LEARNING TO HEAR THE VOICE OF GOD

!
One of the biggest challenges in a Christian's life is hearing the voice of God! It is very
It's common to hear from people who have been in church for a long time: 'I have never heard God.'

I can't really tell if it was God who spoke to me!

!
Through this study we will understand some principles that guide us
leads to a life of relationship and discernment of the voice of God:

God decided to share His voice with man! This is

grace!
!
And you said: Here is the Lord our God, He has made us see His glory and His
greatness, and we heard His voice from the midst of the fire; today, we saw that God speaks with
the man, and he remains alive.
And you said, 'The Lord our God has shown us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice from the fire; today we have seen that a person can live even if God speaks with them.'
!
Everything in the Kingdom depends on whether we listen to the voice of God or not! This is where the

most important treasures of the Kingdom.

!
2)We need to desire to hear Your voice, this practice must be
a priority in our walk with the Lord:
!
Your speech is very sweet; yes, He is totally desirable.
Ct.5:16a
!
Practice of Solitude and Quietude! God has more important things to say
from me! Things change when God speaks to me.
!
3)As our relationship with God becomes more
the closer, more intimate, the easier it will be to hear Him and
identify your voice!
!
Relationships require TIME. Our SECRET PLACE needs to be a
daily discipline.
!
The intimacy of the Lord is for those who fear Him, to whom He will give
know Your covenant.
Proverbs 25:14
!
The mistake of leaving the secret place too quickly.
!
4) Listen and Obey. These words are united throughout the
Scripture and define exactly what it means to LOVE GOD!
!
Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.

someone, listen carefully and put into practice what was heard!)
!
TO LOVE GOD = TO OBEY HIM!
!
5)Seek and protect your HUNGER FOR GOD:
!
As the deer longs for the streams of water, so longs my soul for you, O God.
my soul sighs. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God;
when I go and see myself before the face of God.
Psalm 42:1 and 2

!
The word 'sigh' has the meaning of deep longing, desire. The doe is a
animal that lives in an arid environment, therefore, water is everything for it.
the most important. She has the ability to sniff out water kilometers away
distance and perceive, meters below the surface, the existence of a sheet
of water.
!
This is how this poet affirms that his soul is with God! A peaceful man is
all that houses your emotions, your will, and your passion. In our soul
an insatiable hunger for God needs to be awakened, and this hunger needs to be
protected by us.
Naturally, hunger is a sign of absence (of food, of affection, of justice,
etc... A person who is full does not signal hunger:

!
"The full soul steps on the honeycomb, but to the hungry soul, everything bitter is sweet."
A hungry person craves food, but the full person despises even honey.
!
If our soul is filled with that which is not God, His will and His Kingdom,
we risk disregarding the most precious treasure!
!
A soul like this will proclaim like the Church of Laodicea:
!
For you say: I am rich and well-off and do not need anything...
Revelation 3:17
!
The Christians of this church seemed to be so satisfied with what they had.
in this land that took this position regarding the things of God.
A satisfied soul prevents us from hearing the voice of God!
!
Hunger is the main element through which we will or will not seek intimacy with
God! The big question is:
What appetites and desires will we develop?
There is a principle that does not change: We will hunger for what feeds us!!!
That which brings us satisfaction will draw our attention.
If we set aside time for the Word and prayer, hunger will increase.
Naturally, the presence of God will come, and with it, His voice!
!
Hunger is our spiritual thermometer!!! What is the first thing that
Does a person lose their appetite when they are sick? A sign of
spiritual illness is the lack of appetite for the things of God.
Guard the most precious: Proverbs 4:23 says:
!
Above all that must be kept (watched, observed, preserved), keep the
heart, for from it flow the springs of life.
!
!
If God guides us to KEEP OUR HEART, it is because it can be
contaminated, polluted, preventing us from perceiving what God wants, including
to hear and discern His voice!
!
Some roots of contamination:
!
1.People:The intimate involvement with people who do not fear or love
The Lord will certainly affect our values and decisions, and gradually, the
our interior will be taken over by ideas, suggestions, and lies offered by
this world.
!
Whoever walks with the wise will be wise, but the companion of fools will
will turn bad.
Proverbs 13:20
!
2.Sarcastic jokes, malicious, jokes
indecent, conversations or comments that do not

All things are lawful, but not all things are beneficial; all are lawful, but not all.
all edifications.
Everythingispermissible,butnoteverythingisbeneficial.Everythingispermissible,butnoteverythingbuildsup.

