POSSESSION (SỰ SỞ HỮU)
Trong tiếng anh, Sở hữu cách được dùng để chỉ ra sự sở hữu một vật của một người nào đó.
1. Cách thứ 1: Thêm “ 's ” vào sau danh từ chỉ sự sở hữu, danh từ bị sở hữu phải đứng
phía sau.
Danh từ số ít:
Mary's husband is very handsome.
The doctor's office is very clean and tidy.
Danh từ số nhiều nhưng không tận cùng bằng “S”:
The men's jacket is blue.
The geese's wings were wounded.
The children's clothes are very nice but expensive.
Trong trường hợp danh từ sở hữu ở số nhiều / tên riêng tận cùng bằng “S”, thì ta
chỉ cần thêm dấu phẩy ( ' ) vào sau danh từ đó.
The girls' parents have already gathered in the meeting hall.
The Millers' car was imported f-rom USA.
Chris’ parents are in London.
2. Cách thứ 2: Sử dụng tính từ sở hữu:
Khi chủ sở hữu là 1 trong 7 đại từ nhân xưng thì ta có thể biến đại từ nhân xưng thành tính
từ sở hữu + danh từ để biểu thị sở hữu cách.
