Activity:
Program making | to do an addition calculation using block programming in scratch.
Science
Ice breaking activities-
Students will be divided into groups. They will be given a photograph in which they have to find out different habitats. And tell if
they are healthy or damaged.
In this unit, students will:
• describe how living things are classified into broad groups according to common observable characteristics, and based on
similarities and differences, including microorganisms, plants and animals
• give reasons for classifying plants and animals based on specific characteristics by class discussion in groups.
• find out how humans have positive (good) and negative (bad) effects on the environment
• Will make a booklet describing key features of organisms on basis of their classification.
Students will learn that living things can be classified into five kingdoms. They will learn about using some major characteristics
of plants to help to classify them into smaller groups. They will apply their new knowledge of plant groups to carry out a survey
to find and observe examples.

Well-Being 🌈 Activity Title: "My Well-Being Shield “important.”
To help students explore different areas of well-being (emotional, physical, social, and mental) and identify
personal strategies to take care of themselves in each area.
🛠 Materials Needed:
● A4 paper (1 per student)
● Colored
pencils or markers
Pencils and erasers
1. Introduction – What Is Well-Being? (5 mins)
Explain in simple terms:
● Well-being means how we feel in our body, mind, and heart.
● There are different parts of well-being:
Physical (our body)
Emotional (our feelings) Mental (our thoughts) Social (our friendships and connections)
Ask students:
● What makes you feel good in your body?
PRE-IGCSE Grade-VI
Lesson Planning- September 1, 2025
● What helps you when you're feeling down?
Who helps you feel supported?
Create Your Well-Being Shield (20 mins)
Instructions:
1. Fold the A4 paper in half vertically.
2. Draw a large shield shape and divide it into 4 sections (like a pie chart or cross).
3. Label each section:
Physical Emotional Mental Social
In each section, students should draw or write:
● One thing they already do to take care of that area.
● One thing they want to try to improve their well-being in that area.
Example ideas:
Physical: "I go for walks with my dog" / "Try to sleep earlier"
● Emotional: "I talk to my sister when I'm sad" / "Start a journal"
● Mental: "I enjoy reading books" / "Take deep breaths when stressed"
● Social: "I play with friends at lunch" / "Be kind to someone new"
Encourage creativity: they can use symbols, drawings, or just words.
Sharing & Wrap-Up (5 mins)
● Invite volunteers to share one part of their shield.

● Reflect as a group: Which part of
well-being is easiest for you?

🌱 Activity Title: "Sustainability Superheroes"
🎯 Objective:
To help students understand sustainability by identifying
real-world environmental problems and creating simple, age-appropriate solutions using creative thinking.
🛠 Materials Needed:
● A4 paper or blank poster paper (each pair)
Markers, colored
pencils, crayons
● Pencils and erasers
Whiteboard
Introduction – What is Sustainability? (5 mins)
Begin with a simple explanation:
● Sustainability means taking care of the Earth so that future generations can enjoy it too.
PRE-IGCSE Grade-VI
Lesson Planning- September 1, 2025
● Ask:
“What are some problems our Earth is facing?” (e.g. pollution, plastic waste, cutting too many trees)
“Why is it important to take care of nature, water, animals, and our environment?”
Write student answers on the board to spark ideas.
Main Activity – Create a "Sustainability Superhero" (20 mins)
Instructions:
1. Each pair will design their own Sustainability Superhero.
2. On their paper, they should:
Draw their superhero.
Name the superhero (e.g. Captain Recycle, Eco Girl, The Green Guardian).
Write 2–3 powers or actions the hero uses to help the planet.
Think of 1 real-life tip students can do to help (e.g. bring reusable bottles, plant a tree, recycle, use less electricity).
Example: Name: Solar Sam
Power: Uses solar energy to power homes
Action: Teaches people how to save energy
Real-life tip: Turn off lights when you leave a room
Encourage creativity: colorful costumes, nature-based powers, clever names, etc.
Sharing & Wrap-Up (5 mins)
● Ask for a few volunteers to show and explain their superhero to the class.
● Discuss:
○ “What did you learn about helping the Earth?”
“Can small actions make a big difference?”

Maths Lesson Plan – Day 1 (Grade 6 Math in Action)
Duration: 40 minutes
Topic Focus: Fractions, Operations, Comparing & Ordering Numbers
Setting: Playground
Objective
Students will revisit and reinforce core math concepts (fractions, basic operations, comparing and ordering
numbers) in a fun, movement-based outdoor activity.
Students will begin to see math as active, practical, and enjoyable.
Students will develop teamwork and quick problem-solving skills.
Materials Needed
Number cards (fractions, whole numbers, decimals written big & bold)
Cones or markers to create stations in the playground
Stopwatch/whistle
Whiteboard/Chart paper + markers (optional for wrap-up)
Lesson Flow
1. Warm-Up (5 minutes)
Gather students in the playground.
Teacher says: “Today, we’re going to explore how math isn’t just in books—it’s in action, right here in our
playground!”
Quick energizer: “Number Line Run” → Teacher calls a number (e.g., “3/4” or “7”), students line up quickly in
ascending order as if they are forming a human number line.
2. Main Activity – “Math Relay Stations” (25 minutes)
Create 4 playground stations, each tied to a math concept. Divide class into 4 groups. Each group rotates every 5–6
minutes.
1. Fraction Dash
o Cards with fractions scattered on the ground.
o Students run, pick two fraction cards, and race back to compare them (>, <, =) on a board/ground chart.
PRE-IGCSE Grade-VI
Lesson Planning- September 1, 2025
o Bonus challenge: Order 3 picked fractions from smallest to largest.
2. Operation Challenge
o A bin with number cards (whole numbers & decimals).
o Students pick 2–3 cards, then perform the operation announced by the teacher (add, subtract, multiply,
divide).
o Teams earn points for correct answers.
3. Ordering Numbers Race
o Rope/cones laid out as a “number line.”
o Teacher hands each student a card with a number (fractions/decimals/whole numbers).
o Students must place themselves in correct order along the line.
4. Math Puzzle Relay
o Teacher reads a quick word problem (e.g., “If you ate 2/8 of a pizza and your friend ate 3/8, how much
was eaten?”).
o First team to solve correctly and show work (chalk/whiteboard) scores a point.
3. Wrap-Up & Reflection (10 minutes)
Bring students back together.
Ask: “Which station was your favorite? What math skills did you use today?”
On chart/board, write down: Fractions | Operations | Comparing | Ordering. Have students give one example
from what they did.
Closing note: “Math is everywhere—in games, runs, and teamwork. This year, we’ll keep exploring math in
action!”
Differentiation Ideas
Support weaker students by pairing them with peers in teams.
Challenge strong students with decimals + fractions mixed tasks.
