21 THINGS EVERY CATHOLIC SHOULD KNOW

Based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church, in the Sacred Scriptures and the documents
Councils of the Church Fathers and the Apostolic Tradition.
The 3 Persons of the Holy Trinity.
We believe in one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God in three distinct persons.
FATHER: Creator, beginning and end of all things.
SON: the Only Begotten of the Father who was born, suffered, and died for us for our salvation.

HOLY SPIRIT: Paraclete (intercessor, advocate, and comforter)


The 7 sacraments.
Of Christian Initiation

BAPTISM: We stop being creatures to become Children of God.


CONFIRMATION: The baptized is strengthened with the Gift of the Holy Spirit, in this way he ...
they commit more with Christ by reaffirming faith.
EUCHARIST: Our God instituted it at the Last Supper with the sacrifice of His body and
blood. All this in order to stay among men, to never separate from the
yours and make them participants.

Of Healing

PENANCE AND RECONCILIATION: Confession is the Sacrament of forgiveness.


ANOINTING OF THE SICK: remedies the ailments of soul and body to endure and
to overcome evil with strength and to obtain the forgiveness of sins.

Of Service

SACRAMENT OF ORDER: They are the successors of the Apostles who have the mission to
to carry the Gospel, to extend its Church and to administer the sacraments.
MARRIAGE; The alliance between man and woman does not depend on human laws, for
it was created by God himself.
3. The 10 commandments.
The Decalogue proclaims the law of God, the fundamental duties we have with Our
Creator and towards others reveal fundamental obligations that we have to fulfill.
The division and numbering of the commandments of the Church follows the model made by Saint
Augustine.
You shall love God above all things.

10. The 5 Conditions for Making a Good Confession.
1. Examination of Conscience: to analyze our life and open our heart without deception.

Repentance: feeling a true pain of having sinned because we have hurt God.
3. Purpose of not sinning again: it is of no use to confess if we do not want to improve.

4. Confess sins to the confessor: let us set aside shame or pride and open our
soul.
5. Receive absolution and fulfill the penance. At that moment, we receive God's forgiveness.

ONE: One church, one God – Father, one faith and one baptism.
SANTA: we have been sanctified by Christ through baptism.
CATHOLIC: It is Universal. It encompasses everything and everyone.

APOSTOLIC: Jesus entrusted the teaching of the faith to his apostles and their successors.
