What does it mean to deny oneself?

A
Bible Study
Christians always talk about denying oneself. What does it mean? How
Can a believer deny themselves according to what the Bible tells us
send?
Denying oneself
The first thing that came to my mind regarding self-denial is to
that Jesus be glorified. That is the main objective for which we were created.
created, right? Aren't we here to not deny ourselves and have as
superior to others and to live a life like that of Christ for their
glory? When we deny what we want and put others before ourselves
the same and also when we deny ourselves for the glory of
Christ, then we are following what I believe is being asked of us
to doWhere is this in the Bible? We must trust in the Word of God and
not in the opinion of men, because the Word of God cannot be broken,
but humans often break their commandments.
How to deny oneself?
Jesus clearly told us how we must deny ourselves in
this life in Luke 09:23: "And he said to all: 'If anyone wants to come...'

Convenient. To deny oneself is to deny what we want and, at times,
what we need. We all like to be remembered well and to be respected,
but this is not in God's plan for us. We must carry, not
our cross, but the cross of Christ and do it daily. What was the cross

voluntarily by us when we did not deserve it. That means that
you and I should put our own interests behind the
interests of others. There is more in this chapter 9 of Luke that Jesus
it tells us:
For whoever wants to save their life will lose it;
And everyone who loses their life for my sake will save it.
What does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and loses his soul?
Does he destroy or lose himself? 9:26 For whoever is ashamed of
of me and of my words, of this the Son of Man will be ashamed
when he comes in his glory, and in the glory of the Father, and of the saints
angels.
If we beat all our friends in the world in order to save face or
save our lives, we are going to end up losing, but if we lose our
life for the sake of Jesus, then "We will save him" for all eternity. Jesus
use the word 'because' between verses 25 and 26, which 'in the context of the
previous words Jesus says that if we try to save our life, then
we are going to end up losing our soul, if we lose our lives, then
we are going to end up saving our soul. Why, then, did he put it this way?
way? Because if we lose our "own" lives for the sake of Jesus, that
it means that we will not be denying Him before others, which is a sin of
omission. That is to say, when we are unable to proclaim Jesus as our
Lord and Savior, we are denying You with our silence. The sin of silence.
it is a sin of omission and it is no different from a sin of mention. And we are going to
to be held accountable for it.

Deny oneself, but not Christ

Just the other day I had the opportunity to talk with three young people sitting in a
restaurant and so, scared as I was, I asked them if I could sit with
them and ask them a few questions. After a brief chat, I

to deny Christ. If we deny ourselves, we will not deny
Jesus. That difference is of supreme importance and has eternal ramifications.

there is neutrality. Jesus said that 'for whoever is not against us, for

Jesus said, "He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather...
