PREFACE
The new and dynamic Church is organized into five parts: "The dynamic Church", "The
Nacimiento y crecimiento de un cristiano", "La Base de poder de un cristiano", "La Iglesia
of today," and "Living the Word." Within each part there are chapters, each of the
which was investigated and originally written as an individual study. By grouping the
studies in general topics, a person can gain a broad perspective on how
the parts fit together to form the whole.
However, since the chapters were written as individual studies and then
they were classified into units according to their theme, occasionally the reader will notice that they are not covered.
all aspects of a topic; however, these have been covered in other research.
I know that the content of Volume II of Studies on Abundant Life will not only open more
from the Word of God for you, but it will also magnify you --mentally and physically and
spiritually.
Let us put the Word of God in our hearts and in our minds for it is the only
that can give us complete liberation from the darkness of this world.

has arisen from confusing these two distinct and separate churches that certainly are
it is necessary to conduct a thorough study of both the Church of Israel and the Church of the
Thank you.
The dynamic church is the transformed and constantly changing church. God's plan for
the Church of Israel was carried out during the era of the Law and during the presence of
Jesus Christ on earth. However, since the day of Pentecost, the ekklesia of Israel has
temporarily suspended state. We are living in the era of the
the church of Grace. But someday when the return of Christ ends this era of Grace the
the church of Israel will be restored.
Historically, the church has been dynamic not only in changing its administration to
another, but also in the power that God has given him. To use our power given by God
with the highest possible effectiveness, we, as members of the Church, must have
first the knowledge of His will, which is declared in His Word. So then
we can also be dynamic; that is, having the ability to change and
effectively face each new and different situation with the effective power of God.

Chapter One
Ecclesia, Wife or body?
Often, biblical commentaries and those who write about the Bible make reference
both to the Church of the Gospels and to the Church of the Epistles calling them the bride
of Christ. As a result, they make both uses synonymous. Therefore, it has not
properly understood the relationship of Christ with the Church of the Gospels and with the
Church of the Book of Revelation in contrast with the Church of the Epistles. The Word of
God separates these two bodies declaring that the wife of Christ is the Church of the
Gospels and the Body of Christ is the Church of the Epistles.
But before beginning a study of the meaning of the two churches, let us examine what
we want to say by the word 'church'.
When we see a building with a bell tower, we point it out and say: "That is a
"church." This is one of its uses -- a building. Another common use of "church" is a group
of people who gather to participate in certain religious rites. We also refer to
different denominations such as Methodist, Presbyterian or Roman Catholic
like churches. Another use of the word 'church' is a group of people who are reborn.
of the Spirit of God. The meaning of 'church' varies with its context.
The Greek word for our Spanish word "church" is ekklësia, which means
the callings. People can be called for various reasons; for example, if a group of
people decide to go play soccer and then gather on the field, they would be an ekklësia
because they are called to play football. In Acts 19 a mob is called a church,
a crowd. Why? Because a crowd is made up of a group of people who have
gathered for a specific purpose.
Acts 19:23-32:
At that time there was no small disturbance concerning the Way.
Because a silversmith named Demetrius, who made silver little temples of Diana, gave
not little gain for the artisans;
to whom, gathered with the workers of the same trade, he said: Men, you know that from
from this trade we obtain our wealth;
but you see and hear that this Paul, not only in Ephesus, but in almost all Asia, has

And not only is there a danger that our business will become discredited, but also
also that the temple of the great goddess Diana be regarded as nothing, and begin to be

When they heard these things [that Demetrius was saying], they were filled with rage and shouted,
saying: Great is Diana of the Ephesians!

and the city was filled with confusion, and they rushed to the theater, seizing Gaius and
Aristarchus, Macedonians, companions of Paul.
And wanting to go out to the town, the disciples did not let him.
Also, some of the authorities in Asia, who were his friends, sent him a message,
begging him not to show up at the theater.
Some, then, shouted one thing, and others another; for the assembly [ekklësia, the

A great company of silversmiths under the influence of Demetrius was stirred by fear of
that Pablo's arrival in the town was diminishing their comfortable economic income.
Pablo preached the greatness of the Word of God that is against the use of medals,
amulets and talismans to represent God and His blessings. Although the crowd does not

The word 'concurrencia' in Acts 19 is ekklësia, church, the called.
The church or the called ones of Israel, the bride of Christ, spans the timeframe of the
Gospels. Jesus Christ came to the people of Israel, to his own. This was the era of the ekklësia of the

land.
Before moving forward, it is necessary to clarify the difference between the Kingdom of Heaven and the
Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God has no beginning or end. The Kingdom of God encompasses all
existence. However, under this Kingdom of God that encompasses everything, there are several periods,
one of which is the Kingdom of Heaven. The period of the Kingdom of Heaven is for the called
from Israel, the Church of Israel, which is the bride of Christ. Whenever there is a reference
to the Kingdom of Heaven, it indicates the personal presence of the king himself on earth.

The root of the word 'reino' is 'rey'. The word 'reino' means 'the government of a

God, Israel, and He called from Israel those who would form the bride. Jesus Christ was the husband.
The church, the called ones of Israel, was called the bride while the husband was over the
earth.
But what happened to the husband? He was nailed to the cross. When the king of the kingdom was
crucified, the Church of the Bride was interrupted because the husband was dead. God

everything.
While the husband is absent, the members of the Church form the Body of Christ.
In this Body Church, there is only one head and that is the Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 1:33: and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and his kingdom will have no end.
The church described and spoken of in Revelation has nothing to do with our time and
our administration.
8
The Church of the Body, which in this Administration of Grace is the Church of Grace, is
also called the Church of God.
Ephesians 1:22,23: 'And he put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over'
all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all
in everything.

reborn by the Spirit of God is a member of the Grace Church, the Body of
Christ. The members of this Church of the Body are all those who are called, both from
among the Jews as among the Gentiles. Therefore, any Jew or Gentile who

greater than the world has ever known --the mystery of the Body of Christ, which
it is your Church.
To discover when the mystery was revealed to Paul, let's examine Romans 16 and
Efesios 3.
Romans 16:25,26
And to the one who can confirm you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to
the revelation of the mystery that has been kept hidden for eternal times,
but what has now been manifested, and that by the Scriptures of the prophets [not the
prophets of the Old Testament, but the prophets after Pentecost who are
members of the Church of the Body], according to the command of the eternal God, has been given
to make known to all people so that they obey the faith.
Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you, that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly. In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets.
9
if you have heard of the administration of the grace of God that was given to me to
with you;
that by revelation was made known to me the mystery, as I briefly wrote before,
reading which you can understand what my knowledge is in the mystery of Christ,
a mystery that was not revealed to the sons of men in other generations,
as it is now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit.
The foundation of the Church of the Body was not made known in other generations; thus
the prophets of the Old Testament did not know about the Church of Grace; nor did they
the people who lived in the time of the Gospels knew it. But "now [recently] it is
revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit.
Once the moment of the revelation of the mystery is clarified, one essential question remains:
What is the mystery?
Ephesians 3:6 that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and members of the same body, and
participants in the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.
It was no mystery that the Gentiles would be blessed under the ministries of Abraham.
and of David and during the kingdom of Israel. Examples of blessings upon the Gentiles are
they are found scattered throughout the Old Testament. But the Old Testament does not provide
the slightest indication that the Gentiles would be 'fellow heirs and members of the same body,
and participants in the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel." The revelation of
that the Gentiles are co-heirs in Christ was, at a minimum, a revolutionary news.
Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God's grace, which was given me by the working of his power. To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.
of which I was made a minister by the gift of the grace of God that has been given to me
according to the operation of its power.
To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given
to announce among the Gentiles the gospel of the unsearchable riches of Christ.
The word 'inescrutables' means 'that cannot be traced'. Literally, the mystery of
the riches of God's grace towards the Gentiles could not be traced (could not be
follow the trail) in the Word of God from the Old Testament to the end of the
Gospels. That the Gentiles would be co-heirs and of the same Body was a secret,
hidden since the beginning of the world.
Ephesians 3:9:
and to make clear to everyone what the dispensation of the mystery hidden for ages is
God, who created all things.
10
The revelation was made known to "clarify to everyone what the dispensation is of
"mystery." The word "dispensation" in the Greek text is the word "administration." The
The 'dispensation of the mystery' is literally the 'Administration of the Church of Grace'.
The mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
the mystery that had been hidden for centuries and ages, but which has now been
manifested to his saints,
to whom God wanted to make known the riches of the glory of this mystery among the
Gentiles; what is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
The mystery, so important that it has been kept hidden since the foundation of the world, is that
all born-again believers, Jews and Gentiles, would be co-heirs with Christ and that Christ
would be in each one of them. Imagine! When Jesus Christ was here on Earth, He
could only be in one place at a time. But once he ascended to heaven, and that God
God gave the power of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, so Christ could be in each
born again believer. Wherever a believer is, there Christ is present.
If the Devil had known this mystery, he would never have crucified Jesus. Through
the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus made a power available that had not been present before
unknown in history. The Devil was completely unaware of God's plan, as stated in 1
of Corinthians.
1 Corinthians 2:7,8:
But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom, which God
predestined before the ages for our glory,
the one that none of the princes of this century knew; because if they had known it,
they would never have crucified the Lord of glory.
The Devil, as sovereign prince, would have much preferred to have had Jesus Christ.
personally present on earth instead of having thousands of believers with Christ in them
scattered throughout the world. By crucifying the Lord of glory, Satan contracted for himself
the same an insoluble problem.
Obviously, the Devil was not the only one who ignored God's intentions. Many
men before the Age of the Grace Church tried to find out about this
period. Pedro spoke about the searches of the prophets of the Old Testament.
I Peter 1:10,11:
The prophets who prophesied of the grace destined for you inquired and
diligently inquired about this salvation,
scrutinizing what person and what time the Spirit of Christ indicated that was in
they, which foretold in advance the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that
they would come after them.

The literal translation of verse 11 according to usage reads: "Searching or looking for

These prophets of the Old Testament diligently inquired of the Word seeking
that time span between the Gospels and the Book of Revelation, between suffering
of Christ and his glory. But this period of grace could not be found because it was
completely hidden.
The grace period is indicated in the reading that Jesus made from Isaiah 61, which is reported.
in Luke.
Luke 4:16:
Jesus came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath he entered the
synagogue, according to its custom, and he stood up to read.
A wise and interesting tradition in the synagogues of that time was that when a
man would read from the Word of God, he always stood up to show respect for the
sacred scrolls and to indicate that he was reading, not simply talking by his
account. When a person finished reading the Word of God and began to teach or
explain, the man sat down. When a man sat down, the listeners were not present.
they were sure if the man who was ministering was delivering the Word; but when the
the minister was standing and reading, the congregation knew that what they were hearing was the Word of
God. That is why Jesus stood up to read.
Luke 4:17:
And the book [scroll] of the prophet Isaiah was given to him; and having opened the book, he found the
place where it was written.
How deeply Jesus must have studied the scroll of Isaiah! Although he did not have the
help with chapters and verses or references, he "having opened the book, found the place
where it was written.
There is a story about a man who said that he didn't have to study to come to know the
Bible message for him. The only thing he had to do to find God's guidance.
Every morning was leafing through the Bible and, covering one's eyes, placing a finger on a verse. The
the verse where his finger fell was his guide for the day. An interesting guide was given to him
this man one morning when he carelessly leafed through his Bible and came to a page
in the New Testament. He pointed to a verse, opened his eyes, and read: 'And Judas
he went and hanged himself." The man was not very satisfied with this guide, so he went to another one.

Opportunity to your method but what you read was: 'What you are going to do, do it sooner.'
In contrast to this individual, Jesus found the place where it was written; he
deliberately located the writing he needed at that precise moment. Jesus was
prepared, as demonstrated in Luke 4.

Luke 4:18-21:
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news
to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted; To proclaim
freedom for the captives, and sight for the blind; to set free the oppressed;
And rolling up the book, he gave it to the minister, and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue

And he began to say to them: Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.
Jesus stopped reading with the phrase: 'To proclaim the year of the Lord's favor,' and sat down.

"the vengeance of our God" will be fulfilled with the prophecy of Revelation when Christ
I return as the King of kings and Lord of lords with all the power of God.
Jesus accurately divided the Word of God, Jesus Christ was to preach the year

Isaiah 61:2 there is a comma after the expression 'to proclaim the year of goodwill'
of Jehovah", while in Luke 4:19 what follows the equivalent expression is a
point. The comma in Isaiah 61:2 represents all the years from the day of Pentecost until
the moment when the Lord Jesus Christ comes again. The time between these two
events is the period of Grace, the Church to which the believers belong
after Pentecost, which was still a mystery at the time when Isaiah wrote
that was unknown to Jesus.
The age of the Church of Grace is the day of the human tribunal.
1 Corinthians 4:3:
I have very little in being judged by you, or by human tribunal...

I begin the era of God's vengeance which is spoken of in Isaiah 61.
Living in this Era of Grace, an era that has remained hidden since the foundation of the world
until it was revealed to Paul, it is a great privilege. Man has a power and
a position in Christ that no other era has known.
The Church of the Bride did not know about the Church of Grace that was to come.
Grace Church, the Church of the Body, was founded after the Church of the Bride was
suspended at the moment of the crucifixion and death of the husband. The Church of the Bride
it will remain in that state until Christ returns. Meanwhile, during the period of
the Church of the Body, all believers are one in Christ Jesus, the head of that Body.
Every born-again believer has Christ in him, the hope of glory. No other era has

Second Part
In this section about 'The Birth and Growth of a Christian' we study the Word of
God to learn about our Christian development. This study eradicates the first
problem: ignorance. The next step--the application of God's plan for our
spiritual growth--is still in our hands.
"The Unconditional Commitment" and "How to Be a Christian" show the fundamental step
of being born into the family of God. "His legal power of representation" and "The Key to
"power" exposes the rights and privileges we have as members of that family.
The final chapter of this part shows the mature Christian in full bloom. First
we learned about the investment that God placed within us when we were born as
Christians. Then we learned that as we grew, we cultivated that initial investment through the

Christians, we are ready to accept 'The Responsibility of the Believer'; that shows that
we have progressed beyond the first stage with your selfish approach. The Christian has
spiritually matured to the point of accepting his responsibility, which simply

Chapter Two
The Unconditional Commitment
Romans 10:9,10
that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God
he raised you from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart one believes for righteousness, but with the mouth one confesses for salvation.
When a man confesses with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in his heart that
God raised Jesus from the dead, God creates a new spirit in that man who was before
from this confession I had only body and soul.** At the moment when you believe in the
Deep within your being that God raised Jesus from the dead, you are saved--you have life
eternal within itself.
This is the miracle of conversion, the new birth, a miracle of God through the
which a man or a woman of body and soul becomes a new creation in him, having
thus body, soul, and spirit.
That a man believes in his heart that God raised Jesus from the dead is 'to believe for
justice. Only after a person believes in justice is it possible for them to confess.
that Jesus is Lord. In this confession lies the salvation that a man receives because he
create.
What does the word 'salvation' mean? It means integrity or health: mental, physical,
spiritual. Colossians 2:10 defines 'integrity' as 'complete'. God has made us
"completamente completos", teniendo todas las cosas necesarias en esta vida y en aquella
what is to come.
"Heart is the literary figure catachresis and means: 'the innermost part of the mind.'"
2 Peter 2:12 and Jude 10 refer to men of body and soul as 'irrational animals.'
16
Justice, on the other hand, is our God-given ability to be and walk before God without
no sense of sin, guilt, or fear. Justice is ours by unique belief and
exclusively. We do not perform works to obtain justice; for if we did,
it would be something gained. We cannot work to obtain justice; simply
we accept the justice of God as a gift. The unconditional commitment gives so much justice
as integrity.
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
For by grace you are saved through faith; and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of
God;
But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.
But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of the gift of

All born-again believers have 'the faith of Jesus Christ' which is the measure given to each one.

