Planning & Preparation Before Operation

3.1.1 Uncoiler Adjustments

1. Coiler Upper Roller Arm Force

Adjustment:

 During feeding operation the

upper roller arm presses the
material coil, to avoid coil diffuse
and feed smoothly.
 When your material is too thin, to
prevent scraping while upper roller
arm press down, the pressure
regulator on the cylinder may be
adjusted to reduce the depressing
force.

2. Mandrel Adjustment:

 The drum tighten diameter is

adjusted depending on the coil’s
inner diameter, by the mechanic
arm. Coil is placed and the
mandrel is tightened by the arm
again.

1. Adjustment When Material Deviation:

When starting to drive the material, it has

to be positioned between the guiding
arms.

The material has to go horizontally and

correctly into the NC feeder.

If there is shifting, the guiding arms may

be rotated to position the material
correctly.

2. Material Pressing Spring Adjustment:

The spring on the feeding roller has to be

adjusted properly, until there is no
slipping between the roller and material.

When the spring pressure is adjusted too

high, the material can be deformed.

When the spring pressure is adjusted too

low, there will be slipping and feeding
roller cannot feed accurately.

3.1.3 Initial Installation and Starting-up

1. Upper roller arm should be located on the top (upmost) position; lower roller arm
should be located on the bottom (lowermost) position. It is necessary to prevent a probable
collision of sheet metal roll with the hold down and hold up arms.

2. The drum should be taken to minimum diameter level. It is necessary to supply sheet
metal roll installation to the drum easily.

3. The sheet metal roll should be installed to the loading car with a crane or forklift.

4. Before withdrawing of loading car, the drum should be opened to tighten the sheet
metal roll and also supporting feet should be assembled.

5. Upper roller and lower roller arms should be taken to press position. This process is
necessary to prevent spring back forces, occurring while decoiling of sheet metal roll when
the fastener steel stripes on the roll are removed.

6. The fastener steel stripes on the sheet metal roll are removed.

7. Forward movement is given to the drum by control panel to decoil the sheet metal
roll.

8. Band supporter arm and feed roller should be taken to exact open position. This
process is necessary to load the sheet to the end of the straightener.

9. When the machine is on manual mode, the sheet metal is pushed forward into the
clamping rollers.

10. The upper rollers in the straightener servo-system are moved up and side guide
rollers are opened for an easy first passing of the sheet metal up to blanking tooling. It is
applied to facilitate feeding sheet metal to die.

11. Uncoiler unit and straightener servo-feeder are moved forward together when the
machine is on manual mode.

12. Sheet metal is carried forward to the entrance of the die.

13. The sheet metal is calibrated in accordance with the die.

14. Straightener servo-feeder rollers are taken to down position. It is applied to feed the
sheet metal, which is calibrated for the dies before, in the same position.

15. Upper roller arm is taken to press position.

3.1.4 Use of Machines, Important Points And Warning!

 Do not forget to reduce the diameter of the uncoiler drum before loading the coil.

 The feeder must be parallel to the dies otherwise the iron sheet could be blocked
in the dies. Be very precise.

 The straightening and the feeding rolls must be perfectly clean, nothing must
interfere the straightening otherwise the rolls could stripe your sheet coil.

 If the pressure on the straightener rolls is too high you will bend the coil in the other
curve, if the pressure is too low you will not straighten correctly the coil.

 The straightener rolls must be parallel and this is insured by us. The rolls can also
be used separately.

 Every time the dies are changed, the settings will be changed and must be
checked.

 The feeder can easily feed the sheet in the dies, if the dies do not press the sheet,
be sure that the dies are correctly mounted.

 Check if there is magnetic elements near the machine. It may cause interferences.

operation should be avoided.
Drum shaft and springs should be lubricated once a week. Oil less operation should be
avoided.
Conveyor roller bearings must be lubricated with a grease pump once a month.
For the models with hold-down arm, wheel seems to have working life of 2000 hours. The
operator must replace the hold-down wheel when worn.
For the models with motor, gear box does not need lubrication.
The conditioner in the air system (dryer / lubricator), daily oil checks should be made and
the water must be emptied.
Before working with the machine, operator must check all the working parts, should do
the checks against the possibility of loosening and dismantling due to the vibrations
occurring during feeding.
Gear units in the machine do not require maintenance and lubrication.
Lubricate guidance rollers and screw shafts regularly.
Servo rollers must be cleaned before feeding the sheet.
Straightener rollers must be cleaned and lubricated before feeding the sheet.
Lubricate bearings in the pneumatic system in servo feeder rollers regularly.
Lubricate straightenerside block bearings regularly.
Lubricate gears in the feeder every 120 hours of operation.
Roller gears must be lubricated for every use.
Periodically lubricate the bearings monthly

Please contact our company.

5.3.2 If decoiler is running continuously;

Check the sensor using a metal piece.
Check the sensor is placed correctly.
Check sensor input connections in the panel.
Please contact our company.

5.3.3 If servo feeder is feeding incorrectly;

Product jams in the mold affects the feeding length.
Burrs on the sheet affect feeding length. Make sure there are no burrs on the sheet.
If the feed sensor is activated when feeding roller is opened while the system is on
automatic piloting, the feeding operation starts, and will be incorrect feeding.
Be sure that the pattern of sheet during pressing operation is not pulling the sheet from
our machine.
Prevent bending occurring between mold and the feeder.
Make sure the press plate is properly aligned and gapless.
Gaps in press plate lead to faulty production and it may seem like servo feeder is feeding
incorrectly.
If the sheet does not enter the rollers the right angle (90 degrees), during feeding it can
slide to the sides and become jammed inside the mold.
In the event of an alarm appears on the display of our machines, check servo motor
cables.
Check power transmission cables.
Check each phase of power connection.
If an alarm is displayed on the screen of our machine, report alarm code to our company.
