ELIGIBILITY RULES FOR PARTICIPANTS IN AVISHKAR
Categories/Disciplines of Avishkar
Students of the University are allowed to participate in any of the following
category/disciplines irrespective of their own discipline/course.
Categories/Disciplines
Category1: Humanities, Languages and Fine Arts
Category 2: Commerce, Management and Law
Category 3: Pure Sciences
Category 4: Agriculture and Animal Husbandry
Category 5: Engineering and Technology
Category 6: Medicine and Pharmacy
Û Eligibility Rules for participation in Avishkar
a) only bonafide, full time students who are enrolled for a UG or PG Degree
in SPPU departments or its constituent /affiliated College/ recognized
Institute to SPPU and whose examination is conducted by the University
after passing the 12th examination will be eligible.
b) Students from any level/discipline can participate under any of the above
disciplines.
c) All the participating students for Avishkar shall fulfil the following
conditions.

Û For Undergraduate Students (UG):

Students pursing studies in the SPPU departments or its constituent
/affiliated Colleges or recognized institutes who are below the age
of 25 years are eligible to participate in any of the six disciplines
under this category depending upon the area of his/her research work
irrespective of the faculty /stream/subject in which he/she has
enrolled for the degree /diploma in the participating University.
Û For Post-graduate Students (PG):
Students pursing studies in the SPPU departments or its constituent
/affiliated Colleges or recognized institutes who are below the age of 30 years are
eligible to participate in any of the six disciplines under this category depending
upon the area of his/her research work irrespective of the faculty /stream/subject
in which he/she has enrolled for the degree /diploma in the participating
University.

Û For Post-PG Students (PPG):

Any person from SPPU departments or its constituent /affiliated Colleges
or recognized institutes who has duly registered for (i) a degree such as M.Phil.
/Ph.D. or (ii) registered for D.Sc. /D.Litt. etc. having acquired a Post Graduate
Degree/Diploma in the same subject/stream/faculty or (iii) pursuing a Post-
Doctoral Research project irrespective of the faculty/stream/subject in which
he/she has enrolled for the said programme in the participating university without
any stipulated age limit.

Provisional admission to a course of a University or College shall not make

the student eligible to represent the college in the Avishkar.

Computing age of Eligibility: For the purpose of computing years of

eligibility of the participant, the academic year in which research
convention is being held, irrespective of whether the participant's result is
declared or not, shall be considered. Explanation: if a student completes 25
years on or before 31st December of the organizing year of Avishkar
(eg.2024-25) his/her result is to be declared in between the month of
January to July of the succeeding year of organization of Avishkar
(i.e. in Jan. to July, 2025) shall be considered eligible. The result will
normally be extended from June/July of current year to 12 calendar months
of the next year.
Guidelines for College Level /Zonal Avishkar Competition
1. Participant poster size should be 1 M x 1M only.
2. The name of the participant should not be on the Poster.
3. Name of the guide/mentor participant should not be on the Poster.
4. Name of the department/s or their constituent/affiliated Colleges
/recognized institutes should not be on the Poster.
5. Only selected entries should be taken further for the Zonal Level.
6. The judge’s decision will be final.
Guidelines for College Level /Zonal Avishkar Competition
1. Two judges from the relevant discipline should evaluate each poster
independently.
2. The judges should not be related to any participant in the competition.
3. The participants' project work was to be evaluated on the following
parameters –
a) Relevance of the Topic/Project.
b) Methodology adopted (use of local material, economical
approach/techniques, etc.)
c) Contribution/Hard Work/Efforts of the participant.
d) Innovativeness/Novelty/Newness of the project.
e) Outcome of the Project work.
f) Affordability of the project.
