Screening Test for the post of Junior Science Teacher (BPS-14)
EXAM MCQS ( 20-08-2025 )

Time: ____________ Date: ____________

Total Time: 100 minutes Max Marks: 100

Reading & Comprehension Test

Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions given at the end.

Science has continuously reshaped human civilization, providing both

convenience and complexity. One of the most transformative discoveries was
electricity, which not only illuminates our cities but also sustains industries,
hospitals, and digital communication networks. Without electricity, the entire
framework of modern life would collapse. Equally significant was the invention of
the microscope, which allowed scientists to probe the microscopic world of
bacteria and cells. This single device revolutionized medical research by
uncovering the unseen causes of many diseases.

The advancement of space exploration represents another milestone of scientific

inquiry. From the Moon landings to robotic missions on Mars, space programs
have broadened our understanding of planetary origins and the potential for
extraterrestrial life. Similarly, communication has undergone a radical
transformation. Centuries ago, written letters would travel across continents in
months, while now; satellites and the internet enable real time interaction.

Yet, despite these triumphs, the misuse of scientific progress has posed significant
challenges. Industrialization, while boosting economies, has caused large scale
environmental pollution. The burning of fossil fuels has degraded air quality,
directly affecting human health. Therefore, educators and learners must promote a
responsible outlook toward science encouraging innovation but also ensuring
sustainability.