I would believe in receiving the power from the Holy Spirit, and I would continue to teach about the
Holy Spirit anyway because the Bible warns in Ephesians 5:18: 'Do not be drunk'
Do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but be filled with the Spirit.
We must walk believing the promises of the Word of God; then we are
guaranteed the fulfillment of the promise even though it is possible that we may not see the
results immediately.
By belonging to Christ, you are a child of God. At the moment you turn...
A child of God becomes an heir to everything that God has made available.
Romans 8:17:
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ...
So, how can you, as a Christian, speak negatively? How can you
continue being full of fear? How can one live in their community and act as if
were defeated? You are not defeated. Satan has been defeated and the power of God
It is in you today.

Romans 8:11:
And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who
he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies

Do you want your body to be quickened--made alive, vital, vigorous? The Word says
that if you make the unconditional commitment to confess Jesus as your Savior and
sir believing that God raised Jesus from the dead, not only are you made alive
spiritually but also his physical body is being vivified right now.
Since you have within you the spirit coming from God, you are justified; you are no longer

You must not only be born again of the spirit coming from God, but you also have to

If by your free will you accept Christ as your savior and renew your mind...
According to the Word, you will find that every word I have written is true. You

Chapter Three
How to be a Christian
THE STUDENT WHO SEEKS: For years I have tried to be a Christian. I have tried and I
I have failed so many times that I'm not going to try again because I have no faith left to try.
THE MASTER: What is it that you attempted and in what have you lost faith?
THE SEEKER: I suppose I tried to make room for God in my life, but I have been
defeated so I have lost faith in myself. You see, I really wanted to be a
Cristiano, having the presence, the guidance, and the help of God in life. I took special classes,
I joined the church, I tried hard to be a Christian; but in my heart, I knew there was none.

I have sought God so many times that I feel like a total failure.
THE MASTER: Have you ever thought that salvation is a gift, that

What did Jesus do for you? Do you realize that being a child of God, receiving eternal life, being
saved, converted, reborn, is it receiving something instead of giving something?
You become a Christian by receiving a gift that comes directly from the
heart of God himself. You, like so many others, thought that receiving Christ
it depended on what you abandoned, on the things you renounced, on how many

You become a Christian by believing that God raised Jesus from the dead by confessing Him.
as a gentleman in his life.
THE SEEKER: I doubt it is as simple as that. I thought and heard and was taught that
I have to do certain things and give up others.
THE MASTER: If that were true, then you would be earning salvation; you would be
doing works for her. There is nothing in the Bible that indicates such a process. Look in Isaiah
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way;
but the Lord laid on him the iniquity of us all.
God is describing you just like the rest of us. You have separated yourself for your

he simply loaded his sins onto Jesus. Until now, nothing has been demanded of his

No, you have not sinned so much that Jesus cannot save you. Look at His Word in Hebrews.

Romans 10:9 and 10 says: 'that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and
if you believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the

Let's closely examine these verses. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is your
Sir, you are acting according to your belief. You have not yet done any work for your
salvation, isn't it? This isn't difficult to do, right? Your own way up to now
it has not been a happy road, a road of joy and peace, nor has it been a successful road. It has been
a path of deprivation and defeat. Romans 5:1 says: 'Therefore, having been justified by faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We are justified in
he and we have peace with God.
Now God says that all of this is His and that He wants you to change from being the lord of
his own life: that he yields and confesses with his mouth that Jesus is his lord.
THE ONE WHO SEEKS: It is easy for me to do that. I know that God sent Jesus to the world and that he
He was raised from the dead. It is easy to confess that Jesus is Lord.
THE MASTER: If you have confessed that Jesus is Lord, what does the Word say that you are?
THE MASTER: Do you believe that God raised Jesus from the dead and has confessed that
Is Jesus the Lord?
THE SEEKER: I do believe, and I have confessed. But I never thought that salvation would be so
easy to receive. Am I now a child of God?

just as he is.
How do you know that you are born again and that you are a child of God?
21
THE ONE WHO SEEKS: Because the Word says that I am. I believe that God raised Jesus from
the dead and I confessed to him as my lord, so the Word declares that I am a son of God.
THE MASTER: I John 5:13 "These things I have written to you who believe in the name

But what do you tell me about this justification from God that makes it possible for me to be in His presence?
without any sense of sin or guilt or defeat? Do I have that too?
THE MASTER: Look at 2 Corinthians 5:21: "He who knew no sin, for us he...
He made sin, so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
God made Jesus sin so that you could become the righteousness of God in Him. If He

God's justice is done in him now.
THE MASTER: Ephesians 2:8-10 says: "For by grace you are saved through faith; and
this is not from you, but is a gift from God; not by works, so that no one may boast. For
we are His creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand
in advance so that we would walk in them.
THE SEEKER: I never dreamed that receiving Christ could be so easy. Now I know that
I am a new creature in Christ, that I have eternal life now, and that I am righteous before God, and
that Satan no longer has power over me if I do not give him place.
How can I thank God through Jesus, my new savior and wonderful Lord!

Chapter Four
His legal power of representation
Every person in the world desires a good and respected name. People want them to
think well of her, and rightly so. I want to have a good name, and I want people
think well of me.
But the names of many people nowadays are not respected. A man says to you:
I will pay you on such and such a day.
"I will meet at such and such time." When that time arrives, they are not there and leave them waiting. The
the names of such people are not respected because neither their promises nor their words are
true.
In contrast to the word of man, the word of Christ is always true. More
yet, I know that Christ is in me and that I am in him (Colossians 1:27 to whom God wanted
to make known the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in
you are the hope of glory). It doesn't matter what people say, my name is written
in the Book of Life. But, in order to be able to help ourselves and to help
To others, we must know more than this: we must know what power we have now.
same, before the return of Christ.
One of the powers we have now as children of God is called 'the legal power of
representation". What is the legal power of representation? The legal power of representation
It is the legal right to use the name of the person who has granted the power. The only thing
what limits this power is the resources behind that name. If it has been given to the
Church the legal power of representation, she has only as much power as there is in
the name of Jesus Christ. If the name of Jesus Christ has power, and that name has been
given to you, then you have the legal power of representation to act in that
name any resource that Christ made available.
The purpose that God had in mind when giving us His name is stated in Ephesians.
Efesios 1:18-23
illuminating the eyes of your understanding, so that you may know what is the hope for
that he has called you, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power toward us who believe,
according to the operation of the power of its strength,
which operated in Christ, raising Him from the dead and seating Him at His right hand in the
heavenly places,
above all principality and authority and power and lordship, and above every name that is

and put all things under his feet, and gave him as head over all things to the
church
which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
All individuals in the true Church (the body of believers) can claim the
power in the name of Jesus Christ. But before studying the power that has been given to us,
I want to show you three reasons for the power in His name. First of all, Jesus
he inherited a name more excellent than any other because he is the only-begotten of the Father. This
he gave him the legal rights of a firstborn son. He is greater than any of
the angels or any other individual human being who has lived or will live. Next to
Jesus Christ, in the presence of God, believers are found. Did you know that?
Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God and joint heirs with.
Christ...
Jesus said: "I came out from the Father" and on another occasion he said: "I and the Father are one," and also:
"He who has seen me has seen the Father." Do you remember? Jesus inherited a name.
wonderful.
Philippians 2:9,10:
Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name.
name
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and in the
land, and beneath the land.
Ephesians 4:8:
Which is why it says: Ascending on high, he led captivity captive...
Colossians 2:15
and stripping the principalities and powers, he made a public spectacle of them,
triumphing over them on the cross.
Jesus achieved these things. He acquired this name by his conquest of the Devil, of hell,
of illness and ailment. He acquired an exalted name due to his achievements.
The power that Jesus acquired is the legal right of every born-again believer. But for a
believer manifest the power of Christ in their life, they must renew their mind according to the
Word of God.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.
24
Do not conform to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of
your understanding, so that you may prove what is the good will of God,
pleasant and perfect.
We must make our minds think as dictated by the Word of God so that
then we may prove the will of God.
In order to understand our power in the name of Jesus Christ, I will take you directly to the
Word of God.
She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.
And she will give birth to a son, and you shall call his name JESUS, for he will save his people from
their sins.
The prophecy says that the name of this child will be Jesus. Jesus means "Savior."
Matthew 1:23:
Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and you shall call his name Emmanuel,
God with us.
His name means 'He is our savior', and God is with us through him,
in the same way that you can be with me through your children.
Acts 4:12:
And there is no salvation in anyone else; for there is no other name under heaven given to...
men, in whom we can be saved.
There is no other name except that of Jesus Christ by which we can be saved. We cannot be
salvation by simply belonging to a church or by going to church on Christmas and Easter
of Resurrection. We must be saved by confessing the Lord Jesus Christ and believing that
God raised him from the dead. (Romans 10:9,10: that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus
if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Because with the heart one believes for righteousness, but with the mouth one confesses for salvation.
Acts 2:38:
Peter said to them: Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of
Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
John 14:13,14:
And all that you ask of the Father in my name [There is that wonderful name again
Yes, I will do it, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
25
The blessing of using the name of Jesus Christ belongs to us because we belong to the
Body of Christ, the Church. Paul said: "I pray that God opens their understanding so that
see some of the riches of the inheritance of the saints in the precious name--Jesus.
Ephesians 1:18: "enlightening the eyes of your understanding, that you may know what is
the hope to which he has called you, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance
in the saints.
In Acts 3, we again see the powerful name of Jesus Christ on the day when Peter and
Juan went to the temple and spoke to the man who was begging at the door. Did he ...
Peter and John knelt and pleaded with God for an hour to heal the man?
No. What does the story say?
Acts 3:6,7:
But Peter said: I have no silver or gold, but what I have I give you; in the name of
Jesus Christ of Nazareth, arise and walk.
And taking him by the right hand, he raised him up; and instantly his feet and
the ankles.
In the name of Jesus Christ there is power. Acts 3 recounts that the man whom Peter
he spoke, got up, and walked when the disciple took him by the hand.
Acts 3:16:
And by faith in His name [the name of Jesus Christ]... He has given this complete healing to him
presence of all of you.
Pablo used the powerful name of Jesus Christ as reported in Acts 16, to free
another enslaved person.
Acts 16:16-18
It happened that while we were going to prayer, a girl met us who
she had the spirit of divination, which brought great profit to her masters, by predicting.
She, following Paul and us, cried out, saying: These men are servants
from the Most High God, who announce to you the way of salvation.
And he did this for many days; but being annoyed by Paul, he turned and said to the
spirit: I command you in the name of Jesus Christ, to come out of her. And the spirit left.

What power the Church has today in the name of Jesus Christ! We need
claim that power. The Church of today has barely used the power of its name; without
use it, the Church can never manifest power. In the name of Jesus Christ, the sick
they are healed. In the name of Jesus Christ, people are freed from mental slavery. What
privilege and what power the Church should have.
26
Philippians 3:10:
to know him, and the power of his resurrection...
What a joy it is to belong to the Church. When we belong to the Church, we belong to the
the largest and most powerful body in the world; there is nothing, anywhere, like the
Church. The Church has such great power that not even the gates of Hades
They will prevail against her. That is why the Devil cannot harm the people of the

God.
You have been washed and sanctified, and you have been justified in His name; but you have to
receive it before manifesting it. Isn't it wonderful? We have all power in that name.
We have the legal power of representation so that when we use the name of Jesus Christ,
powerful things happen.
Hebrews 13:15:
So let us always offer to God, through him, a sacrifice of praise, that is,
fruit of lips that confess their name.
James 5:14,15:
Is any among you sick? Call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him,
anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
27
And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed
sins will be forgiven.
Do the elders have power in the Church? The elders have the power to move the
the very gates of hell! The Word says so.
1 John 3:23:
And this is His commandment: That we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and we
let us love one another as he has commanded us.
The Church has the legal power of representation, the right to use the name of
Jesus Christ. I have shown him the passages of Scripture that teach about the name of
Jesus Christ, which show the power that is behind that name.
Ask yourself honestly: "Do I have the legal power of representation?" You do have it.

