The RAM Series TSIO-520-NB is identical in configuration to the TCM
TSIO-520-NB except for parts and assemblies as specified in the STC
SE4327SW Revision 3 Parts Manual Supplement.
The recommended procedures relating to engine operation, servicing and
periodic maintenance for the RAM Series TSIO-520-NB are the same as
those specified in the TCM TS10-520-NB Series Operator's Manual Form
No. x30044, FAA approved March 1980 or later FAA approved revisions,
except as specified below:
I. Introduction: Section I applies without change.
II. Design Features: Section II applies without change except for;
A. General: No change.

Operating Instructions: Section IIT applies without change.
Normal Operating Procedure: Section IV applies without change
except for;
A. General: No change.
B. Prestarting: No change.
C. Starting: As follows
1) Cold Starts: No change.
2) Flooded Engine: No change.
3) Hot Starts: As follows
a) Throttle - Full open.
b) Mixture - Idle cut-off.
¢) Aux. Pump - On (high) 30-90 seconds.
d) Throttle - start position.
e) Aux. Pump - Off (when ready to start).
f) Mixture - Full rich.
g) Prime - (1) one second.
h) Starter - engage.
D. Ground Running: No change.
E. Pre-takeoff Check: No change.
F. Takeoff: No change.
G. Climb: The RAM Recommended Cruise climb power setting is
2500 RPM and 35.0 inches M.P.. At this power setting the
mixture setting is leaned to 26-28 GPH (153-163 PPH) or 1550
deg. F. EGT, whichever occurs first.
H. Cruise: Recommended cruise power setting are;
HP RPM EGT LIMIT 1 EGT LIMIT 2
220-248 2300-2450 100 deg. F. rich of peak 1600 deg. F.
200-220 2200-2450 75 deg. F. rich of peak 1600 deg. F.
Below 200 2200-2450 50 deg. F. rich of peak 1600 deg. F.
NOTES: 1. An EGT gage must be type that reads abs. temp. in
deg. F. with EG? system accuracy of + 50 deg. F.
2. Lean to peak momentarily (2-5 seconds) and
enrichen per limit 1. If EGT remains above limit 2
of 1600 deg. F, enrichen additionally until EGT is
reduced to 1600 deg. F.

3. First set M.P. and RPM to the desired power
setting and then slowly adjust the mixture control to
the limits indicated in Item IV.G. above for climb or
to the limits in Item IV.H. above for cruise.
4. WARNING: Do not continue to lean mixture beyond
1700 deg. F. If 1700 deg. F. reached before peak EGT
use 1700 deg. F. as peak EGT reference point.
Operation at 1700 deg. F. to establish peak reference
EGT is limited to a maximum of 5 seconds.
5. The above assumes a single EGT probe located 8 to
10 inches away from cylinders #1 or #2 exhaust port
outlets as measured along the exhaust riser center
line, or a six probe engine analyzer EGT system with
EGT probe not more than 2 inches from cylinder port
outlets as measured along center line.
I. Descent: Engine power setting should be in 40 to 64
percent range. Lean EGT to 1250 deg. F. to 1450 deg. F. Ideal
Cylinder Head Temperature for descent is 300-360 deg. PF.
Adjust rate of descent and airspeed, with cowl flaps closed
to assure CHT does not drop below 300 deg. F.
gd. Landing: No change.
K. Engine Shut Down: No change.
L. Cruise Control by EGT: Same as item H.
Abnormal Environmental Conditions: Section v applies without
change.
Servicing and Inspection: Section VI applies without change
except for;
Oil: (SAE)
Normal Service (preferred) 20W-50 or 15W-50
above 40 deg. F (acceptable) 50
below 40 deg. F (acceptable) 30 or 10W-30
50 Hour Inspection: add.
Inspect and clean or replace as necessary the induction air
filter at simultaniously with oil change intervals.
Replacement of the induction air filter at 400 hours or 2
years, whichever comes first, is required regardless of
apparent condition.

vr. At every oil change lubricate wastegate butterfly and
actuator shafts thoroughly with "Mouse Milk" penetrating
oil.
