Next, stuff with polyfil. You want it to be firmly
stuffed, but not overstuffed to the point of
stretching out your stitches.

Next, close the top using the same method as

the bottom. Once you cinch it tight, you may
need to add some more polyfil to make sure it's
stuffed properly.
Make sure you leave a small hole to put a stem
in later.

To finish, heat up your glue gun and prepare

your stem. Cut it to be about 2-3" long. You
want it to be long enough to push down into the
pumpkin a little ways, and still have a good
length on the top. Put a small line of glue
around the stem where it would touch the sides
of the pumpkin and push in into the hole. Hold
it in place until it cools.

From here, thread another length of yarn onto

your sharp darning needle. Push the thread
down through the top of the pumpkin and down
out the bottom to pull the top down into a
pumpkin shape.

Don't pull too hard!

Work all around the top hole of the pumpkin
until it is uniformly shaped.

CONSTRUCTION:

Use method described in Tartan Pumpkin

instructions to stuff and shape. Leave a
small opening in the bottom when cinching
shut. Don't add the stem just yet.

To add some hemp, string it through the top

and bottom using the same technique as
shaping the stuffed pumpkin. Space them
apart to line up with the pleats made when
you cinched it shut.

You may need to use a hook to reach

through the top and bottom holes, as the
pumpkin will be stuffed at this point you may
struggle to pull the hemp and needle through
the stuffing.

Secure the end of the hemp string with hot

glue at the bottom.

Finally, add the stem, as described in the

Tartan Pumpkin instructions.