Chapter Five
The Key to Power
When God created Adam and placed him in the garden of Eden, He gave Adam certain
legal rights. These legal rights were not Adam's by nature, they were not rights
innate. These legal rights were conferred rights. As long as you receive
conferred rights, not only has the privilege and opportunity to have them, but
also the possibility of losing them.
God granted Adam the authority and power to rule the earth with all its
creatures. Genesis 1:26 Then God said: Let us make man in our image,
in our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the heavens, over
the beasts, on all the earth, and on every animal that crawls on the ground. Thus, God
28
He limited Himself by giving that legal responsibility to Adam. Among other rights
the legal rights that God granted to Adam included the right to perfect love, to complete joy,
to happiness and perfect health. The right to eternal life was another granted right.
Adam --or man in general-- not only had certain conferred rights, but
also natural rights. These natural rights cannot be lost. Unlike
a natural right, you can use a legal right in any way you wish,
even though he doesn't have the moral right to do so. The legal right to use what belongs to him
it has been conferred to you is absolutely yours. If I were to grant a title to a person
university student with certain rights and privileges, the person could take the power that is
latent in that title and use it for good or for bad, use it to benefit man or to
to harm you.
This truth can be further illustrated by thinking in terms of a court of justice. Before
the court reads a will where it is stipulated that a certain amount has been given to you
of money. Would you then say that the amount of money is yours? Yes, because it has been given to you.
legally granted. Once that amount of money has been granted to you and you
You receive it, you can spend it wisely or foolishly, in the way you choose.
Anything given to man can be used for good or evil. When God gave to
Adam was given all the privileges mentioned in the Word, God also conferred upon him certain
legal rights that in turn gave Adam absolute control over the privileges
granted to him. Adam took those legal rights, and, by his own intentional decision,
he transferred the authority and power of those rights to Satan. Adam could have refused the
seductive invitation to sin that Eve made to him; however, using his free will
free will, he took his conferred rights, the dominion of the earth, and gave them to Satan.
With that decision, the man lost the legal rights that God had given him,
legally transferring them to another.
The original sin of man had legal consequences. Adam had the right to
to transfer the authority and power and dominion that he had because God had given it to him
granted. But Adam committed a betrayal by doing so. The transfer to Satan,
archenemy of God, the power that God had originally granted him, was betrayal.
Since that day, Romans 8:22 states that "...the whole creation [the earth] groans together, and together
she is still in labor pains until now.
Sin and the consequences of sin have been upon man since the day that
Satan received the legal right to rule over man and all the earth. Satan now has
the legal right to govern over unsaved men and over the world
whole. Thus, when Adam sinned, Satan, who was God's supreme enemy, obtained
absolute control over all that God had originally given to Adam.
The redemption of man from this fallen state was a unique act. We must remember
Whenever God is absolutely just. When He makes a legal commitment, He does it
respect. When God granted certain legal rights to Adam and Adam transferred them to
Satan, God had to acknowledge those transferred legal rights.
29
God, being just, must necessarily redeem man according to legal principles.
to be fair to oneself, to man, and to Satan. To carry out this justice
complete, the redeemer had to come to earth. This redeemer had to be a man.
because it was man who had committed the original sin.
To fulfill all the requirements of justice, the Holy Spirit carried out the conception.

sense, but the power of Satan had no authority over him because there was no
death in his body because the life in his blood was without sin or pure, and, for
consequent, incorruptible.
In several places in the New Testament, we read that the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from
Every sin.* I couldn't have cleaned if I hadn't been clean.
The child Jesus was neither subject to death nor subject to Satan. Satan knew the purpose.
of God and attempted to frustrate the plan of legal redemption by having Herod execute a
decree according to which all children aged two years or younger throughout the province
they had to be killed. Satan knew that if Jesus lived and grew, he would claim what the
man had lost, which at that time were the legal rights of Satan.
Every step that God took through Jesus Christ was a step based on legal principles. The
the redemption of man is based on legal principles. Jesus satisfied the just demands
of God because he was human, and yet he perfectly believed the will of God. He satisfied
the demands of a just God for all sinners forever. Hebrews 4:15 says
that the Son of God "... was tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin."
Redemption included his crucifixion, as 1 Peter tells us.
1 Peter 2:24:
who himself carried our sins in his body on the wood, so that
we, being dead to sin, may live to righteousness; and by whose wounds
you were healed.
Jesus paid the full legal price for the sin of man and the consequences of it.
sin. He descended to Hades (the grave), and at some point between the resurrection and
his appearance to Mary, he preached in his resurrected body to the imprisoned spirits.
Peter 3:19: "in which also he went and preached to the imprisoned spirits." He broke
legally the chains of authority and power of Satan. Jesus redeemed what Adam had
legally transferred to Satan. Since the resurrection of Christ and the giving of the Holy Spirit
On the day of Pentecost, the power and dominion of Satan over man are broken.
there is absolutely no control that Satan has or holds legally over
any saved man.
1 John 1:7 "but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of
Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
Hebrews 9:12 "and not by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood, He entered once
forever in the Most Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption.
30
Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and took with Him the proofs of His victory over the Devil.
Therefore it says, 'When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.' (In saying, 'He ascended,' what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth? He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)
Therefore it says: Ascending on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to the
men.
And what does it mean that he ascended, except that he also descended first to the lower parts?
the lowest points on earth?
The one who descended is the same one who also ascended above all the heavens to
fill it all.
Based on the complete victory of Jesus, the sinner today has a legal right to the
salvation. If Jesus Christ had not completed that just victory, by means of being a
man and defeat Satan and his power, there would be no reader of this book who could
claiming salvation based on legal grounds. The completed victory of Christ
gives legal rights to the born-again Christian.
You have a legal right to eternal life because of what Jesus did. You have a legal right to
the victory over all sin and the consequences of sin. Everything that man lost
in Adam, Christ has legally redeemed him for humanity. You have rights today
legal to a home in the sky. You have the legal right to use the authority of the name of
Jesus Christ in prayer in order to obtain results.* You have the legal right to be a child
of God, friend of God, heir, yes, co-heir with Christ Jesus in the family of God.
You have the legal right to receive the resident presence of the Holy Spirit. You have
the legal right to be transformed at the moment of his second coming, if he is alive in
this moment.*** You have a legal right to an immortal body.**** You have a right
legal to an inheritance in the new heaven and the new earth. This is only a part of the
legal rights that are yours because of what Jesus Christ did. He bought and delivered to God the
complete redemption of man. Jesus Christ purchased you, and that purchase was complete and
complete. Due to the purchase he made, we have legal rights that are a gift of grace.
Christians today have a delegated authority that God has given in Christ. But
the Church has not claimed or appropriated its rightful rights. The Church has not
claimed their rights, their power, and their authority because Satan has dissuaded us from it.

There is only one good power in the world--the power of God. Satan also has power,

At the moment that a person confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord in their life, believing
in his heart that God raised him from the dead, he becomes a son of God, born

to do, and even more, if we believe.** This is a gift of the grace of God.
God will do what He said He would do. We have believed so many things that Satan has
said, but we have believed so little of what God has said. How often God makes a
promise in the Word saying that He will do such and such a thing, but we do not believe a word.
When a friend makes a promise to us, we believe every word; but when it comes to
the promises that God gives us in the Bible, we say: "Oh no! That can't be true. That
it was fine for spiritual men like the apostles, but not for Christians like

Christ has delegated his authority to the believers who make up the Church, the saints of the
house of faith. If the Church does not take on its responsibility and the opportunities that have been given to it
delegated, the power and authority of God are paralyzed. God has taken action in
Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ took action to reclaim the legal rights for man.
Now it is the man's turn to take action with the authority and power that have been delegated to him.
through Jesus Christ, because Satan has no legal right over the converted man,

For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
Satan, however, still has definitive legal rights over the sinner.
the unconverted sinner legally belongs to the Devil in body and soul. But Christ has
broken that power for those of us who have been born of the Spirit of God and know His
power within us.

Chapter Six
Being in communion is the secret
The main key to a successful Christian life is to be in communion with the Heavenly Father.
Christians manifest the abundant life in direct proportion to the communion that
they maintain with Him. But before a person can have communion, they must have
affiliation. We cannot have communion with the Father until we have become
His children. Filiation makes us just before God and without any blemish, and it begins with
our relationship with Him begins us in perfect communion with our Father. Our
the relationship between Father and son never changes, but our communion continues to depend on our
renewal of the mind according to His Word. A believer has both position and state in
the house of God. His position remains constant: he will always be a son. But the state of this
believer varies directly according to their behavior, that is, their living in
communion according to the Word of God.
What happens when a person becomes a child of God and becomes part of
the family of God? At the moment of rebirth, the believer is made absolute and
completely just--as just as Jesus Christ himself, with the same justice of God. We
the Father himself gives it.
2 Corinthians 5:21:
He who knew no sin [Jesus], for our sake made [God] sin, so that
we would be made justice of God in Him.
34
I wish we believed! So many Christians are convinced that they have to wait until
to die to know if they go to heaven. The Word says that there is no waiting at all. The believers
they are just now. They will not come to trial or condemnation.
John 5:24
Truly, truly I say to you: He who hears my word, and believes [hearing is not enough, he has]
that is accompanied by belief or the corresponding action] to the one who sent me [the
Father, has eternal life; and will not come to
condemnation, but has passed from death to life.
This verse tells us what happens to believers now, not what will happen when
they die. We have eternal life now.
Some time ago I was called to the hospital to see a man who was on the brink of
death due to a heart problem. He was in an oxygen chamber and his life
was rapidly extinguishing. The man was not saved, but God is so great in His
mercy and grace that even the unsaved are healed. I ministered healing to him in the
name of Jesus Christ for his physical liberation. The next day this man, in perfect
health, he said: "If God is good enough to heal me, when I have done nothing for Him,
"I want to know that God." He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.
confessing with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believing in your heart that God had raised
to Jesus of the dead. The moment this man confessed and believed, he was saved and
received eternal life. God gave him justice, which is the remission of all sin, placing in
both to the freed man in the family of God and in communion with God Himself.
God, through Christ, has made us legal heirs with Jesus Christ and establishes us
In perfect communion. Job 33:26 says: '... He restores to man his righteousness.'
literal). Therefore, a child of God at the moment of rebirth is restored in the
presence of the Father with the Father's own righteousness. In the family of God, every believer
he has the legal position of a child.
According to the Word of God, the believer is righteous, but the believer, as it says in: 1
John 1:7, has to walk '... in the light, as he [God] is in the light...' The believer has to
walk in light, walk as God directs, submit your body and soul to the Word through
the renewal of your mind. Renewing the mind means living according to the Word of God
It says that we must live. This keeps us in communion. Our affiliation cannot be
put into doubt because it depends on God and His completed work in Christ Jesus, but
our communion depends on our walk before God.
Communion with God as our Father is the key to power in our daily walk.
On the earth. Without communion, we cannot produce the fruits of justice. Communion

it makes the family's life a happy life. The broken communion does not break the kinship,
but it takes away happiness. If your child disobeys you, he is still your child; simply
You two are not enjoying each other's company to the fullest.
Communion is the only thing that contributes to developing a happy situation both in a
human family just like in a spiritual family. Communion with God is the key to power;
it's the only way to manifest the more abundant life or to manifest that we are 'more than
"winners". The mind, renewed according to the Word, can remain in communion.
with God and express the results of such union. John 15:5 says: 'I am the vine, you are the branches.'
vines; he who remains in me [he who lives according to the Word]... bears much
fruit..." Not renewing the mind, which is not living according to the guidance of the Word, is broken fellowship. The
broken communion does not destroy the relationship between God and His son, but does tarnish and deteriorate it.
relationship, robbing it of its blessings and powers.
When a child is out of communion with God, he cannot receive answers to his
sentences. It's not that God does not wish to respond to the requests of His son, but that the
broken communion from the son makes his trust in God something wavering and uncertain.
Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him.
Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence in God;
Whenever and wherever children do not receive answers to their prayers, the reason is
the broken communion, whether due to ignorance or failure to live the Word. God is faithful to His
promises and He will do what we ask; therefore, if it does not happen, it is because the
the man has not fulfilled his part in the relationship.
When a child of God is out of communion with their Heavenly Father, nothing goes well; but
when communion is restored, things begin to work.
36
The broken communion takes the flavor out of Christian living. When a child is in communion with
his earthly father, he enjoys rights and privileges, but when he is out of communion,
he is miserable and frustrated. Similarly, a child of God out of communion is
miserable and frustrated in his search for positive results to his requests.
We must maintain communion if we want the power of God manifested in our
daily living. The most abundant life--our liberation from the power of Satan in this
the world depends on maintaining the communion established with God.
The epistle of 1 John dramatically illustrates the relationship and communion of a child with God.
Juan simply states how a person maintains communion and what they should do.
when communion has been broken and it is necessary to restore it.
That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full. This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
... and our fellowship is truly with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.
This is the message we have heard from him, and we announce to you: God is light, and there is no
no darkness in him.
If we say that we have communion with him, and walk in darkness [being out of
communion is walking in darkness], we lie, and do not practice the truth;
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another.
[because as believers we are in Christ], and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son us
cleanse us from all sin [whenever we are out of communion].
If we say we have no sin [that we have not broken communion], we deceive ourselves.

If we say that we have not sinned [broken communion], we make him a liar, and his

My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin [It is the will of God that
let us not break communion; and if anyone has sinned [broken the communion],
We have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
And he is the propitiation for our sins [broken communion]; and not only for those
ours, but also by those from all over the world.
37
The will of God for every believer is declared in 1 John 2:6 where it is written: 'Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.'
whoever says he abides in Him [abides in God through Christ Jesus] ought to walk just as He walked.
He [Jesus Christ] walked.
To the extent that the Word dwells abundantly in us, we have a rich communion and
full with our Father. To the extent that we believe and act according to the Word of
God, our lives will be full, rich, and fruitful because of our communion with God.

What is true worship?
I am sure that by observing the different religious groups, the different churches and
different denominations you have asked yourself countless times: what exactly is
Worship? While some churches have altars, they have candles, incense, water.
blessed, other denominations have no symbol at all. Surely you have noticed
so many variations that they have come to ask: "If this is how they worship, why this
another group worships in such a different way? Each group may have a grain of
true, but such diversity of religious rites among Christian believers cannot be
everyone in harmony with the Word of God.
You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know; for the

God is Spirit; and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
38
Jesus Christ said: "You worship what you do not know..." I believe that applies to the
the majority of people. Everyone adores. The question is: are we worshiping correctly?
Do we know how or why we worship?
About worship, Jesus Christ said that 'the hour is coming... when the true'
worshipers will worship the Father in spirit [The word "in" is the same Greek word

Not through candles, nor through altars, nor through the reading of the Bible, nor through

that the meaning is only one. "Spirit" is a noun and "truth" is also one. So it
use the double noun to double the emphasis that it is 'spiritually true' or
"truly spiritual." The Father seeks true worshipers who will worship Him in this way--in

then we will know how to truly worship Him.
The question is not what such or such person thinks, but rather, what does the Word of God say?

Thus, you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition. Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying: 'These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'
This people honors me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
Did their worship seem genuine? Were they carrying out their religious rite? Judging by the flesh,
we would have given them our approval. But what did the Lord say? "... for in

Then the Pharisees and the scribes asked him: Why do your disciples not walk

For they honor me in vain, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.
Because leaving aside the commandment of God, you hold on to the tradition of men: the
washing of pitchers and drinking vessels; and you do many other things
similar.
He said to them also: Well [with full knowledge] you invalidate the commandment of God
to preserve your tradition.
What kind of worship is this? Vain worship. Simply carrying out the
Traditions of men are a hollow action.
Romans 1:25:
Since people changed the truth of God for the lie, honoring and giving
worship of the creatures before the Creator...
They adored man more than they worshiped God. Vain worship has been
happening for a long time. The children of Israel turned away from God and worshiped in vain.
In Acts 7 and Revelation 9 there are accounts about how the children of Israel
they rejected the preaching of their man of God, Moses, and began to worship spirits
diabolical.
Acts 7:40-47:
when they said to Aaron [the children of Israel said to Aaron]: Make us gods that
go before us; for this Moses, who brought us out of the land of Egypt,
we don't know what has happened to him/her.
Then they made a calf, and offered sacrifice to the idol, and in the works of their
hands rejoiced.
And God withdrew, and delivered them to worship the army of heaven [spirits
diabolical]; as it is written in the book of the prophets: Did you perhaps offer me

Which, in turn received by our parents, they introduced it with Joshua when taking
possession of the land of the gentiles, whom God cast out from His presence
our fathers, up to the days of David.
He found grace in the sight of God, and requested to provide a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.

