Abstract
Wireless power transfer (WPT) is a technology in which electrical energy is transmitted from a source to a load
without using any physical wire. This project develops a prototype model where inductive coupling is used to
transfer power from a transmitter coil to a receiver coil. The output of the receiver coil is converted to DC and
used to power an LED lamp or charge a mobile phone. This project acts as a small-scale version of modern EV
charging systems and wireless charging pads.
------------------------------------------------------------
Introduction
In today’s world, wireless charging is an emerging technology that improves both safety and convenience. WPT
is already being used in mobile chargers, electric vehicles, and biomedical devices. This project demonstrates a
low-power prototype that clearly shows how electrical energy can be transmitted wirelessly.
------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives
1. To design and develop a working model of wireless charging.
2. To demonstrate the principle of inductive coupling practically.
3. To wirelessly charge small electronic loads (LEDs, mobile phones).
4. To create a cost-effective prototype with scope for future applications.

Components Required & Budget
1. Transmitter coil (Copper wire, 22 SWG) – 1 pc – ₹200
2. Receiver coil (Copper wire) – 1 pc – ₹200
3. Oscillator circuit (Transistor/MOSFET based) – 1 set – ₹300
4. Rectifier + Filter Capacitors – 1 set – ₹150
5. Voltage Regulator (7805/LM317) – 1 pc – ₹100
6. Arduino (optional for monitoring) – 1 pc – ₹900
7. LED lamp / Mobile charging port – 1 pc – ₹200
8. Breadboard, PCB, Wires, Soldering material – ₹400
Estimated Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹2,500
------------------------------------------------------------
Working
1. The AC supply is given to the oscillator circuit which generates high-frequency AC.
2. This current flows through the transmitter coil, creating an alternating magnetic field.
3. When the receiver coil is placed near the transmitter coil, a magnetic flux is induced in it.
4. The induced AC in the receiver coil is passed through a rectifier and filter to convert it into DC.
5. The voltage regulator ensures a stable output, which is then supplied to the load (LED/mobile).
