िजसके तहत जा त को एससी/ एसट / ओबीसी (नॉन- मी लेयर)
के प म मा यता द गई है और िजस गांव / शहर का अ यथ आमतौर पर नवासी है , का प ट
उ लेख हो ।
08 ऑनलाइन पर ा म शा मल होने वाले कसी भी अ यथ को ट ए/डीए का भुगतान नह ं कया
जाएगा।

घोषणा करने का दा य व:
क) ऐसे अ यथ िज ह ने बीमा रय , क मय या असामा यताओं क सूचना द है और ऐसे अ यथ जो
ऊपर दए गए शार रक व थता मानदं ड को पूरा नह ं करते ह उ ह अपना आवेदन जमा करते
समय इस आशय क घोषणा करनी होगी। (अ सर पूछे जाने वाले न को दे ख)
ख) कसी अ य सरकार ा धकरण या कसी अ य पीएसयू वारा च क सा पर ण के दौरान कसी
पद के लए अ व थ पाए गए अ यथ को "अ व थ" घो षत कए जाने के कारण के साथ अपनी
च क सीय ि थ त घो षत करनी होगी। य द ऐसे अ यथ एनएचपीसी म नयिु त/रोज़गार के लए
आवेदन करता है, तो ऐसी जानकार को छपाने से उसक अ य थता नर त कए जाने के लए

सामा य जानकार और अनुदेश:

1 केवल भारतीय नाग रक ह आवेदन करने के पा ह।
2 अं तम वष /सेमे टर म शा मल होने वाले छा आवेदन करने के पा नह ं ह। पर ा का प रणाम

4 आयु आव यकताओं/यो यता संबंधी सभी गणनाएं व ापन म उि ल खत ऑनलाइन आवेदन ा त
करने क अं तम त थ के आधार पर क जानी चा हए।
5 मै कुलेशन/हायर सेकडर उ ीणता के लए मा य मक श ा बोड वारा जार माण प िजसम
ज म त थ का उ लेख हो, आयु के माण के समथन म एकमा वीकाय द तावेज होगा।
6 अ य थय के पास एक वैध ई-मेल आईडी और मोबाइल नंबर होना चा हए। अ य थय को सलाह
द जाती है क वे कम से कम एक वष के लए अपनी ई-मेल आईडी स य रख। एक बार दज
क गई ई-मेल आईडी म कसी कार के प रवतन करने क अनुम त नह ं द जाएगी। अ य थय
के लए नयुि त का ताव (य द चय नत हो) आ द जार करने स हत भ व य के सभी प ाचार
केवल ई-मेल के मा यम से ह कए जाएंगे। सूचना/संचार आ द को ा त करने, डाउनलोड करने
और ट
ं करने क िज मेदार अ यथ क होगी । अ यथ वारा द गई अमा य/गलत ई-मेल
आईडी के कारण भेजे गए ई-मेल से हुए कसी भी नुकसान के लए एनएचपीसी िज मेदार नह ं

7 आवेदन करने से पूव, अ यथ को यह सु नि चत करना होगा क वे व ापन म उि ल खत पा ता
और अ य मानदं ड को पूरा करते ह। य द कसी अ यथ को उसके वारा द गई जानकार के
आधार पर शॉट ल ट कया जाता है और वह उसे पूरा नह ं करता/मानदं ड को पूरा नह ं करता है ,
तो उसे कायभार हण करने क अनुम त नह ं द जाएगी।
8 एक बार ऑनलाइन आवेदन प भरने के बाद ेणी (एससी / एसट / ओबीसी (एनसीएल) /
ईड यूएस / पीड यूबीडी) प रव तत नह ं जाएगा और अ य ेणी के लए दया जाने वाला लाभ
बाद म वीकाय नह ं होगा। आर त ेणी के अ य थय और ईड यूएस/पीड यूबीडी ेणी के
अ य थय के लए आगे क चयन या, य द उ ह इसके लए बुलाया जाता है , के समय भारत
सरकार वारा नधा रत स म ा धकार वारा जार नधा रत ा प म अपे त
जा त/जनजा त/ईड यूएस/पीड यूबीडी माण प जमा करना आव यक है ।
9 अ यथ को सं थान / व व व यालय वारा कसी वशेष सेमे टर / वष के लए दए गए वेटेज
पर यान दए बना सभी सेमे टर / वष का औसत के आधार पर पद के लए नधा रत आव यक
अहता म अपे त अंक / ेड ा त कया जाना अपे त होगा।
10 कसी भी प रि थ त म नधा रत मानदं ड म छूट के लए कसी अ यावेदन पर वचार नह ं कया
जाएगा।
11 अपे त यो यता रखने वाले आंत रक अ यथ आवेदन करने के पा ह। उ ह सलाह द जाती है
क वे आवेदन भरने से पहले आंत रक प रप दे ख।
12 अ यथ को केवल ऑनलाइन मा यम से आवेदन करना होगा। ई-मेल के मा यम से कसी भी
मैनुअल/कागजी आवेदन पर वचार नह ं कया जाएगा।
13 प रणाम घो षत करने/अंक प जार करने क त थ को यो यता ा त करने क त थ माना जाएगा
और इस संबंध म कोई छूट नह ं द जाएगी।
14 य द अ यथ वारा दान क गई कोई भी जानकार झूठ पाई जाती है या व ापन म उि ल खत
पा ता मानदं ड के अनु प नह ं पाई जाती है तो पंजीकृत अ यथ क उ मीदवार भत या के
कसी भी चरण म या भत या कायभार हण करने के बाद नर त क जा सकती है ।

19 एनएचपीसी के पास आव यकता के अनुसार रि तय म व ृ ध / कमी करने का अ धकार होगा।
20 भत या एनएचपीसी नी त और भत नयमावल के अनुसार होगी।
21 आवेदक वारा य या अ य प से कोई अनुयाचन करने से उसक अ यथता को अयो य
ठहराया जाएगा।
22 कसी कार के ववाद क ि थ त म फर दाबाद / पंजाब एवं ह रयाणा उ च यायालय, चंडीगढ़ के
स म यायालय के पास व श ट अ धकार होगा।