But Solomon built a house.
And the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk.

they repented of the works of their hands, nor did they cease to worship demons, and to the

To worship the Devil and the demonic spirits and everything related to them is
worship in vain. Satan tried to deceive even Jesus himself into worshiping in vain.

Revelation 19:20:
And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed before it the

Revelation 22:9:
But he said to me: Look, do not do it; for I am your fellow servant, of your brothers the

How are we going to worship God by the Spirit if we are not born again of the Spirit?
God? It's impossible. If we are reborn of the Spirit of God, filled with the power of the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit that produces true worship is speaking in tongues.
1 Corinthians 14:2:
For he who speaks in tongues does not speak to men, but to God...

Speaking in tongues is speaking the wonders of God.
Acts 2:11:
Cretans and Arabs, we hear them speaking in our tongues the wonders of God.
Acts 10:46;
Because they heard them speaking in tongues and magnifying God.
Romans 8:26:
And in the same way the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know what we ought to pray for

I Corinthians 14:17:
For you, truly, give thanks well...
Speaking in tongues worship 'in [through] spirit and in truth'. Speaking in tongues is
true worship. God, who is Spirit, is communicating with His gift of spirit
holy that is His new creation in me. In other words, true worship is the
Spirit of God speaking to my spirit, which is evidenced through speaking in
languages. How beautiful and simple is worship, and yet, how much has it
misunderstanding.
Chapter Eight
The Responsibility of the Believer
Believers throughout all periods of history have had the opportunity and the
responsibility to bear witness to the Word of God. We, the ones of the Era of the
Church, we also have our specific 'commission.' In Philippians 2, the Apostle Paul
reveals to us the conditions in which the world is and what our responsibilities are
to do with him.
Philippians 2:15 so that you may be blameless and chaste, children of God without blemish in
in the midst of a wicked and perverse generation, among whom you shine like
luminaries in the world;
This passage is directed to the Church. Believers are equipped to live lives
irrefutable and simple because they are the children of God.
43
What circumstances does God say surround His children? They live "in the midst of a
"malignant and wicked generation." As believers, we are right in the center, like the axis.
of a wheel, with all the possibilities of shining like lights in a tortuous world
and deformed.
John 12:46 I, the light, have come into the world, so that whoever believes in me does not
stay in darkness.
Christ was that light, but now we are the ones shining like luminaries,
the words of The Word of God as it truly is: The Word of Life.
You do not need to ask a person if they are saved. The Word says that simply
we must shine, holding on to the Word of Life, presenting it, showcasing it,
showing it, so that they can see. The Word is in itself the testimony.
Think about the privilege we have of being able to reach someone with the Gospel of Light,
even if it is to a single person in our entire life. She could be the key person in a
community or throughout an area. The person you win for Christ could be the one that you
He will win over hundreds of thousands. Someone, once, testified to him and won against the greatest.
saints of all times; yes, someone who was showing the Word of Life, holding on to
The believer is the one who has the opportunity and the responsibility to display the Word in a
evil and wicked world.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold,
here all are made new.
I was taught to believe that this writing meant that when Christ entered a
Man, then that person was a new creature. This is not at all what the
Verse 17 of 2 Corinthians 5 says. Read it again: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ
[in Christ]... "This verse says nothing about Christ being in a man, as
Colossians 1:27 says, '...Christ in you, the hope of glory.'
The miracle of the new birth means Christ in you. However, Christ in you does not
it automatically places him in your mind, that is, you in Christ, you in
communion. Romans 12:2 declares that it is we ourselves who have to
put Christ and the Word of God in our minds: "be transformed by the
renewal of your mind." Philippians 2:5 states: "Let this mind be in you
this feeling that was also in Christ Jesus.
44
2 Corinthians 5:17 is talking about the believer who has renewed his mind, the one who has been
transformed by the renewal of your mind according to the Christ who lives within
of him. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation." One thing is that Christ
stay in you, and another completely different that you stay in Christ. When
you are in Christ, when you have set Christ in your mind, then you have power in
demonstration.
John 15:7 If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, ask for anything
what you want, and it will be done.
As you renew your mind according to the Word, you become a new
creature. The old things [in the mind] have passed. The old desires, the old longings and the
Old temptations disappear. Behold, all things are made new.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: old things have passed away; behold,
here all are made new.
And all this [when we have renewed our minds, when we are in Christ]
comes from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave us the
Ministry of Reconciliation.
It is through Jesus Christ that we are reconciled with God. We lost our
spiritual connection with God through Adam. As a consequence of disobedience of
Adam, sin passed to all men, for all men are dead in sins.
and sins. But Jesus came and repaired the broken communication line; Jesus
he restored the proper connection. And all this comes from God, who reconciled us
himself through Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.
Once we are reconciled with God through Jesus Christ, then God gives us
to us the ministry of reconciliation. So our role as believers is
reconcile.
What does the word 'reconcile' mean? It means: to bring back together that which has
has been separated. God has given you, as a believer, that ministry of bringing back to
He those people who are separated. Our responsibility is to talk about the
great possibilities that each man has in Christ Jesus. We simply must
show the love of God; show people that Jesus Christ died for them and was resurrected
more than nineteen hundred years ago. We have to demonstrate the power of God, manifest it
that a believer has in Christ, show how great Christ is.
45
2 Corinthians 5:19

reconcile people with God.
Isaiah speaks to the extreme need people have to be brought back to God.
Isaiah 53:6: All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
We all went astray like sheep, each one turned to his own way;
but the Lord laid on him the iniquity of us all.
"All of us have gone astray like sheep." Each one is lost in some
moment. The reason: "everyone went their separate ways." We lost the true path.
because we have parted ways on our own path. God had to do something about the
the mess we had gotten into, so He reconciled us to Himself through
of Christ Jesus. How did He do it? "Bearing in Him [Jesus] the sin of all of us."
God carried all our sins and all the sins of everyone else onto Jesus.
a great responsibility of the believer is the ministry of reconciliation--to bring back together
that which has been broken or separated--between God and man. We must share the
Word of Life with everyone, because all have gone astray. We have already been
reconciled with God; now it is our responsibility to shine, holding on to His
Word "in the midst of a wicked and perverse generation." When we display the Word
of Life, we shine like luminaries in the world. This is our ministry of
Reconciliation. This is our responsibility.

Third Part
But before we can externally manifest that power, we have to activate it. And the
the key to transforming our potential power into active power lies in our worship,
specifically in our speaking in tongues.
The first chapter in this Part explains and shows us from the Bible itself what is the
speaking in tongues. After the explanation comes a practical chapter: "How to speak in
languages." Then a complete understanding of the power of speaking in tongues is given in the
magnificent study: "Filled to Overflowing". That chapter is a Bible study of two
Greek words: plëroö and plëthö. In an exciting way, the Word of God tells us that not
we are not only full to the brim with the power of God, but we are also full
until we overflow. Now is the time to connect with this power, with this
strength and abundance that can overflow into every facet of our lives.

Chapter Nine
Speaking in tongues
No one can go beyond what they have been taught, and a teacher can only teach
what you know. If you want to help another person, first you have to receive yourself.
Help; otherwise it would be like a blind person guiding another blind person, and both would be stumbling.
One of the least understood areas in the Bible is related to the Holy Spirit,
both the Giver and the gift of the Holy Spirit. Let's end our blindness.
Let us study the Word of God to understand His will.
First of all, let us clarify that God is Holy Spirit. When a person is reborn, God
he gives a gift to His new son. And since God is the Holy Spirit, He can only give
what He is: Holy Spirit. To help distinguish between God the Giver and His gift, the
Donor, Holy Spirit, is always written with capital letters, while His gift, spirit
saint is always written in lowercase.
A person receives the Holy Spirit when they confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God
he raised him from the dead, as taught in Romans 10:9-10. The gift of the Holy Spirit has

we want to specifically examine the manifestation of speaking in tongues--when it occurs

A believer who operates in the manifestation of the spirit called tongues will be edified.
spiritually, he will be strengthened spiritually. There are two situations in which he can
operate this manifestation: in public and in private. 1) Most of the speaking in tongues

Speaking in tongues both in public and in private is called speaking to God.
When you pray silently in the spirit, you are speaking in tongues. When
in a meeting of believers you speak in the spirit aloud, you are also speaking in
languages. These different uses of speaking in tongues should be kept separate from each other.
the other. We need to learn how to operate speaking in tongues, and manifest it with
accuracy according to the Word.
Let's consider speaking in tongues within the Church. In the Word of God, the 'Church'
refers to the reborn children of God, those who are filled with the power coming from the
Holy Spirit and who operates the manifestations of the spirit. In the Church, speaking in
tongues with interpretation by a believer is a message coming from God or in His name
from God directed to the body of believers for the edification of the group through
48
exhortation and consolation. 'To exhort' means 'to encourage to a more worthy effort.'
To console is to provide a peaceful serenity, a tranquility, and acquiescence to the
grandiosity of the things that God wants to communicate." Speaking in tongues with his
Interpretation builds the Church by exhorting and/or comforting them.
Speaking in tongues privately and speaking in tongues with interpretation in public have
two ways to clearly build differently. The private message is a sentence that
builds the spirit of the one who speaks. The public message is a communication that builds the
minds of the people present, including that of the speaker. Now, is it built in its
spirit the person who speaks in tongues and interprets in a meeting of believers? No. The
speaking in tongues in a meeting of believers by one who also interprets does not edify
this believer in the spirit, for the spoken message is from God to the people, and the
interpretation, in the language of the majority of the people present, is for the edification of
body of believers. A public message with its interpretation does not nurture the spirit of the one who
speaks, rather, builds up the minds of the people gathered.
The Word of God explicitly teaches that when a person speaks in tongues in a
meeting of believers, he has to interpret to build up the minds of the Body. Without
embargo, there are children of God who speak in tongues in a meeting of believers but do not
They have enough belief or knowledge to inspire them to interpret. They
they are what I call 'unbelieving believers'. They know they can speak in tongues in
their private lives and some of them even speak in gatherings of believers, but not
screen for interpreting.
If these "unbelieving believers", who do not believe to interpret, were to speak in tongues in the
Church, under such circumstances, its spirit would be built up. Its speaking would not be a message.
from God to the people, because if it were, it would have to be interpreted.
To understand this, you have to understand about the foreknowledge of God. Does God know?
Before I speak in tongues at a meeting of believers, should I interpret or not?
As God knows that I will interpret when I speak in tongues, He gives a message to the
People; and vice versa, if God knows that I am going to speak in tongues but that I am not going to
He inspires a prayer that, I repeat, builds up the spirit of the one who speaks.
Both in praying privately to God in the spirit and in giving a message in tongues with
Interpretation in a meeting of believers is called speaking in tongues. The reason for which...
which confuses the two uses is because people are always looking for a way to
break the Word of God. Why not seek a way to see how the Word fits in
instead of breaking it into pieces? We should believe in the integrity of the Word and allow it to
Word I speak. Then we harmonize our lives and our beliefs according to what it says in
the Word. We examine the Word to see how the entire Word fits together precisely.
In the Church, speaking in tongues must be done by believers who believe to interpret,
or it will not be used for the specific purpose that God intended. Those Christians who

they are simply saying a prayer. These people should not speak aloud in the
Church but they must pray silently in tongues for themselves and for God.

For he who speaks in tongues does not speak to men, but to God; for no one understands him.
understand, although through the Spirit he speaks mysteries.
The content of what you speak in tongues is a matter of God, but the fact of speaking is
your responsibility. On the day of Pentecost, as always, what the person spoke was
a language unknown to him, but not necessarily to the listeners. At Pentecost
a group of listeners understood what Pedro was saying, another understood Mateo, another understood to
Juan, and so on with the other apostles. There is a possibility that a listener
understand the language, because it is God who gives what is to be spoken. The Holy Spirit, God,

The word is the same: you speak to God and He speaks to you. That is the essence.
Now, one point that must be studied and understood is that speaking in tongues in life
the private prayer of one builds up the speaker.
1 Corinthians 14:4:
He who speaks in tongues... edifies himself...
In a meeting of believers, I am the one who speaks in tongues; but as I speak, God
to talk about. Then I give the interpretation coming from God, which will edify the
minds of the believers.
There are two basic ways in which you can build your mind: 1) Study the Word and
let it dwell abundantly in your mind. 2) Participate in a meeting of believers
where speaking in tongues is interpreted, for the interpretation will give your mind
knowledge that will exhort and comfort.
When a message in tongues is given with its interpretation, is my spirit edified? No.
But my mind, like the minds of the other people present, is uplifted.
the mind of the Christian must be built up, because the mind --the thought-- is what
As a person thinks, so is he. The Bible says in Proverbs 23:7: 'For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.'
As he thinks in his heart, so is he...
When a man of body, soul, and spirit speaks in tongues in his private life of
prayer or in a meeting of believers and does not believe to interpret, his speaking in tongues will be

Verse 4 of 1 Corinthians 14 states: "He who speaks in a tongue... edifies himself..."
When we speak in tongues without interpretation, we build up the spirit that is in
we, called the inner man.
Now, the problem we are facing is that some say that the spirit of the
Christ in you is perfect, therefore, how can this speak in tongues, build up the
spirit? Why does the spirit of a Christian need to be built up? The spirit is the same as
a baby, which, although perfect, still needs to be fed. The same

The fundamental law involved in this matter is that God is Spirit and only

because they do not keep their biblical principles clear. I know that the spirit is perfect. But
Christians themselves stagnate spiritually. They do not maintain their freshness because
many of them do not build their spirits through speaking in tongues. In their private lives
of prayer, his spirit is built up, it grows through speaking in tongues --not through the
interpretation, not through prophecy.
The interpretation and prophecy build up the body of believers, not in their spirits but in
sus mentes.
I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified.
So, I would like all of you to speak in tongues, but more than
you would prophesy...
This is where people generally stop reading to say that speaking in tongues in the
Church is not very important. They would prefer that a believer prophesy. Most of
the people who put forward this argument, in turn, never prophesy. Do you see the subtle deception of
Satan? He wants to belittle the Word, to tear the Word apart. There is nothing that
equal the speaking in tongues in your private life. This will build you up spiritually, while
to speak boldly in tongues with interpretation in a meeting of believers
builds up the body of believers.
I Corinthians 14:5:
So, I would like all of you to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy.
[in the Church]; for greater is he who prophesies than he who speaks in tongues, unless
that they may interpret them so that the church may be edified.
When the believer speaks in tongues and interprets, the Church receives edification.
Spirit? No. Where? In the mind. The interpretation is always in the language of the
majority of the people present. It is for this reason that in 1 Corinthians 14:3 'But he who prophesies

Chapter Ten
How to speak in tongues
Now that you know why tongues are spoken and when tongues are spoken, I know that you
I would like to receive in manifestation the power of the fullness of the Holy Spirit. I know that to you
He would like to speak of the wonders of God and magnify God. To do this, there is one thing
what you have to do and that is: believe the Word of God. Without a doubt you believe the Word
of God for what He has promised, not only desires to do it, but is capable of
do it. I can assure you, by the integrity of the Word of God, that when you

no one was overlooked. No one is overlooked if they have heard the Word and if they believe it and then
Act according to her. God is always faithful and as a result, nobody can be overlooked.

