1.0 INTRODUCTION
CHKD.

ICM

The Khafji Joint Operations (KJO, herein referred to as COMPANY) is located in the Arabian
Gulf and jointly owned by ARAMCO Gulf Operation Company (AGOC) and Kuwait Gulf Oil
Company (KGOC). The project relates to the Ex-Loading Station which is a set of platforms,
ISSUED FOR REVIEW AND COMMENTS

namely Dolphin-A platform, Dolphin B platform and Ex-Loading Dock platform which are
located approximately 5 km offshore to the east of Al-Khafji, KSA. Valve Control Platform
(VCP) is located further approximately 5 km offshore from Dolphin-A platform, and Sea
DESCRIPTION

Berths 1 & 2 are located 1 km offshore from Dolphin-A platform.

The project involves conducting Re-FEED for a pipeline concept which involves replacement
of diesel pipeline to Dolphin-A and the Sea Berths, and a new electrical cable from Dolphin-
A to VCP. The work is also to revalidate the existing FEED packages to ensure that the new
FEED package includes all of the new scope and compliance to latest Saudi Aramco
Standards.
Kent Engineers & Constructors Inc. herein referred to as CONTRACTOR, has been awarded
the Re-FEED package i.e. the new Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) for Relocation of

Ex-Loading Dock Pipeline Project.

1.1 BACKGROUND
VN
BY

The Khafji onshore facility relies on functioning pipework on the old Export Loading Dock,

DRAWN: to demolish the Ex-Loading Dock and modify Dolphin-A to ensure the continued supply of
BY: VN diesel fuel to the Khafji onshore facility.
DATE: 31/05/2024
In view of above, COMPANY (KJO) initiated the project and carried out Front End

Engineering Design (FEED) packages in accordance with Saudi Aramco Desktop Standard
OPR’G DEPT
(as per July 2013) and completed the original FEED in September 2014. The planned work

scope at the time was for the re-routing of a number of pipelines in the immediate vicinity of
the Ex-Loading Dock.
DATE:
In January 2023, the COMPANY made the decision to approve certain scope changes in the
ENG. DEPT. existing FEED packages and proceed further with the project by undertaking a Re-FEED.
BY: This was done to address the operational requirements for the supply of fuel and diesel to
