IDENTIFICATION OF DISASTER RISKS AND ADAPTATION TO CHANGES
CLIMATIC
Climate
The climate is typical of the puna, as the thermal sensations vary.
from a temperature of 7°C to a maximum of 21°C (San Calixto 1998).
Cold air masses coming from the North cause cold waves.
mainly in summer and winter, with a speed of 7 to 77 kilometers
for now, therefore, the climate varies from mild to cold, with seasons of
dry and cold winter, so it is said that the municipality of Laja presents two
cold humid and cold dry.
Frost tends to occur throughout the year; however, the days with
Frosts occur in the months of June, July, and August.
mainly because the municipality of Laja is surrounded by high
snowy and/or icy mountain peaks, therefore the climate is
also consider as high mountain
Maximum and Minimum Temperature
In general, it can be observed that the ranges of
temperatures for the entire national territory, appreciating it in the same
location of the municipality.
For the Laja area, the average annual temperature reaches 8.4° C.
an average maximum of 15.7° C and an average minimum of -2.8° C.
The monthly behavior is graphically described below:
Rainfall and Periods
The average annual precipitation reaches 667 mm, in the months
between November and March, although the first rains occur
they are registered in September and can be extended until April. The average of
annual maximum precipitation reaches 911 mm. And while the average
minimum is 404 mm. The monthly behavior is described in the
next graph:
Climate Risks
With an average of 138.5 frost days per year, agriculture is carried out
mainly between the months of October and March. In the same way,
Since the rains concentrate between November and March, these would be the
months in which hail could affect agricultural production.
Soils, Main Characteristics
In the municipal section of Laja, 8 physiographic units have been found.
I remember the Land Use Planning maps, which are:
• High Mountain Ranges, with Strong Dissection
• Medium Mountain Ranges, with Moderate Dissection
• Low Mountain Ranges, with Moderate Dissection
• Piedmont Plain, with Moderate Dissection
• Foothill Plain, with Light Dissection
• Fluvio Lacustre Plain, with Light Dissection
• Piedmont Plains, with Light Dissection
• Low Hills, with Strong Dissection
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The proposed project is feasible and viable, as it has a budget
designated for its execution, it is also accepted by all the shelves
and the inhabitants of the place, achieving total acceptance for
the launch of this project.
From all the aforementioned, one can observe the magnitude and the
scope of the project both for the social benefit of the community members, and the
minimal environmental impact required by the project.
It was also possible to observe the willingness of the community members even with
community support for the project regarding the excavations, and others
minor aspects that will somehow improve quality, time and
execution of civil works.