In 1 Thessalonians 2:13 Paul thanked God that 'when you received the Word

truly, the word of God.” You also have to follow the truth of God as it is

53
Have you ever analyzed the mechanics of speaking? You, with your own organs
vowels must produce speech. The same mechanics used to speak Spanish
or any other known language is the one used in speaking in tongues. For example,
If I say: "I love the Lord Jesus Christ", what did I do mechanically? I moved the
lips, I moved my tongue, I moved my throat, I made the sounds and I had to think. Everything
this is involved in the mechanics of speaking.
Say aloud: 'I love the Lord Jesus Christ.' What did he do? He moved his lips, the
throat and tongue to speak. You formulated the words; you propelled them towards
outside.
The only difference between speaking in tongues and speaking in Spanish is that when I say: 'I
I love the Lord Jesus Christ," I have to think. When I speak in tongues, I do not think the
words that I speak. God gives the words to my spirit, and I formulate them on my lips. I
I do not think the words, but they are there when I move my lips, my throat, my tongue.
Create an environment to feel very comfortable and at ease. You have to move your lips, the
throat, the tongue; you push the air through the vocal cords to produce the
sounds. You have to formulate the words, but the words you speak, like in
Acts 2:4, as the Spirit gives them to speak. The content of what you speak is
matter of God, but the fact of speaking is your matter. I produce the sounds, but the
the words that I speak are given to my spirit. God gives what is to be spoken, and they are
words that magnify His Name, that speak of the wonders of God. This is the
greatness of the manifestation of speaking in tongues.
If you understand the mechanics of speaking in Spanish or any other language you know,
then you understand the mechanics of speaking in tongues. If you are born again of the Spirit
From God, the power is in you, but it is you who has to speak—not God—you do it.
It does. You will have no difficulty with God; the only difficulty you might have
it would be in your own mind and in your understanding of what you have to do. You, not the
Spirit, move the lips; you move the tongue; move the throat; you give sound to
the words by the power of God that is in you. Thus you are declaring the
stupendous wonders of God. How simple and beautiful it is!
Acts 2:38
Peter said to them: Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of
Jesus Christ for the forgiveness [remission] of sins; and you will receive [lambanö,*
you will manifest the gift of the Holy Spirit [pneuma hagion].
There are two Greek words for 'receive' that are used in relation to receiving the Holy Spirit. Dechomai wants
to say 'to receive the inherent power and ability'. Lambanö means 'to receive to the degree of manifesting'
externally
54
This is for the Age of the Church in which you and I live. When you confess with
your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes that God raised him from the dead, you have the
remission of sins.
The Word says: 'you will receive'. You must manifest in the world of the senses the proof.
of what he has received spiritually. When you manifest, you speak of the wonders of God; you
magnify God.
John 7 tells us a great truth that you and I need to understand when
We manifest the power of the Holy Spirit.
John 7:37,38:
...Jesus stood up and raised his voice, saying: if anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.
Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture says, rivers of living water will flow from within them.
The word 'interior' indicates the depth of a man's soul. 'From the depths of
"that man rivers [not small streams] of living water will run." When you receive in
manifestation of the power coming from the Holy Spirit, you do not receive more substance
spiritual; you simply receive as evidence, in manifestation in the world of
senses, what you already have spiritually within you. To manifest the Holy Spirit does not
it means that you have been given something new; you are simply manifesting it to
his senses what he has inside. The gift is already in you. God gave you the ability to speak
in tongues when you were reborn. The act of speaking in tongues is your responsibility;
You already have the potential. If you do not speak in tongues, it is not because God has not given it to you.
the ability. God promised through His son: "from his inside rivers of water will flow
long live.
This is what Jesus Christ spoke and what he said to the apostles before ascending. About his
interior, from the deepest part of his being, rivers of living water would flow. So when you
begin to speak in tongues, formulate the words, speak the words and let them flow
bubbly, let them flow freely, not drop by drop. When you begin to speak
in languages, let it flow with one sound after another. That is what the Word says and that is what
what does it mean.

Why can we demand the Holy Spirit? Because it has already been given to us.
I want to point out one more thing. The biggest shipments in life enter into
port when the seas are calm. When the seas are rough, the boats
they wait offshore; but when the seas calm, the large cargo ships
they return to the port. The largest shipments of our spiritual life are received
when our inland seas are calm. One of the things that the Word of God

Galatians 3:5:
He who supplies you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, does he do so
by the works of the law, or by hearing with faith?
How do I minister the Holy Spirit to people? Do I do it by hearing with faith? Yes! I do not do
this due to the works of the law.
Sit quietly and do exactly what I tell you. Remember that the Word of
God says in Job 29:23: "They would wait for me as for the rain, and open their mouths wide as for the spring rain." To drink, you have

Chapter Eleven
Full to overflowing
Immediately before his ascension, as reported in chapter 20 of John, Jesus Christ
instructed his disciples about a new dimension that they would have in his glorious
to walk from the day of Pentecost.
John 20:22:
And having said this, he breathed [in Greek it says 'breathed in': inhaled] and said to them:
Receive the Holy Spirit [the Greek text uses the words lambanö pneuma hagion,*

In the first hour of prayer on the day of Pentecost, when the apostles 'inhaled',
they confessed with their mouth that Jesus is Lord believing that God had raised him up from
among the dead, and thus they were reborn of the Spirit of God and were spiritually filled

maximum (plëroö), while the fullness in manifestation of that birth is being full
until overflowing (plëthö). Salvation gives plëroö, a fullness at maximum capacity:
manifesting the Holy Spirit gives abundance, overflowing fullness. This study focuses on
essentially in plëroö and plëthö, which describe all the facets of knowledge that we
they are available regarding the new birth.
Plëthö is a more recent form of the word pimplëmi, a derivative of pleos. Both
plëroö and plëthö are derived from the basic root word pleos, which means "full".
pimplëmi wanted to say 'full to maximum capacity and overflowing'. In Greek literature, it
It is used as a metaphor in the case of a river that overflows its banks. It is also used to describe
the full moon when it is overflowing in all its brightness. Plëroö means "to fill"
only to normal capacity" like a river filled to its natural or normal flow; plëthö
means 'to fill to overflowing in abundance.'

Colossians 2:9:
For in him [Christ] dwells all the fullness [plērōma, coming from]

Christ was filled to capacity with the fullness of Deity. The fullness of God
overflowing from Jesus Christ made it possible for Jesus to say: "Whoever has seen me has
seen by the Father. Jesus Christ declared the Father; made God known. Jesus was overflowing
with the presence, the power, and the Word of God, and thus declared God.
There is an illustration that beautifully teaches about the new birth and manifestations.
Suppose we have a glass that represents the natural man; the liquid inside the
glass represents spirit. When the spirit enters (when man confesses with his mouth that
Jesus is the Lord and believing that God raised him from the dead), this man of body and
soul is full (plëroö) to normal capacity in all its being. This is the filling of the new
birth indicated in John 20:22 by 'breathed'. Then 'Receive [lambanö, receive immediately
to manifest it] is to be full (plëthö), which is the overflowing fullness. Biblically the
filling with the new birth (plëroö) must always be associated with overflowing (plëthö)
in demonstration.
Acts 1:5:
For John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with [in] it
Holy Spirit [holy spirit the gift] within a few days.
Those 'baptized with the Holy Spirit' is the fullness of the new birth, plëroö, full of
capacity.

John 7:38,39:
Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.
This he said about the Spirit that they were to receive [lambanö, receive in manifestation] the

has still been glorified.
The historic events of Pentecost, including the new birth with its
various overflowing attributes are described in Acts 2.
Acts 2:1
When the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind [strong breathing]*
what was blowing, which [the inhaling of all of them] filled [plëroö] the whole house where
they were sitting.

languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
The word 'llenó' in verse 2 is plëroö, which means 'filled to maximum capacity'.
the disciples inhaled, the sound of their inhalation filled to maximum capacity, plëroö, the temple.
Upon inhaling, the disciples were filled to maximum capacity, plëroö, for verse 4 says
that they were all filled, plëthö, and began to speak in other tongues (the overflowing,

If language allowed it, God could have taken the first four verses of
Acts 2 and having condensed them into one, because the new birth and the
manifestations must be as one thing. The filling of the apostles in verse 2
it is plëroö, the inherent filling of the new birth; the filling in verse 4 is plëthö, the
external manifestation or the overflow of inherent filling. The manifestations of
spirit is the overflowing power in the life of the believer, which in turn produces the 'fruit of

From Pentecost, the believers were to immediately overflow upon being reborn.
by the Spirit of God. They were not only to be filled to normal, natural capacity,
(plëroö), but they were also to overflow, (plëthö). The Apostle Peter is an example
of this.
Acts 4:8:
Then Peter, filled [plëthö] with the Holy Spirit [the gift of the Holy Spirit]...
Pedro was overflowing (as shown by the use of the word plëthö instead of
he operated all nine manifestations. Therefore, Peter was aware of
all the matters related in Acts 4 that are a continuation of what is related in Acts
3.

After documenting in verse 8 that Peter was full of the Holy Spirit, the

Juan.

Acts 8 contains the first account in the history of the Christian Church regarding new

Although the Samaritans had received the new birth, they had still not been
full to overflowing. The use of the phrase 'had not yet descended upon any of them'
it means, grammatically and biblically, that the spirit was not overflowing in
demonstration.
Acts 8:17
Then they laid their hands on them, and they received [lambanö, manifested]

In Acts 9, in the account of the young Saul (whose name in Greek is Paul), there is another
example in which the 'fullness of salvation' occurs before the 'overflow of the

Acts 9:17:
Then Ananias went in and entered the house, and laying his hands on him [Paul], said:

"you receive the vision and are filled [plëthö] with the Holy Spirit." Paul had been reborn (dechomai,
plëroö, filled to maximum capacity), but it was not until Ananias ministered to him that
was full with overflowing abundance (lambanö, plëthö). Pablo, however, soon
overflowed with the manifestations of the Spirit, for in 1 Corinthians 14:18 it is said of Paul:

Part Four
The Church of today
Since its foundation on Pentecost, the Church of Grace has been endowed with the
power of the Holy Spirit. However, the Church of the first century was a church that
It advanced, something we have not seen in our days. The Bible says that God does not change. If
God has not changed, so why is there this difference between the early Church and the
Church of the present? "The Church of the first century in the twentieth century" studies the Church of
principle so that we can apply its strengths to the Church of the 20th century and thrive
just like her.
An obvious weakness in the current church is the lack of unity. "Why is there division?"
examine this aspect of the modern church to see where we are limiting the power of
God for not having the same feeling.
The Church of Grace, over time, is made up of the members of the Body of
Christ. No building or denominational label qualifies as a church in the eyes of
God.
Only as those who have been called unite according to the accuracy of the Word of
God and mature fully by following the exact Word, we will be able to have hope of

Chapter Twelve
The Church of the first century in the twentieth century
The Church of the first century had immense power because Christians believed that by being saved
they received the power coming from the Holy Spirit, and therefore could operate the nine
manifestations of the spirit. In addition to having such internal power, the believers of the principle
they studied the Word of God and acted according to it, accepting it as the will of God.
The first-century church was a dynamic church, according to what is narrated in the Book of Acts.
We have never seen the Church move with such an anointing. Some say that
God has poured out a special anointing in these last times, but that simply
It is not true. The Word says that He sent His gift on the day of Pentecost. His gift is
Here. Obviously, the Church of the first century was more dynamic and overflowing with life, not
because God was more powerful, but because the believers who formed the Church operated
more effectively.
According to what is recounted in the Book of Acts and in the Ecclesiastical Epistles, the Church of
First, the Body of Christ developed a pattern for growth in its different
localities.
Each person was responsible for testifying boldly about the Word of God.
When a person accepted Jesus as their Lord, the 'older' Christians continued
nurturing and shepherding the new Christian until he was sufficiently
established to stand firm and walk by itself according to the given Word.
Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers faithfully visited each group, to
each church, and they maintained written communication with them.
4. Christians should not be diverted from their path by material goods: for what
they sold their unnecessary possessions to support the work of the ministry.
The Church of the beginning was born in the midst of a society that was so indoctrinated and
hardened like any other society in any other time. The Romans had the
government control and paganism reigned unchecked. However, the Church

...everyone... in Asia [what is now known as Asia Minor] Jews and Greeks, heard
the word of the Lord.
66
This feat certainly could not have been achieved, and was not achieved, by one man. But
under the ministry and teaching of Paul, the originals, 'about twelve men...,

with others. For example, when the area known as Asia heard this wonderful Word of
God, as it spread from Ephesus, each believer tried to win another and nurture them.
until that newly born Christian was strong enough to stand firm and
walk according to the Word of God, operating the manifestations of the spirit. All this is
achieved without modern aids such as radio, television, or printed materials.
John 1:40 contains one of the first accounts of a believer winning over a
friend. It is the story where Andrés first found his brother Pedro and brought him to the Lord.
Just like today, not everyone in the first century believed and were saved when a Christian
He testified to them. When you preach the Word of God and share it with a person or a
group, will discover that the response will be like in Acts 28:24: "And some agreed to the

The leaders of the Church from the beginning including Peter and the other apostles, were very
bold in the presentation of the Word of God; and because of their daring, a great number

women." However, as the account in Acts 5 says next, the high priest
And the Sadducees laid hands on the apostles and put them in prison. However, so
as soon as the Christians were taken out of there, God said to them: "Go, and stand up in the
temple, proclaim to the people all the words of this life,” so they returned to the temple to
to teach.
Soon the high priest came to the temple and called the Sanhedrin together to bring before

that they should not speak in the name of Jesus. However, the apostles persevered, for in
Acts 5:42 says: "And daily in the temple and in every house, they did not cease teaching and
to preach Jesus Christ.
67
Those from the synagogue could not stand them, just like in many places today, the
true believers in the Word of God are not tolerated in organized churches and
established. This made the second point of this study necessary, namely: small
supervised meetings, called churches, in the homes. I will inform you about the
writings that I have observed, so that you can read exactly what is written
in the Word of God in reference to such meetings.
In Acts 5 we read that the apostles went from house to house speaking to the people about
the Word of God. This is the first account that demonstrates how the apostles declared the
Word at the very beginnings of the Church Era, the era to which you and I
we belong.
Later, in Acts 8:3, we read that before being saved, Paul (whose name in Hebrew

"prison." It was necessary to enter the houses to find the Christians since they were their
meeting places.
In Acts 10, there is the first account concerning the house of a Gentile that goes through the
experience of the new birth and of reception in manifestation of power
coming from the Holy Spirit.
Acts 10:2 pious and fearful of God [Cornelius] with all his household...
This meeting, also in a house, was a characteristic of the Church in the first century.

that God had brought them out of prison. The jailer asked in Acts 16:30:
Gentlemen, what must I do to be saved?
Acts 16:31,32:
They said: Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.
And they spoke to him the word of the Lord and to all who were in his house.

