in South Africa.

You will work on this project on your own.
You will work at home and at school.
The project will be assessed.
1. Choose one of the following religions:
African traditional
Christianity
Islam
Judaism
Hinduism
Baha’i faith
Buddhism
2. Research the religion of your choice (preferably not your own religion) and
bring the information to school by Friday, 15 August 2025.
3. Make a colorful poster about a religious festival or design a brochure for an
international group of students visiting your school. The brochure aims to
educate young people about specific customs and traditions they might
experience while visiting South Africa.

4. You will need to find information about the following:
Name of the religion
One custom celebrated in this religion
What / why the festival or custom is celebrated?
Who observes it?
When is it celebrated?
How long does this celebration last?
Special foods eaten.
Any other interesting information.
5. You will need 5 – 8 pictures linked to your chosen religion and custom.
(These may be sourced from books, magazines or the internet).
You may print your headings / captions or write them out neatly. Cut them
out and have them ready to bring to school.
Information will be hand written.
Make sure you have your pictures, headings, stationary (color pens,
Koki’s, fine liners, glue, scissors etc.) at school so that you are able to
work on your brochure / poster in class.
You must read your information to ensure that you have all the information
as mentioned on page 1.
NB: Please note that paper (A4) for the brochure will be provided. No work on
the actual brochure may be done at home.
