1 Year Online Basic Advaita Vedanta Course Details

This course is planned for freshers in mind. However, if anyone


wants to refresh the concepts also most welcome.
This course will be roughly into 2 semesters, means total 108
hours (108 classes) of learning. It will run into 50 to 54 weeks,
weekly 2 days, 2 hours classes from 2025 Vijayadashami to 2026
Vijayadashami.
Though if you know to read, write, talk, and listen very basic
Samskritam (I have just started basic Samskrita Grammar Class
today) will be an added advantage, but others can also join
because the medium will be in English.
TattvaBdha and AtmaBodha are very important basic and
introductory texts to start with to get a hold on Advaita Vedanta
Concepts.

TattvaBodha is in prose form grantha, and AtmaBodha is in sloka


form grantha which explains the Advaita Vedantic concepts in a
very systematic and structured way.

Semester 1 or first six months syllabus

1) Introduction to Vedanta based on Adi Shankarachaya’s


TattvaBodha without text.

2) Adi Shankaracharya’s TattvaBodha with Samskrita prose.

3) Adi Shankaracharaya’s AtmaBodha with Samskrita slokas


and it’s commentary by Padmapadacharya.
Semester 2 or second six months syllabus

1) Selected Minor Upanishads like Kaivalyopanishad (or)

2) Adi Shankaracharya’s selected Panchakams (or)

3) Important chapters from Vivekachudamani (or)

4) Texts like Bhaja Govindam, Aparokshanuputi (or)

5) Dasha Shloki, selected verse from Shata Sloki.

Other Details:

Online Media: Google Meet / Zoom

Medium: English
Course Fees: Free
Classes: First two classes will be on October 1 (Wednesday),
and 2 (Thursday). Further classes will be on every Monday,
and Tuesday.
Time: 7 pm to 8 pm. All times are IST.