Acts 21:8:
The next day, as Pablo and those of us who were with him were leaving, we went to Caesarea; and entering

Felipe's house had become a meeting place for believers. Also the
the place where Pablo lived in Rome became a meeting place for the dissemination and the
teaching of the Word of God in the early days of the Christian Church.
And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.
And having appointed a day, many came to him at the inn, to whom he...

That is the chronicle of the Church of the first century in the Book of Acts, which is the presentation
historical account of the founding and growth of the Christian Church.
Go to Romans 16:3 and 5: Paul wrote to the Romans telling them: "Greet Priscilla
and to Aquila... Greet also the church [the local Christian group] in their house...” 1 Corinthians
1:11 shows us another example of home meetings.
1 Corinthians 1:11:

The homes where the churches gathered were known as houses of God. These

Considering that these verses I have shared with you are what the Word says

There needs to be leadership in that group or church that meets in a home. The work of
Sir, it cannot be done randomly. I believe we could meet in homes, in groups of

So we could help believers in each particular area. Nobody would need

The demonstrations would be the greatest thing one could do for them. Remember,
It is the churches, the communion of believers, that interests us; nothing that man has
built will serve.
Regarding the elders or pastors for each group, let us see the example of Paul according to
It is reported in Acts 20. Paul gathers the elders of the church of Ephesus to admonish them.
Acts 20:28,29:
Therefore, take care of yourselves [which is the first requirement of any leader], and for
the whole flock in which the Holy Spirit has made you bishops, to shepherd the
church of the Lord, which he gained by his own blood.
For I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you,
that they will not forgive the flock.

The elders were the pastors of the local units, sometimes called bishops. This

the church, the communion of believers.

Acts 20:30:
And from among yourselves men will rise up speaking perverse things to
to drag the disciples behind him.
In other words, Satan would deceive some of the supervisors themselves. There would be
divisions in the churches that are held in homes because people were full of
pride and wanted to lead the disciples after themselves and not after the Word of God. For
therefore, strong and precise leadership was essential.
And this leadership was not determined by chance. The supervisor was chosen by a man of God.
who was guided by the Holy Spirit.
Titus 1:5:
For this reason, I left you in Crete, to correct what was deficient and to establish
elders in every city, as I commanded you.
1 Peter 5:2
Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint,
voluntarily; not for dishonest gain, but with a willing spirit,
not as having dominion over those entrusted to you, but being examples
of the grey.
Now, regarding the visits made by the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors
and teachers, the Book of Acts constantly recounts the times when Paul began
believer communions in various places and then returned to visit them. We also see
other men --Timothy, Titus, Silas, and others-- visiting churches, communions of
believers. By studying the missionary journeys we can see that Derbe, Caesarea, Antioch of
Pisidia, Tarso, Iconio, Pessino, Éfeso, Troas, Neápolis, Filipo, Anfípolis, Apolonia,
Thessalonica, Berea, Athens, and Corinth were among the places that were visited again.
In Acts 20 we have the account of when Paul returned to visit the Ephesians and sent to
call the elders of the church to meet in Miletus. The reason why there was
elders (plural) in the church is that there were many houses where people gathered and
Each house was supervised by an elder. In the following verse, Paul is addressing
to the elders in Ephesus.

The Apostle Paul not only went from house to house teaching the wonderful Word of God,
but he also wrote letters to the dispersed churches, to the communion meetings

instruction and growth. We can realize that 1 and 2 Timothy specify the
complete procedure and behavior for leaders in relation to the Church. We must
read these letters carefully because in them we find the truth we need
to know how to manifest accurately the greatness of the Word of God.
The fourth point that explains the dynamism of the early Church was that Christians
They gave all the material goods they did not need to promote the Christian ministry.
But before examining this specific point, let's look at the background in Acts 4 to
see the other growth elements that developed before Christians
they will renounce excessive material possessions.
According to Acts 4, Peter and John had just ministered healing to a man of
more than forty years of age, a work for which they were imprisoned and intimated that neither
At least they would speak or teach in the name of Jesus.
However, barely free from jail, Peter and John began to preach again.
Acts 4:29:
And now, Lord, look at their threats [from the leaders of the synagogue], and grant to your
servants who speak your word with all boldness.
Isn't that a wonderful prayer? This is the first account of a prayer for the Church.
from the first century. The apostles had been imprisoned, humiliated, wounded, and threatened
for their teaching and for the way they ministered healing. However, when Peter
and Juan returned with the group of believers--instead of asking for a vacation, instead of
ask for a place where it would be easier to serve--they prayed: "Lord, look at their threats and
grant to your servants that with all boldness they may speak your word." It was the speaking of the Word that
that from the beginning put them in a bind, but only their perseverance would make them
to progress in their mission.
The Church of the beginning always preached the Word of God and nothing but the Word of
God--not personal opinions. They spoke only the Word with boldness; and often,
when they spoke the Word, they got into trouble; the question now is: are we
teaching the Word?
It may be that when we truly present the Word of God and walk in the light of the
Word of God, let us receive persecution here and there. But this should not
to dissuade us. We should simply say: 'Well, if Satan is trying so hard
to obstruct our efforts, it must be that we are doing something worthwhile. If
our goals would have no value, surely Satan would not bother to
to interfere. He fights because we are giving him battle.
Acts 4:18 and calling them, they commanded them not to speak at all or teach in the name of
Jesus.
72
Notice that the disciples prayed: '... grant your servants... ' These men were sons of
God in His celestial relationship; but in their earthly responsibilities, they were there to
to serve God, and therefore they were called servants.
Acts 4:31,32
When they had prayed, the place where they were assembled shook; and all were
filled with the Holy Spirit, and spoke boldly the Word of God.
And the multitude [The text is 'each one of them'] of those who had believed was of a
heart and soul; and neither claimed to own anything that they possessed, but rather
They had everything in common.
Imagine this in the early Church! All the people reborn of the Spirit of
God and filled with the power of the Holy Spirit were of one heart and one soul. They had the
Word and they agreed on the Word. This is what gave power to the Church of
principle.
By studying 'they had all things in common' we see that according to the critical texts
Greeks, the word used for 'common' in verse 32 means: 'in order that in their
beliefs and their actions were commonly united." None of the things--the
pluralities--that a person possessed were really their own. The plurality of what
possession was common in terms of need.
When the early Church began to move, the plurality of each member was
common among them. If a member had a need, the plurality was used to provide
what was needed.
Acts 4:33-35:
And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and
abundant grace [divine favor] was upon all of them.
So there was no needy person among them; for all who owned
heredities [plural] or houses [plural], they were sold, and they brought the price of what was sold,
and they laid it at the apostles' feet; and it was distributed to each according to their need.
Notice that the last word in Acts 4:35 is not 'greed', but 'need'. There was
people in the Church who had more than they needed in terms of food, clothing
and housing. Therefore, they sold their pluralities—those that they did not need—for
help someone else in the Church who had a need. Let's suppose that in the Church
there was a young couple who were devoted to the Lord, who loved the Word of
God and they wanted to start cultivating a piece of land; they had a need. The Church
had to help the couple to start.
Carefully note the words 'all those who possessed' in verse 34. What
What did these people who owned inheritances and houses do when they were reborn?
They sold their pluralities. They sold what they did not need. Plurality is
73
greed is not necessity. If we want the Church to advance under the anointing of power
of the Holy Spirit as the Church advanced from the beginning, we must be obedient to the
Word of God and overcome, defeat our greed. Excess weight burdens us, and the
Christians should not get stuck on the things of this world.
God never asked a man, anywhere in the Bible, to sell or get rid of
of what he needed for his subsistence. They sold what they didn't need,
their pluralities, and the money was brought to the apostles who distributed it accordingly
to the needs of each believer in particular. The needs of a person can be
more than those of another. Each one must determine within themselves their need, according to
to the renewal of your own mind once you have been reborn.
You may ask: "Well, who do we trust the collected possessions to?"
Who did the Church of the beginning trust? To the apostles. If you as a Christian do not
trust that the person or group or organization will use your donation appropriately,
You should give it to someone else, to something or someone you trust will use it as it
It is supposed to be used. The apostles distributed the goods.
Acts 4:36,37:
Then Joseph, whom the apostles called Barnabas (that
translated is, Son of consolation), Levite, native of Cyprus,
Since he had a property [singular], he sold it and brought the price and laid it at the feet of the
apostles.
We have just read that the first Christians only sold their properties. However,
Here is a man who sold his land, a unique asset. Why? Because he was a Levite.
According to the Old Testament, a Levite could not own any property.
This Joseph, whose surname was Barnabas, of Cyprus, understanding and believing what was taught,
was converted and made safe. Therefore, he sold his only property (which he should never have done
having possessed) and brought the money and deposited it at the feet of the apostles.
Thus, we have in a few words an idea of how the Church of the first century operated and
prospered to the point that many were won for the Lord Jesus Christ and manifested their
power. Again and again we see these principles:
Each person was responsible for testifying boldly about the Word of
God and then support those new born-again Christians until they could
to walk and at the same time testify by themselves.
2. The Church prospered when small groups (churches, communion meetings) were

3. The apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors, and the teachers

4. Christians contributed to the well-being of the Church and its members by giving
for common needs, contributing the pluralities of their goods
materials.
Upon reading Acts and the Pauline Epistles, we quickly realize the growth.

of the twentieth century is unmatched in its vitality. Therefore, we have everything to gain if
we follow the example of the early Church. God has not changed. And as still
We have Your power, we can certainly adapt the techniques of the Church from the beginning.
We are the ones who have to apply these principles and this power and the determination of
the apostles to make the Church of the twentieth century stronger and more vital than it has been
never the Christian Church. This is our opportunity and our challenge.
Chapter Thirteen
Why is there division?
In one way or another, in our way of thinking, many of us have incorrectly embraced the
the idea that when God moves, peace and tranquility prevail. This concept was
expressed concisely in a radio broadcast when a minister explained it this way:
The fourteenth chapter of Acts tells us about a movement of God. It took place in Iconium.
and the evangelists were Paul and Barnabas. What happened was not just an isolated case; such
events seemed to have been the norm wherever Paul and Barnabas preached. At
arriving at Iconium from Antioch in Pisidia, they witnessed the same kind of confusion that
it had happened in other places.
Acts 14:1:
It happened in Iconium that they entered together into the synagogue of the Jews, and spoke of such
so that a great multitude of Jews believed, and also of Greeks.
75
There were a large number of Jews and Gentiles who turned to God, but not everything was
sweetness and light.
Acts 14:2:
But the Jews who did not believe stirred up and corrupted the minds of the Gentiles.
against the brothers.
Did the attitude of the unbelievers prevent Paul and Barnabas from continuing to minister?
no way.
Acts 14:3
Therefore, they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly, confident in the
Lord, who bore witness to the word of his grace, granting that it be done
through their hands signs and wonders.
How could they stop preaching when God continued to perform great signs and wonders?
under his ministry? But despite these wonders of grace, there were those who did not
they wanted to believe.
Acts 14:4:
And the people of the city were divided: some were with the Jews, and others with the
apostles.
Here there was division and confusion. Not only a home or a church was divided, but a
entire city. The tension did not decrease, but rather worsened.
Acts 14:5:
...the Jews and the Gentiles, along with their rulers, conspired to insult them and
to stone them.
Some will say: "Surely if this were from God, all this would not have happened." Without
embargo that is what happened and what still happens when the truth is taught. The
powers of darkness, although religiously adorned, will fight. Evil always has
to be exposed and destroyed whenever and wherever a awakening happens

It was not the disturbances, but the signs and wonders that accompanied Paul and
Bernabé those who testified to the fact that God had called them and that they in
Indeed, they were carrying out the movement of God. The signs follow those sent by
the Lord. They speak in new tongues. They cast out demons in his name. When

God "there is no change, nor shadow of variation." He responds to the needs
constantly.
76
These saints of God, Paul and Barnabas, hardly escaped from Iconium with their lives, but
they continued to Lystra and Derbe. In Lystra, the people wanted to make gods of Paul and Barnabas,
and they could barely restrain the priest of Jupiter from offering them sacrifices. But
Pablo and his companion did not allow any of these activities. They intervened.
among these idolaters and managed to halt the entire procedure. In fact, Paul and Barnabas
they achieved it so successfully that the tide turned against them and in a short time
people attacked and stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city thinking he was
dead.
Leaders of spiritual movements in the Church have always been ridiculed and
slandered. The element of confusion in the whole situation is that it is the religious people,
those who are profoundly sincere, those who cause division. The world seems
show little initial interest regarding a movement of God and practically do not
pay the least attention. As Acts 7 points out, it is the religious element who
they are the pursuers and those who resist.
Acts 7:51,52:
Stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the
Holy Spirit; as your parents, so also you.
Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who...
they announced in advance the coming of the Just One, of whom you have now been
deliverers and killers.
The Pharisees did not want to accept Jesus as the Christ. The Jews incited the
crowd against Paul and Barnabas. The religious people of the time stoned Stephen.
Division always frustrates Christian efforts.
May God deliver us, the Church, from being contentious and difficult, from slandering
our brothers, for quarreling and fighting, for dividing the Body of Christ because of our lack of
clear understanding. There is too much division outside the Church; our solidarity is
imperative for him to give us strength to move forward despite the opposition. May the Father in the
heaven, for the love of the only Son, bless us with such abundance that we cease to be part
of the problem and become part of the solution. That we as members of the Body
of Christ may we be so filled with love that we are docile to learn and have our
open hearts to His Holy Word. And that we receive from Him and carry that blessing to
everyone we find, so that they see us and know that we are Yours.

The Supreme Calling
A Study of Philippians 3
Philippians 3:1:
Finally, brothers, rejoice in the Lord. To me it is not troublesome [annoying]...
to write the same things to you, and for you it is safe [gives certainty, reinforces].
What "same things"? The things I had already told them through their
collaborator Epaphroditus.
Philippians 3:2:
Beware of dogs*, beware of evil workers [those with bad intentions
Beware of the mutilators of the body.
Verse 3
For we are the circumcision, who serve God in spirit and rejoice in Christ Jesus.
We glory in Christ Jesus, having no confidence in the flesh.
"Those of us who worship God through the spirit" does not mean that we worship through
Contributions to the collection plate. There is only one way we can worship,
serve God "in spirit", and that is through speaking in tongues. To worship in the
spirit, a person has to have spirit; any other rite is part of the world of the
senses. We cannot worship God through the senses because He "does not dwell in
temples made by human hands.

