INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES:

Note: Candidates must be instructed that ruling by all means whatsoever is forbidden except

when marking off space for name and other particulars.

This paper offers two major alternatives A and B.

Candidates may attempt either A or B but not both.

ALTERNATIVE A:

Drawing or painting from Still life. Candidates must be instructed that ruling by any means

whatsoever is strictly forbidden

ALTERNATIVE B:

Drawing or painting from Nature. Candidates are required to make a study or studies,

using any side of the sheet of paper.

STILL LIFE
1. On the floor in front of the candidates place a clay pot approximately 50cm high
containing four (04) drinking straws
In front of the pot on the left hand side, place two wires of fresh bony meat “ Nyama
choma” leaning against the pot in an angle of 600
Behind the clay pot on the right hand side, place a 10 Littre jerycan with its handle
exposed to the candidates in a rectangular way. Besides the jerycan place a bucket in
upright position so that the handle is exposed to the candidates is exposed to the
candidates.
In between the clay pot and bucket place a (2) gourd bottle in the upright position
In front of the setting pour on the ground 4kg of millet flour to make a heap candidates
are to draw or paint the setting

NATURE STUDY

2. Candidates are to draw or paint the an uprooted alvoera mature plant with its leaves
intact on it
3. Candidates are to draw/paint the foot path leading to the school administration block with
flowers in front of the block and trees behind the block

INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES:

Demarcate a space 5cm wide by 12cm long on the top right corner, in which you indicate your name,

class, question number.

Answer only one question stating its number.

Students are allowed to enter the examination room with all the materials which can be

useful while answering the question i.e. newspapers, magazines, scrap books etc.

All questions carry the same marks.

A model wears sleeveless skirt/ trouser. He/she is seated on three legged stool approximately
40cm high. He/she bends slightly forward, his/her right hand side arm is resting on her right
hand lap crossed legged. Part of hand or the palm is hanging in space. The model should be bear
footed

THE HEAD INCLUDING THE TORSO
A female model sits perpendicular to the plastic sit so that her back hand rests on and is
supported by the back of the plastic sit, she wears a sleeveless blouse. Her right hand holds a
woven hat which is placed in her moderately grown hair as if she is posing to have a photo.

INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES:

Answer one question, stating the number

Drawing instruments, tracing paper letra set and similar aids are allowed.

The art teacher should supply the candidates with the cards measuring 5cm wide by 12cm long

with which the candidates will demarcate the area on the top right hand corner of the front surface

of the paper. In this area the candidates name, centre and index numbers in that order, must be

written clearly

This area must not be painted

A part from the particular media asked for in the question, candidates are recommended to

consider a choice of different materials and processes and are reminded that the following are

possible: colours, stencils wax resist collage or string which may give an interesting texture.

Instruction to candidates for the planning session (21 hrs )

You are required to spend 2 hrs and 15minutes doing the following
i) Reading and selecting both task and materials
ii) Sketching
iii) Transfer if necessary
On no account may you take out of the examination room a copy of the tests or your plan/
sketches and you must not bring in any other note/ sketches or any such specimen into the
examination room on returning for the practical
Your plans/sketches must bear your school name, index number, your name and the number
of the task you have selected
All these should be handed over to the supervisor at the end of the practical test

drinks, for the month of June 2025 having 07th and 12th as public holidays and starting on
a Tuesday

4. In the space of 28cm x 34cm.Design a badge for Mitoma vocational school whose its
motto is “we toil for progress.
The vocational school offers the following courses
 Agriculture
 Art and design
 Tailoring
 Plumbing
 Brick laying and concrete practice (BCP)
 Metal fabrication
Use at least two colours
