Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world, so it is very common to see people celebrating in virtually every part of Indonesia. Eid is known in Indonesia as Idul Fitri (or more informally as Lebaran) It is a national holiday, with the exact date determined by local lunar observation. Generally speaking, in the Gregorian calendar, Idul Fitri "moves back" 11 days per year. For example, in 2009 Idul Fitri occurred on September 21 and 22, while for 2010 it is anticipated to fall on September 9 and 10 with possible variance of two to three days either side. Additionally, in Indonesia Idul Fitri has a legally mandated salary bonus for all employees, known as Tunjangan Hari Raya (THR) as enforced by Indonesia's Department of Labour, Employment and Society ("Departemen Pengawasan Dinas Tenaga Kerja dan Sosial"). The mandated amount of this salary bonus differs by region. For example, within the Jakarta region the THR bonus must be at least Rp 1 million but not less than one month's full salary paid in advance of Idul Fitri, in addition to the employee's regular salary. Thus, Idul Fitri is also a paid holiday. Breaching or withholding THR is a very serious labor law infraction and punished severely, regardless of employer status or position. In Indonesia, it is common during this period that many people engage in "mudik" activity. It is an annual tradition that people in big cities such as Jakarta, Surabaya, or elsewhere, travel to their home town in other cities to visit their relatives in order to forgive each other and celebrate Eid with the whole family. The government of Indonesia has prepared the transportation infrastructures to accommodate a huge amount of travelers by repairing damaged roads and bridges. However, the impact will be still tremendous as millions of cars and motorcycles will jam the roads and highways, causing kilometers of traffic jams.

Berlin,Germany Christmas preparations often begin on the eve of December 6th. People often set aside special evenings for baking spiced cakes and cookies, and making gifts and decorations. Little dolls of fruit are traditional Christmas toys. Children leave letters on their windowsills for Christ kind, a winged figure dressed in white robes and a golden crown who distributes gifts. Sometimes the letters are decorated with glue and sprinkled with sugar to make them sparkle. Some homes in Germany have several Christmas trees, and in all towns across Germany, they can be seen glittering and glowing. In the evening you eat with the family, and exchanges of gifts. For children it often includes the living room from the first and lets them into only when the candles lit on the tree and the presents are built. After all the gifts for the children are taken from the Christ or Santa Claus.

Hongkong In Hong Kong, the figure who visits children is known as Lan Khoong or Dun Che Lao Ren. There are church services given in Chinese as well as English. Children send Christmas cards depicting the Holy Family in a Chinese setting. Public areas are decorated with nativities, poinsettias, streamers, and paper chains. Every year in Hong Kong there is a 'Winterfest'. It's a huge winter party that involves the shops, theme parks and other attractions in Hong Kong. Independent Day - Singapore ( 9 August 1966) The National Day in Singapore is celebrated every year on the 9th of August in honor of the birthday of the nation. On 9th August 1965, Singapore separated from the Federation of Malaysia and became an independent country. The first National Day is celebrated in 1966 in Singapore. The National Day in Singapore is celebrated with a grand parade in the (Singapore National Stadium) with amazing live performances, music and fireworks. This Parade has become the biggest national event in Singapore. On this day many political leaders appear at the public events and talk about the nation's heritage, laws, history, people, about recent events and future projects. The National Day is considered as a Public Day with outings, picnics and lots of outdoor events like parades, air shows, fireworks and musical concerts. Parades generally occur in the morning and the

Indonesias Independence Day was declared on Friday morning in the year 1945 on 10.00 am. Indonesia considered this as the start of a revolution against the rule of Netherlands, and Netherlands officially approved Indonesians independence in the year 1949. After the laborious preparations and planning comes the main day where the most important ceremony of flag hoisting takes place at the National Palace. This ceremony is broadcasted live. This day is conducted with full pomp and show every year as it is considered to be a day of respect and honor for the residents of the country. These events are conducted by the President and Vice President and high position officials from cabinet, military brass attend it along with the families of president, corps etc. Trained and talented students from various schools are brought together for marching activity. Panjat Pinang is another popular game played on this day. In this game an Areca palm trunk is erected and is greased properly with oil and clay and prizes are hung at the top of the tree.

Moon cake Festival Guangzhou, China The joyous Mid-Autumn Festival, the third and last festival for the living, was celebrated on the fifteenth day of the eighth moon, around the time of the autumn equinox. Many referred to it simply as the "Fifteenth of the Eighth Moon". In the Western calendar, the day of the festival usually occurred sometime between the second week of September and the second week of October. People in different parts of China have different ways to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. In Guangzhou in South China, a huge lantern show is a big attraction for local citizens. Thousands of differently shaped lanterns are lit, forming a fantastic contrast with the bright moonlight. The round moon cakes, measuring about three inches in diameter and one and a half inches in thickness, resembled Western fruitcakes in taste and consistency. These cakes were made with melon seeds, lotus seeds, almonds, minced meats, bean paste, orange peels and lard. A golden yolk from a salted duck egg was placed at the center of each cake, and the golden brown crust was decorated with symbols of the festival. Traditionally, thirteen moon cakes were piled in a pyramid to symbolize the thirteen moons of a "complete year," that is, twelve moons plus one intercalary moon.