"Dogs" is the literary figure hypocatastasis. Its use here means "murmurers".
Acts 17:24 "The God who made the world and all things in it, being Lord of heaven and of the
earth, does not dwell in temples made by human hands.

As John 4:24 emphatically states, 'God is Spirit; and those who worship Him, must worship in spirit and truth.'
"spirit and in truth is necessary that they worship." To worship him in spirit can only be
through speaking in tongues. If the Word means what it says and says what it means.

interest in our being.
We are the circumcision, the chosen ones, who worship by the Spirit.
We can boast in Christ Jesus because there was a moment when we experienced joy
in Christ Jesus. Glorying in Christ Jesus is possible only through the
renewal of the mind and focusing on spiritual matters, trusting in the spiritual
instead of trusting or having confidence in the flesh. We do not let ourselves be guided by what others
senses promote; we remain in the Word and in the revelation of the spirit.

What things were personal gain for Paul? He just listed seven of them in the
verses five and six.

Verse 10:
to know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the participation of his

"To know" means: "to know through personal spiritual experience" which is
possible only for those who are just. "In order to know Him by experience as my
Savior and the inherent power [the dunamis] of his resurrection.
And the participation refers to baptism in Christ Jesus. This means that we were
buried with him, and raised from the dead, to now walk fully in this

buried, we were buried with him; when he resurrected, we resurrected with him.

In order to know him [by experience as my savior] and the [inherent] power [the dunamis]
of his resurrection, and the participation [of his death, his burial, his resurrection] of his
sufferings, thus we are similar to him as he was in his
death.
Verse 11:
If in some way I might attain to the resurrection of the dead.
The preposition 'a' is the Greek word eis which is always used with the accusative case. In the
mathematics this word eis, "to" from verse 11, is the movement towards an object with the
intention of reaching the object. That is its literal use: "If in any way it were to come towards the
objective with the intention of achieving it.
The translated word 'resurrection' is the Greek word exanastasis which means
"resurrection outward." Here Paul is not interested in the resurrections of the
just and unjust as mentioned in Revelation 20:5 and 13; he is interested in a
resurrection outward. 1 Thessalonians 4:16 and 17 speak of that 'resurrection outward.
... and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive,

those of us who remain will be taken away... Paul did not want to die; he wanted to be
changed through the 'resurrection outward'. This 'resurrection outward' or
exanastasis should be translated literally as "out of among". "If in any way I reached"
towards the coming of the Lord.
Verse 12
Not that I have already attained it [Paul had not yet reached that 'resurrection towards
outside."], nor that it is already perfect; but that I continue on, to see if I can grasp [reach]
that for which I was also apprehended by Christ Jesus.
He was appointed by Christ Jesus to live this life, to carry out the ministry, to
to believe, to know that he was crucified with Jesus, to know that he was raised with him.
Verse 13:
Brothers, I myself do not intend to have already attained it; but one thing I do:
forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what is ahead.
Pablo says that he is forgetting his background: Hebrew of Hebrews, his education at the
feet of Gamaliel, and other reasons worthy of earthly acclaim. Now Paul is
extending to those things that are in front. If we only did this--forgetting about
we would benefit.
Verse 14: I press on toward the goal [the finish line], for the prize of the upward call of
God in Christ Jesus.
Verse 15:
So, all of us who are perfect, let us feel this same thing; and if you feel something else, this
God will also reveal it to you.
The word 'perfects' means 'the initiated', those who have been brought to
knowledge of the deep secrets of the great mystery, that mystery which was kept
in secret since the foundation of the world and which was made manifest for the first time to the
Apostle Paul as it says in Ephesians 3:3. Here Paul is speaking to those who

Verse 18:

Now I say it crying, that [those who walk like this] are enemies of the cross of Christ.
The brothers in Christ must be examples, not counterfeits. The people in verse 18
they seemed sincere and religious, however the Word says that they were enemies of the cross of
Christ because they were not walking according to the revealed Word, with the same feeling.
Verse 19:

all. The enemies of the cross make gods of themselves, "whose glory is their shame;"
that only think about earthly matters." Earthly things are the things of the flesh, the things of
the senses. They obey the things of the senses, trust in the flesh instead of in
the things of the Word of God.
Verse 20:
But our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also await the Savior, the
Lord Jesus Christ.
Do we pray for the Lord to return? No, we only wait for the Savior; we do not.
We can influence his return. Man had nothing to do with the first coming of
Christ, for the Bible says in Galatians 4:4: "But when the fullness of time came,
God sent his only Son... Likewise, when he comes again...
the fulfillment of time, Acts 1:11 reveals that '... This same Jesus, who has been
taken from you to heaven, so he will come back in the same way you have seen him go...” Everything we do is
to wait with great expectations for this 'resurrection outward.' 'We await the Savior,
to [who is the] Lord Jesus Christ.
What then is the teaching that we must build the kingdom of God on the
earth, shall we bring Utopia to this world? The Bible says that the earth will become
progressively worse. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only one who will rescue the world from
confusion that man has created. We must focus all our attention on the
Lord Jesus Christ, waiting for you.
Verse 21:
which will transform our body of humiliation, so that it may be like the
body of his glory, by the power [the ability] with which he can also subdue
to himself all things.
83
Our physical bodies carry written upon them the nature of death; that is why
Philippians 3:21 calls them 'humiliation'. Our bodies prone to death will be
facts "similar to the body of his glory." Who will transform our body into one
similar to the body of his glory
"which can also hold all things to itself." When we have a body
similar to the body of his glory, then we will know as we were known.
Meanwhile, we boast and rejoice in him because we have the certainty of his
presence and power within us.
Chapter Fifteen
The Joy and the Crown of the Christian
Study of Philippians 4
Philippians 4:1:
Therefore, my beloved and longed-for brothers, my joy and crown, stand fast in the
Sir, beloved.
The first two words in Philippians 4 indicate that there is something before this statement.
"So" is a conjunction, and in order to understand what "so" concludes,
we have to go back two verses.
Philippians 3:20,21: Our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
But our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also await the Savior, the
Lord Jesus Christ;
According to this first verse of Philippians 4, who are the joy and the crown of
Apostle Paul? Those whom he taught the Word of God. Paul told those to whom he
who were saved under his ministry: 'You are my joy and my crown; stand firm'. In
twice calls those he has taught 'beloved'. It is clear that Paul he
he/she has a great affection for these people.
84
In 1 Thessalonians, Paul again emphasizes that his brothers in Christ -- those who
they had become brothers through their ministry-- they were their joy and their crown.
1 Tesalonicenses 2:19,20:
For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of which to glory? Are you not it?
you, before our Lord Jesus Christ, at his coming?
You are our glory and joy.
With the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, those whom Paul had taught, those who
they were their hope, their joy, and their crown, they will appear before the Father, "... you are.
before our Lord Jesus Christ, at his coming.
The words 'stand firm' used in Philippians 4:1 in the phrase 'stand firm in'
the Lord, beloved" is the same use as in Philippians 1:27: "... that you are standing firm in a
same spirit, fighting unanimously for the faith [the faith of family]*, of the gospel.
"Stand firm" literally means "remain strong". When we are firm and
together we are strong. If I am strong in the Lord and you are strong in the Lord, together
we will advance. The ministry of the Apostle Paul, as recorded in Acts 19, is a
example of people who stood firm in the Lord and therefore produced fruit.
Acts 19 says that Paul took those strong in faith and discussed the Word of God in
the school of Tyrannus. In two years all of Asia Minor had heard about the Lord Jesus.
It was simply miraculous how the Word of God was spread all over the earth. Without
Notice that in 2 Timothy 1:15 it says that all of Asia abandoned Paul.

The Word says that all Asia heard the Word of the Lord Jesus; however, later on,
All of Asia had left Paul. This reminds one of the Lord Jesus Christ who had

When the moment approached for him to be crucified, everyone fled and the rabble

only when we as believers stand firm in the Lord.
Philippians 4:2:
I urge Euodia and Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord.

The "common" faith of Titus 1:4 and the household of faith of Galatians 6:10 make up the faith "of the family" because the
Christianity is a family matter: it is the Father with His family, with His children; God is our Father,
we are Your children.

a different feeling; therefore, they could not be strong in the Lord. If we are going to be steadfast
In the Lord, we cannot have two opinions regarding the truth. There can be two
opinions regarding the facts, but not regarding the truth. At the moment
that as soon as we begin to have an opinion about the truth we are already wrong. The truth is the
truth; it is 'thus says the Lord'. It doesn't matter what we think. The reason why they have
opinions is that it is not "used well," it is not divided correctly, the Word. If it is divided
correctly the Word of God, then we have the true Word; when it is divided
incorrectly, we have an error. When we incorrectly divide the Word we are
working for Satan. Whenever the Word of God is properly divided,
It means: 'Thus says the Lord'.
Pablo implored Evodia and Syntyche, saying: 'If you want to stand firm in the
Sir, you all have to be of one mind. One cannot be pulling in one direction and...
the other on the other side, and to be firm in the Lord. Philippians 2:2 corroborates the
truth that firmness is achieved by being unanimous: 'make my joy complete, by feeling that

It was complete when everyone walked with the same feeling. Having the same feeling is to be
unanimous, to have a unity of purpose.
Philippians 4:3:
I also urge you, true companion, to help these women who have contended
together with me in the gospel, with Clement also and the other collaborators
mine, whose names are in the book of life.
When the Word says: "whose names are in the book of life", the book of life
it means a living and spiritual record of events that belongs to God. This is not a book
in the literal sense, but rather a literary figure. Our parents did not need a
notebook in which to write our names to know that they belonged to us; nor did
we need a notebook to keep a record of the names and works of our
children. The record is simply living. In the same way, we are in the mind of God.
The Word says that He knew us before the foundation of the world. God knew
who would believe in His son and consequently be part of His family.
Verse 4:
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say: Rejoice!

Verse 5:

the Word. "Known" here is: "to know by having learned or experienced".
"Your kindness should be known to all men" does not fit with the Word. Why has it

"The Lord is near" means "the Lord is always near." This statement has no
nothing to do with the second coming. It simply exhorts believers by reminding us
that we have Christ in us. He watches over us, so let us keep that in mind. The
verse 5 says: "Learn by experience patience with all men because

special) before God in every prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving.
Verse 6 begins with the phrase 'Do not be anxious about anything.' These words are not very
clear in the sense that a modern reader could understand. The word 'afanosos'
here means "anxious". Literally the statement means "Do not be filled with
anxiety regarding nothing". We must be diligent when it comes to the Word of God,
but we should not worry or be anxious because Christ is in us.
The key regarding "prayer and supplication" is to be specific about the needs and
personal wishes. Specifically, declare your needs before God with
thanksgiving
Verse 7:

your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Wonderful is this verse? There are two points highlighted in this verse: one is

Pablo said that he was not complaining about his own needs because he had
learned, whatever their situation, to be self-sufficient, not to 'settle' like
says the Reina Valera Version. Literally the text says: "I have learned that I am
self-sufficient no matter what my situation is." "Christ in you" makes you self
sufficient. According to the Word of God, do you lack anything? The Word says:
you are complete in him. If we are complete, we are complete; nothing can us
may be missing. Therefore, in every situation we are more than conquerors, we are
self-sufficient because we are complete in Him.
Verse 12:
I know how to live humbly, and I know how to have abundance; in everything and in all things I have learned this.
to be full as to be hungry, just as to have abundance as to
to suffer need.
Colossians 2:10: "And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power."
88
Even when Paul had very little, he remained self-sufficient. 'In everything and for everything
I am taught, both to be full and to be hungry, both to have abundance
as to suffer need.
The meaning of 'taught' in the text is: 'to be initiated into the secret', the secret of how
be self-sufficient or adequate whether we have abundance or not--"in the
good or in bad times." Pablo had been "initiated into the secret" of how to live.
Some remain impoverished because they have never been initiated into the secret. If they had
sometimes abundance, they wouldn’t know what to do with it. We could paraphrase the statement.
de Pablo this way: "I have been initiated into the secret. When it comes to having
physical or material needs, I move forward; when I have an abundance of things.
materials, I also move forward. In every situation, I am self-sufficient.
Pablo was talking about how to live in abundance, and how to live in scarcity; in
In either of the two situations, we are self-sufficient. Why are we self-sufficient?
For we have strength through Christ who strengthens us.
Many people use this writing in relation to quitting smoking, quitting drinking, or
any other unbeneficial habit. This verse has nothing to do with such things.
It specifically deals with having or not having sufficiency in material things.
Verse 14:
However, you did well to participate with me in my tribulation.
Verse 15:
And you also know, oh Philippians, that at the beginning of the preaching of
gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church participated with me in the matter of
give and receive, unless you alone;
Verse 16:
For even to Thessalonica you sent once and again [twice] for my needs.
Verse 17:
It is not that I seek gifts, but that I seek fruit that may abound in your account.
89
Pablo was not seeking gifts from the Philippians since he was not asking them for things.
materials; but he desired fruit that would abound in their account. Every time these
people participated in the needs of the Apostle Paul, whenever they contributed to
to meet their material needs, God credited good works to their accounts.
Verse 18:
But I have received everything, and I have abundance; I am full, having received from
Epaphroditus, what you sent; a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.
The only thing they did was participate in the needs of the Apostle Paul, and Paul
He taught that this was pleasing and acceptable to God, and that it was credited to their accounts.
Their acts of generosity had nothing to do with their salvation; their good
deeds were credited to the account of their progress and rewards.
Verse 19:
My God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ.
Jesus.
You will understand this verse in context: 'God will supply all that you lack.'
it literally refers to material things, not spiritual matters. The Philippians
they had given of their material things to the Apostle Paul, they ministered to his needs.
Pablo is saying: 'Now that you have shared with me, God will supply you.'
everything you need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Once again we see the evidence of the law of giving and receiving. This law works with all
accuracy. God will supply all that you lack of material needs 'according to His
riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Due to His foreknowledge He knows our needs
before we ask him.

