PASADO SIMPLE DEL VERBO TO BE
El pasado simple del verbo to be, se forma cambiando el auxiliar “am”, “is” por “Was” y el
auxiliar “are” ´por “Were”, las estructuras para formas oraciones en afirmativa, negativa e
interrogativa, es la misma del presente simple del to be.

ESTRUCTURAS PARA FORMAR EL PASADO SIMPLE
AFIRMATIVE (AFIRMATIVA):
Sujeto+Was/Were+Complemento
Example: I was in the office (yo estaba en la oficina)
NEGATIVE(NEGATIVA)
Sujeto+ Was/Were+not+complemento
Example: I was not in the office (yo no estaba en la oficina)
INTERROGATIVE(INTERROGATIVA)
Was/Were+Sujeto+complemento+?
Was I in the office? (¿Estaba yo en la oficina?)
Respuesta: Yes, I was
No, I was not
Example 2:
+ You were very happy
-You were not very happy
? were you very happy? Yes, you were
No, you were not

1. Complete las siguientes oraciones con Was/Were, según corresponda, a su vez convierte
cada oración a negativa e interrogativa. (seguir el ejemplo)
Example:
