focal length 26 cm. the image is virtual.
Reason (R): For above given system the equation 1/f=1/u + 1/v gives v = ∞.
4 Define 1 dioptre of power of a lens. 2
5 One-half of a convex lens is covered with a black paper. Will this lens produce a complete image 2
of the object? Verify your answer experimentally. Explain your observations.
6 A 2.0 cm tall object is placed perpendicular to the principal axis of a convex lens of focal length 3
10 cm. The distance of the object from the lens is 15 cm. Find the nature, position and size of the
image. Also find its magnification.

what distance from the mirror should a screen be placed, so that a sharp focussed image can be
obtained? Find the size and the nature of the image.

diagrams how the defects associated with myopic and hypermetropic eye can be corrected?
9 Krishna is a keen observer and loved the spectacular colours in a rainbow. He also observed the
same pattern when he allowed sunlight to pass through a glass prism. He guessed that it is due to
the inclined refracting surfaces of a glass prism which is responsible for showing such exciting
phenomenon. Whereas, no such phenomenon was observed when light passes through a glass slab