Verse 22:
All the saints greet you, especially those of the household of Caesar.
It is interesting to observe that the Word of God at least touched the high circles of
government in the early days. Here it tells us that the gospel had entered the house
of Caesar.
Verse 23:
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
As Christians we should 'stand firm in the Lord' in our daily walk, for
while we walk we have the joy and peace that exist in the 'same feeling', and we have the
physical and material blessings required for life in abundance now. Yes, we have
in all things all that is sufficient,

Chapter Sixteen
The Response Study of 1 John
The Church of Grace was founded on the day of Pentecost, and with its foundation began a
new administration. Juan directed his first epistle to those newborns to the
communion of believers to inform them about their position, their rights and their
responsibilities before God. When the words "from the beginning" are used in the first
verse, does not refer to 'in the beginning' as in Genesis 1:1. 'The beginning' appears
nine times in this epistle; eight times it refers to the beginning of this administration, the
period of the Church of Grace; the ninth time refers to the time of the beginning when it was
found iniquity in the Devil.
1 John 1:1
What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes,
what we have contemplated, and our hands have touched concerning the Word [logos, the
Word of life.
Hearing, seeing, and touching are all part of the realm of the five senses. The natural man

through which to acquire knowledge.
Verse 2:

eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested to us.
Juan is informing people that he is going to unveil his revelation regarding this.
Word of life.
91
Verse 3:
what we have seen and heard, we announce to you, so that you also may have
fellowship with us; and our fellowship is truly with the Father, and with His
Son Jesus Christ.
Verse 4:
We write these things to you so that your joy may be complete.
Joy is also a fruit of the Spirit as mentioned in Galatians 5:22 where it says:
But the fruit of the Spirit is... joy...
A person can find happiness in the material things that surround them; they may...
abundance of things makes you happy. But joy is something internal. Joy is a quality
spiritual. The revelation in 1 John is written so that the reborn believer does not only have
joy in its interior, but also the joy of its renewed mind be fulfilled,
complete.
Verse 5
This is the message we have heard from him, and we announce to you: God is light, and there is no
no darkness in it.
If God is light, then there can be no darkness in Him. Everything negative, bad,
harmful, sinful and that causes death must come from another source, not from the
true God of light.
Verse 6:
If we say we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness, we lie and do not
we practice the truth.
After a person becomes a child in the house of God, they can have communion.
in the family while continuing to use the Word as their guidebook. If as children
we say that we have communion with God and yet we do not follow the rules and
we walk impiously, we lie. When we step outside the precepts, we are outside
of communion, but we are still children in the family. We have to pay attention
clearly in the difference between communion and filiation. "Walking in darkness" not
it affects the relationship between father and son; it breaks the communion.
Verse 7:
but if we walk in the light, as he [God] is in the light, we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.
92
Walking in light gives us communion with God. When we are out of communion, we walk
in darkness, which is a sin, for every broken communion is sin. However, when
we confess our broken communion, the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us, makes us without stain.
"The blood" is a literary figure that refers to the fact that Jesus Christ gave his life. It is
the metalepsis figure that includes synecdoche. The figure of synecdoche makes 'blood'
represents 'spilling of blood' and indicates the death of Jesus Christ and not his life. Then
goes beyond the act of his death, indicating the merits that he achieved for us, the
which he accomplished through his death and therefore are logically associated with it. The
the word "clean" indicates a complete and total washing, leaving no imperfections or
impurity.
Verses 8-10:
If we say we have no sin [broken communion], we deceive ourselves.
the same, and the truth is not within us.
If we say that we have not sinned [broken communion], we make him [God] a liar, and
His word [of God] is not in us [in our minds].
No one can live in communion with God if they live according to any other principle than
Do not stray from the Word of God. When we walk down other paths, we sin, which is
injustice. If we confess our sins to God when we are out of communion, God
He is faithful to His promise to provide legal justice. God is able to absolve us of all
broken communion, sin of which all children are guilty.
My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.
My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin [that you may not break communion]; and
[but] if anyone has sinned [broken communion], we have an advocate [a defense attorney]
we have with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
And he [Jesus Christ] is the propitiation [the payment] for our sins [broken communion]; and
not only for ours, but also for those of the whole world.
Jesus Christ is the propitiation for our sins, which means that he not only paid for
they but also, when we break communion, brings us back to enjoy the
favor of God. Our confession of sin produces the forgiveness of our broken communion.
God can remit our sin only once and that is at the moment of the
salvation. The remission of sins is for the sinner who is not saved; the forgiveness of sin
it is for the sinner saved who is out of communion with God.
Verse 3:
And in this we know that we know him [God], if we keep his commandments.

Verse 4:
The [man] who says: I know Him [God, for being personally familiar]
who does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
the man
If a person is not born again, the truth is not within them spiritually. But if a believer
the reborn says that he knows God intimately and does not observe the commandment to walk in the
light, the truth of the Word is not in that man's mind. The truth remains in the
spiritual being of the believer, but that person has not put the truth in their mind.
Verse5
but whoever keeps His word, truly in this man the love
God has been perfected; for this we know that we are in him [God through
Jesus Christ.
Keeping the Word of God is living according to His will. We are the ones who
we keep His Word, and by keeping it, the love of God is perfected in us. The
love, agape in Greek, is received with spiritual birth. "The agape love of God" is
it is manifested externally when we walk in the light. What makes communion possible
It is perfect to have the spirit of God in us and also to walk in His love.
Verse 6:
The [the man] who says he remains in him [God through Christ Jesus], must
walk as he [Jesus Christ] walked.
Anyone who says they remain or are continuously in the presence of God, has
to have a renewed mind according to the Word and to walk with this renewed mind like
Jesus Christ did it. Because he has free will, the born-again believer can choose to live.
according to this world; but, to be in communion, a believer has to decide to renew
his mind and act according to the Word of God.
Verse7
Brothers, I am not writing you a new command, but an old command that
you have had from the beginning; this old command is the word that you have
heard from the beginning.
However, I write to you a new commandment, that [the total process of word and
work is true in him [God] and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the
the true light now shines.
94
A new precept is now given. All of God's transaction was made genuine and applicable,
and therefore can be, and is, manifested in the world of the senses. The darkness
they belong to the past because God in Christ in us is light. However, others do not.
They can see this light unless we manifest it, show it with our walk.
Verse 9:
He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness.
To hate is only possible when someone is born of the seed of the Devil, of the
the same way that agape love is possible only when one is born of the
seed of God. The two Greek words for 'to hate', misos and stugos, just like
all their derivatives must be understood according to their use in context. They can
to mean 'antipathy' or 'antipathy that results in the absolute hatred of the Devil.' This hatred, it
the opposite of agapë, is a spiritual quality that a person receives when born of the
seed of the serpent.
But the one who hates [has antipathy towards] his brother is in darkness and walks in
darkness, and does not know where it is going, because darkness has blinded its eyes.
If we keep our minds renewed according to the Word of God, the love of God will
perfects in our minds, and we give no opportunity to the flesh to
to underestimate or have a dislike for a brother in Christ. He who has a dislike for him or
he despises his brother has not renewed his mind according to the Word of God. Satan tries
constantly dissuading us from walking in the truth of the light and thus makes us walk in
darkness. To remain steadfast in the light, a believer must have knowledge of the
Word of God. Without that knowledge, the believer is uprooted and easily led to
the darkness due to ignorance.
Verse 12
I write to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven for his
name [of God].
A person cannot be a child of God until they are reborn from the seed of God,
The sin of a man, broken communion, is forgiven for the sake of the name of God,
because man is in the family of God. Literally, all sins were
loaded onto Jesus Christ when he made his sacrifice.
Verses 13,14:

little children, because you have known the Father.

according to that Word. This is the only way to overcome the evil one.

Now many antichrists have arisen; therefore we know that it is the last time.
Any person born of the serpent is called 'antichrist' because they are in
opposition to Christ.
Verse 19:
They went out from us, but they were not of us, for if they had been of us,
they would have remained with us; but they went out so that it could be made manifest that they were not.

The antichrists, those born into the family of the Devil, wanted to separate themselves from
the believers, those born into the family of the true God.

I have not written to you as if you were ignorant of the truth, but because you know it, and because
no lie comes from the truth.
Who is the liar, if not the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the
who denies the Father and the Son.
Anyone who denies the Son does not have the Father either. He who confesses the Son has

What you have heard from the beginning, remains in you [in your minds]. If
what you have heard from the beginning remains in you [in your minds],
you also will remain [walking] in the Son and in the Father.
Verse25-27
And this is the promise that he [God] made to us, eternal life.
I have written this to you about those who deceive you [make you doubt].
But the anointing [the new birth] that you received from him remains in
you, and you do not need anyone to teach you; just as the anointing

The anointing we have from God is the anointing of the Holy Spirit. It is to receive the fullness of the gift.

We will not be ashamed nor will we feel dishonorable. On the contrary, we will have confidence.
Verse 29:
If you know that He [God] is just, know also that everyone who does justice is born
of him [God].
97
"Hacer" is the key word. It means to practice a skill just like a surgeon, or a
professional painter or musician. We must practice in the world of the senses what we have
received in the spirit. We are just because God made us just; but our justice is

1 John 3:1

The world will never understand that we are 'children of God'. Salvation is a work.

the things that are of the Spirit of God, because they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them,
because spiritual matters must be discerned spiritually.

because we will see him as he is.

Verse 4 is parenthetical and refers to Christ. Then in verse 5 we return to
theme: God. To be like him (Christ) is to be like he will be in his resurrected body in his
return. When Christ returns, we will be like him because we are joint heirs with
Christ and children of the same Father.
Verse 3:
And everyone who has this hope [the return of Christ] in him purifies himself
same, just as he [Christ] is pure.
We have hope for the second coming of Christ. Therefore, we who ...
we have this hope we must purify ourselves through renewal of the
minds. Personally, we should purify our minds just as our spirits are
pure ones, the gift coming from God.
Verse 4:
Everyone who commits sin also transgresses the law; for sin is transgression.
of the law.
The phrase "infringement of the law" is the Greek word anomia, "without law." One who practices
illegalities, and therefore does not observe the law, is an offender. To comply with the law, the
man must follow the instructions given in Galatians 6:2 where it says: "Bear one another's burdens"
bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

remaining in the believer (salvation). A believer sins and breaks communion with God,
not in the spiritual life that he received when he was reborn, because that life is perfect and not
One can sin. If one has a perfectly renewed mind, one does not sin and does not break communion.
Verse 7:
Little children, let no one deceive you; he who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.
Christ in you is just.
No one can do justice until he himself is just. Justice is God's and therefore
so much is included in the gift, spirit. Justice is God in Christ within oneself, what
makes it possible to manifest justice externally.
Verse 8
Whoever practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. For
This appeared the Son of God, to undo the works of the devil.
Every sin is due to the influence of Satan on the person who commits the sin.
Jesus Christ appeared to undo the power of Satan. In his first coming, he defeated the

Verse 10:
In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: whoever does not do
justice, and he who does not love his brother is not of God.
Notice how marked the difference is between the spiritual seeds. The children follow the
pattern of their respective parents.

For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning: That we love one another.
others.
Not like Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him?
Because his works were evil, and his brother's were righteous.
Cain was "of the wicked one"; he was born of the seed of the serpent and manifested hatred and the
evil works of the Devil.
Verse 13,14:
My brothers, do not be surprised if the world hates you.
We know that we have passed from death to life, in that we love the
brothers. He who does not love his brother remains in death.
The word 'brothers' has the connotation of 'saints' as children of God. We know that
we have passed from death to life when our actions are motivated by love
God. Our salvation is manifested to us and to the other saints according to how we love.
with the love of God in our renewed minds. No one has this agape love until
that is reborn from God. The natural man can at most only have philia, love

love with agape love and remain in darkness.
Verse 15:
Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer
he has eternal life in him.
Some churches have taught that anyone who commits homicide, one that in

He cannot have eternal life, he is born of the serpent.

Verse 16:
In this we have known [understood] love, that he (Jesus Christ) laid down his life for
we; we also must lay down our lives for the brothers [saints].
We must put our lives, we must put our selfish desires in subjection to
our spirit, to help the believers.
Verse 17
But whoever has goods of this world and sees his brother [saint] in need, and
He closes his heart against him, how does the love of God dwell in him?
We have often been taught that we should help the unsaved who are hungry.
This writing tells us that our primary responsibility is toward our brothers in
Christ.
Verses 18-22
My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence in God;

Verse 23:
And this is his commandment [from God]: That we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ,
and let us love one another as He has commanded us [God in Christ Jesus].
We can bet everything on the goodness that God has provided for us if
we practice His will. Here we have a commandment, not a request: that we believe in
the name of His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus, the firstborn, and we, His brothers, have
to manifest the love of the Father within His family.

Verse 24:
And he who keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And in this
we know that he [God] remains in us, by the Spirit that he has given us.
The person who keeps the commandments not only has affiliation but also communion.
We can know that God dwells in us in Christ by manifesting the spirit that
He has given us.
1 Juan 4:1-3:
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits whether they are of God; for
many false prophets have gone out into the world.
In this, know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has
come in flesh, is of God;
and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God; and this
it is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and now it is already here

We should not believe every supernatural manifestation, but we must test the spirits.
test to see if they are of the true God. To do this, we need to operate the
manifestation of discernment of spirits. The spirit of a false prophet will not be able to

Verse 4:
Little children, you are of God, and you have overcome them; because greater is [God in Christ]

As God is, so are we, those who are reborn and who show love.

Well, this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments [of God]; and His
commandments are not burdensome.
Because everything that is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has
defeated by the world [Satan], our faith.
Throughout this epistle, the word "world" refers to Satan. The world includes everything
the kingdom of Satan and the things that are in it. We have the ability given by God to overcome
all oppression because "greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world."
Our victory comes with: 1) Our belief in the Word of God. And 2) Renewing our

Verse 6-8
This is Jesus Christ, who came by water and blood; not by water only, but
through water and blood. And the Spirit is the one who bears witness [with our spirit, the
inner man]; because the Spirit is the truth.
For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Spirit.
Holy; and these three are one.
And three are the ones who bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these
three agree.
According to verse 6, Jesus Christ came by water and blood. We know that Jesus was
conceived in Mary by the Holy Spirit. At the moment of Jesus' birth, the bag
the amniotic sac surrounding the fetus was broken and thus it came out of the water. It also spills
blood when the mother gives birth. Therefore Jesus, like all of us, 'came
through water and blood.
By my natural birth, I also came from water and blood. But the spirit within me,
that came at the moment of my spiritual birth, indicates that I am no longer just a
natural man for we have eternal life which is spirit. These three -- water, blood and
spirit-- bear witness to the same God who was testified when Jesus was born.
Verse 9-12:
If we receive the testimony of men [regarding our birth of blood and
water], greater is the testimony of God; for this is the testimony with which God has
testified about his Son.
Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; whoever does not believe God, makes him a liar.
has made [God] a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given
about His Son.
And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life; and this life is in His Son.
He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Beware of idols means not seeking help, guidance or
instruction from any other source than our Heavenly Father, who is the living God

Word. Our victorious living, after receiving our sonship, is related
directly with our remaining in communion by thinking and acting according to the