!
"Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good"
good for edification, according to the need, and thus, convey grace to those who
listen. And do not grieve the Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day
of redemption.
Ephesians 4:29/30
!
The meaning here is distorted: rotten word, corrupted, improper for the
use, of poor quality, that corrupts and destroys purity.

3.Songs, images, literature, films, TV:we do not know the

the power of pollution from what enters through our sources (senses: eyes,
ears). The psalmist, knowing this, affirmed:
!
I will not put anything unjust (useless, that is not good for anything, that is not
profitable) before my eyes; I despise the conduct of those who stray;
none of this will stick to me.
Sl.101:3
!
JESUS gave so much importance to this that He mentioned it in His own words:
!
The eyes are the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, the whole body will be.
the body will be luminous; but if your eyes are evil, your whole body
will be in darkness. Therefore, if the light that is in you is darkness, how great
"darkness will be!"
Matthew 6:22,23
!
He took this principle so seriously that even amid so much suffering
said:
!
I made a pact with my eyes...
Job 31:1

FACILITATING PRINCIPLES FOR LEARNING TO
HEAR THE VOICE OF GOD:
!
GENERAL POINTS:
God is personal and respects our unique way, our personality,
our way of being (created by Him Himself), then a God of
personality develops with us a specific way of SPEAKING.
- Learn to take all matters to God. There are not two drawers in
our life: SECULAR and SPIRITUAL. For God, everything in us concerns
Kingdom!
- Practice the discipline of LISTENING TO GOD (suggestion from the notebook for
notes).
- The principles we will observe next are not the only path,
however, they are biblical and facilitate our journey towards this vital practice in
our spirituality! We can use this path individually or
collective.
!
Clean heart:ask God to search your heart and bring to your
awareness of the sins you have committed that can take you away from yourself
the sensitivity to hear the Voice of God. When this happens, confess
and ask for forgiveness: Is.59:1 and 2 / Ps.139:23 and 24 - 1 John 1:9.

!
2) Acknowledge your incapacity:Recognize your inability to
walk alone and ask the Spirit of God to guide you in this
time, both in knowing what God wants to say, and in prayer. Rom.
8:26 and 27.
!
Shut the voice of the EU:Fall in the name of Jesus all the impression,
concept, preconceptions, ideas and feelings that may come in your
mind or heart coming from yourself or from external voices and
circumstantial. Submit the voice of your self to the voice of the Spirit of God. Jr.
17:9 and 10 - Prov.3:5 to 8.

!
4) Silence the enemy's voice:Ask the Lord to come silence all the
impressions, feelings, and suggestions thrown by the enemy into your mind
and heart, rebuke in the name of Jesus the voice of the enemy within you
and submit your heart only to the voice of God. James 4:7 ('Submit yourself to the
control of the Lord, obey Him and completely position yourself against the
enemy in your conduct, choices, and daily life, and he will flee from you.
!
5) Ask the Holy Spirit to bring to your heart that
what is in the heart of God:in a state of total dependence,
ask the Spirit to come and bring to your heart the voice and the will of the heart
from God with clarity, knowledge, and discernment for His glory. 1 Cor.
2:9
!
Be grateful in faith:Thank God in faith for what He will share.
and for the privilege He grants us to know His heart. The
HEARING THE VOICE OF GOD IS A ACT OF FAITH! Heb. 10:38.

!
7) Wait in silence:be silent until the Lord brings to you
heart and mind what He wants. Impressions, biblical words may come,
visions, etc...
As soon as you start to perceive the voice of God, write it down.

!
Note: you silenced the voice of the enemy and the voice of the self, it is indeed a tendency of ours.

after we take these steps we must confirm if we receive from God or

no, for sometimes, God will bring a word, a vision or impression that
for us it has no significance, so we discard it as if it never came from
God, by doing this, we will be acting in unbelief. We must consider
everything that God brings, He is not a God of confusion and surely will
mature Your voice within us!

!
03 FILTERS FOR CONFIRMATION OF THE VOICE OF GOD:
!
INNER CONVICTION: The INNER CONVICTION is the inner certainty
about the will of God, a feeling, an impression that has been
placed within us by the Lord. We can call this

This first point places upon us the responsibility of a

seeking God until He puts His will in your spirit.
You may not be absolutely sure, but there needs to be a strong conviction.
about how God inclines him within His will.
This needs to be the first point regarding the search for God's will. It is

God uses this point to call you to a personal relationship with Him.
